So good Mark & Scott
Thank you! 🙏
@@Asshat900 top tier trolling 🙏
as a biker and someone who hiked in iceland it immediately sent shivers down my spine seeing the single tire tracks in the moss. thank you for correcting the mistake and explaining why its so important in iceland to stay on track
This is so awesome and hats off to the Icelandic mountain biking community!!! I wish you all huge success for your MTB future! Hi from the USA!
09:16 this section with that downtempo music really touched me. Amazing footage
Thanks!! I just posted that part as it’s own upload for more people to see. 🙌
Erinnerungen kommen hoch - Raven 2023 😍 - einzigartige Landschaft und einzigartige Community- ganz liebe Grüße an Asta und Magne und das ganze Team und Rallypally ;-)
Excellent Video! My son and I really enjoyed our ride with icebikes in 2022 - Antoine was our guide.
Awesome!! Thanks so much
Cinematography and the people were both amazing
Thank you!
Amazing scenery. Hope they can keep building the mtb community and trails, looks like a beautiful place to ride
Me too, so beautiful there
I’ve been to Iceland 4 times and I’m coming back in June my first time in the highlands I thought it would be so cool to ride a mtb there and here it is wow next summer I’m coming back with my bike
i was in iceland with my bike about 3 years ago and it was amazing. iceland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and it’s just so fascinating.
So unique
So good, great work to the whole production team! Cheers Scott and Mark for another spectacular Collab, continue to be awesome!
Wow!!!! What a bucketlist of a grandeur biketrail haven!!!! ❤ If Frodo is into mountainbiking, he gonna be here… 😅
Top of my bucket list! 🙏🏽
My daughter and I had the most amazing ride with Antoine and Icebike. We are SO excited to go back and ride the new trails amongst the volcano huts.
Epic! The best crew 🙂
Amazing! I met some riders from Iceland in Innerleithen, they were so into MTB it was unreal! So humble and loving the scene growing in Iceland. A very short flight from Glasgow so I'd be tempted to go and ride there after watching this.
Just amazing! the sequence at 9:50 was incredible.
My favorite spot there I rode!
Yes this sequence is insane. 🤙 What's the track played? 🎶
Such a great film you guys! Stunning landscapes and beautifully captured.
Cheers buddy
Great viewing. Will leave my split boards at home and take my bike on my next trip to Iceland
Definitely worth it!
Been watching this non-stop. An Iceland trip is coming soon, thanks Mark!
Thanks!! Enjoy iceland
What a beautiful video to watch, waaay better than expected. Thank you so much guys! 🤗
Awesome thanks Jonas!
Great job everyone! I love the drone work, it's such a stunning landscape. HIs mantra, More trails, More trails, More trails. PERFECT!!
Thanks for watching Jerry! Glad you enjoyed the film :)
MORE TRAILS!!
hands down Mark
This is fabulous. I also love the idea of building trails + mtbing ... on my bucketlist
Thanks!
Such an amazing video Mark! I was there in the winter, and now I definitely want to go again.
Epic! It would be a totally different experience.
hope someday can ride this amazing trails and see the awesome views.
Love the redemption video. Learned a lot. Awesome content all the time. Excellent work dudes. Happy Trails :)
And let me tell you, there's more to the story! Adventure Story coming :)
This needs to win gold at Banff International Film Festival!!!
Wow thanks!! 🙏
Mark- Congrats to you and your production team on a great film. It captures some amazing rides/scenery and covers some very important subject matters. We have been looking forward to this film since meeting you and your team in the van on the way back to Keflavik International Airport last September.
That’s awesome! Thanks for commenting 🙂
It's the best place!!! My drims.... Thanks!!! Best films!!!!
Glad you enjoy it!
The camera work. 🔥
Thanks! Scott bell crushed it 🔥
great work, great message!
Amazing video and breathtaking footage guys. I've had a lot of fun biking in North Iceland but can't wait to finally do trip down to the southern parts as well, it looks out of this world.
The south is insane! Vibrant rhyolite mountains, geothermal hotspots that could cook a mean Icelandic hotdog, and jaw-dropping peaks everywhere you look. It's like you've been teleported to a dimension where the laws of awesomeness reign supreme!
@@MarkMatthewsMTB can't wait to go!
I had a fantastic week of riding last year with Magne and the team of Icebike. It‘s even more beautiful in real life🤩
the sickest crew!!
Magnificent footage
Cheers!
Wow... What a beautiful country. Great video.
Thanks Calvin!
I have been to Iceland a few years ago and it is amazing! While visiting I noticed how even the walking tourists started destroying areas by walking off trails. It's nice to see that actual trails are officially being made for MTB. I hope the locals take advantage of this great tourist opportunities for the country. For example, if you think about Derby in Tasmania, this town is all about mountain biking and they have embraced it and set up proper trails and it keeps the town alive! I hope I can go visit Iceland again and MTB!
I hope so!! Advocating for more mountain bike trails in Iceland isn’t easy. The whole process can feel like navigating a maze of bureaucracy, dealing with government agencies and landowners. It's a wild ride, for sure.
I took the trip of a lifetime with Icebike adventures to the highlands.
Amazing!!
Excellent work guys! Beauty film and story.
Thanks trip!
This must be a dream!
I’m looking at doing a master’s degree in Iceland, and I took two things away from this that will definitely impact my choice: 1) Iceland would be a great place to shred and build trails, and 2) that I’ll need to STAY ON THE TRAILS.
Epic video…thanks!
Yes it would be, but you can’t! Haha. As it currently sits, Iceland isn’t really a place for mountain biking but I think they’ll get there.
@@MarkMatthewsMTB wasn’t this entire video people…shredding? It’s not North Shore but…pretty good.
@@RZ1402 What I mean is most locals are too nervous to even share where they ride and how they ride it. For that reason we even left certain shots out of this film. The bike community is on thin ice with the environmental agency and riding is easily banned in places. That's why I'm hoping this video can be a helpful tool to support their cause.
What is in this video is the very best riding we could find after travelling the country for a few weeks. If you're an avid mountain biker I wouldn't recommend it as a destination to live, but it's sure a cool place to visit to explore the nature there via your bike.
Great work team!!!!
Amazing video definitely going to Iceland to ride now!
Thanks! Epic place 🙌
This is a masterpiece🙌
Thanks so much
Awesome 😍. I will publish a post on my website about this video.
🙏
Awesome film. Nice work! Iceland looks unreal.
Thanks! It's like being teleported to a dimension of epicness
I was just there last week on vacation and saw a few trucks full of mtb. I thought wow this probably is a great place to do it. My next trip I hope to get some riding in!
Very cool!
What an awesome video!
thanks so much!
Great film Mark, scenery looks epic! On my bucket list for a bike trip 🤙🏼
Thanks Andy!
Awesome project to be involved with
Gorgeous place, love to ride there.
Super beautiful landscape, too bad not to have French subtitles 😭
so interesting 😍
👏🏻 great job
Inspiring!
Thanks!
My gosh that place is stunning 😊
So unreal
This is a first video i have ever seen from you and its spectacular. The storytelling and cinematography is excellent. Can i ask you about the gear you used for this? Also the color grading is on another lever, did you hand-correct each frame or have you used LUTS. Thank you for creating this amazing piece. Im subscribing immediately.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed this! Check out Scott bell visuals on CZcams as well. He is my main film maker and he has tons of videos about this. This film was shot with a canon c70 and color graded in resolve
Fantastic video Mark!
Thanks Bryce!
So cool, same situation here in central Italy
So good! Iceland looks amazing
Thanks! It’s unreal

Well done MM!
cheers!
Keep up the good work! Such an nice movie!! Grettings from Sweden 🙂
Thanks!
Cool Video! I can see a Marin prototype bike in there!
not a prototype just the Shark bike! 27.5 rift zone custom painted
Damn awesome story, glad to see there is such a respect for the natural state of the wilderness there. It's beautiful. Imagine when they have more trails and more established networks the place will go off! Thankyou for showing the whole story too, and something for all of us to learn from
Thanh’s Matty! The place has insane potential I hope things keep going in a positive direction for the riding community
This was great. I'd love to do a bike trip with my friends there, soon!
Go for it!
This is so cool❤
Thanks so much
Sweet!
This place is so sick.
7:20 I prefer this over long, tiring uphills :)
Just get it over with and get back to the downhills
haha same
Hoping for POV clips on this one.
brilliant
Thanks Caleb!
Stupendo 👋👋👋
And one more time, stay on the trails, haha :)
Juste terrible avec des paysages de nature exeptionnel et des chevaux fondus dans le décor ..juste magnifique a frissonner 💥💯👌🤙
C'était incroyable!
Espetacular
This isn't just an Icelandic issue. Sensitive expansion of mountain biking trail resources with care and respect for our environment is crucial for the continuing advancement of our sport. Involving the local communities to underpin all the success stories about mountain biking venues is fundamental. We MNTBers must learn to care for country. We can learn much from indigenous traditional owners.
Thanks for this thought-provoking video.
100% agree!! It’s a quickly growing sport. Thanks for the thoughtful comment and I’m happy you enjoyed the film
OMFG 🙄🤢🤮
well done guys, i rode lanndmannalauger (i know i fucked that) like 6 years ago and had some awesome descents and heaps of hike a bike but who cares when its so shockingly beautiful. I also rode a trail closer to Reykjavik that i think the ice bike dudes built it was right next to a big ass power plant, some really fun stuff but had one hike a bike on a snow felid where if i fell i would have taken a death fall down a cliff and waterfall. more trails and more beta please, would love to go back to Iceland to dig and ride.
Well, before this, I just wanted to fatbike the snow in Iceland, now there is more.
Just makes me want to visit iceland for a mtb trip
🙂🤟
Only a matter of time, before we see some Icelandic flags on the World Cup DH and/or Enduro circuits.
I hope so!! These Icelanders are straight up legends.
Odin would be proud
👌👌👌
Dahm so well done. Bout to buy a plane ticket haha.
Haha thanks!!
🤘
Where i can find a map with MTB trails in Iceland?
All designated riding trails are on trail forks. You’ll quickly learn there isn’t a whole lot so you have to look at the hiking trails and find out which ones allow bikes. Your best bet is to go with a tour guide like icebike so you don’t end up in the wrong places.
0:03 what's the secret of doing that trick? Is there any video how to do that? I see pro doing that, but I didn't see any step-by-step about that. BTW, this video is awesome and scary at the same time. Imagine riding those trails alone....
If we can claim the same things about the sustainability of mountain biking in Iceland in 10 years from the making of this video then we've done it right. PLEASE KEEP THIS WILD NATURAL TREASURE AS WHAT IT IS!!!
Thank you for this sensitive film spreading awareness!
Well said!
wow, would have though this was the national sport
more trails less rules thats it!
16:30 where is this place exactly ? ❤
Icebike pumptrack not a far drive from the trail centre
Is there a shortage of moss over there? Is the moss disappearing?
No but it’s a small place and they are trying to protect as much as they can
@@MarkMatthewsMTB I was just curious because I’ve never been to Iceland.
@@Eric.V. it’s a different vibe than North America, the environmental agency is very strict there
Tak tak
🔥
awesomme scenery..........why are the bikers in such a hurry? Slow down and enjoy the surroundings.
Love the bike design czcams.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube. All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.
Any Icelanders out there interested in coming to Oregon to ride and getting hosted? Then us coming there to ride. i am thinking a week or so. K
I always thought Iceland looked so bland and depressing and I think I've just figured out why, Where's all the forests? I'm guessing something to do with soil acidity etc?
The Vikings cut down all the trees 100s of years ago and the land hasn’t been able to regenerate them because of the wind exposure and cold climate. There’s forests around Reykjavik and in northern Iceland but the trees are very small for how old they are. For example a 50 year old tree is only like 10 feet tall
