- railway trains in Vietnam. Most of the fleet is run by diesel locomotives.
-
Would anyone know if these diesel engines are originally from Vietnam or elsewhere?

I was not aware that Vietnam had passenger trains.
Thanks Tim for sharing
Looks like an offbrand P40
awesome train video
OK.
It a Hue Railway Station.
GREAT video. Merits a 💯 multiple times.
Interesting that they serve full meals on the train - I imagine that this particular line was a cross country from North to South and not actually a local commuter line.
Tim, do you know how long it took the government to rebuild the rail lines after all that bombing during the war? Must have taken an awful long time at a tremendous cost. You have to wonder if this is not the reason why those workmen keep so busy attending to the rail and ground underneath it.
Thanx for sharing.
Hmmmm good question which I don't have the answer to - all I can say is that the line wasn't in perfect shape - some rocking back and forth but still worth the ride!
Nice bit of local colour. They're Chinese built those locos, Caterpillar engines.
