I just got one and I am very impressed with the way it rides and handles rough terrain. Lot's of get up and go and the 41 mph top speed is plenty fast even though it wants to go faster.

Seems like a lot of complaints of that and they fixed it with the new one

Your parents have a very nice place… and Kubotas…
Of course the driver’s safety shoulder restraint can be easily removed…
To say that the Sidekick cannot be used as a utility vehicle, because of the shoulder restraint, is just sour grapes… imo… because you are driving your parent’s rig, on their property… and none of it is yours … yet…
People go as far as removing the metal hip bar restraint, as well…
Though not so easily as the shoulder restraint…
For older folks… going slower, in and out of the vehicle… is better than falling out… Being held in is a good thing… when driving a 40 mph… quick and nimble… squirrelly… go fast machine…
True for children driving, as well…

They strictly bought it for Utility, no fun aspect it's a work horse. I'm sure a rancher out West would also not want to be bothered having to buckle up every time at every 100 yards and getting in and out to be easy. But I get it we live in a world of lawyers and I'm sure a lot of this is there like the doors (these things didn't use to have doors) are because someone sued them and WON.
For farm/ranch duty I would remove them but the seatbelt is an easy work around just leave them plugged in. Can also buy blanks I have sense learned also on Amazon. Yes if I t was mine I would dive deeper into the side metal restrain, worst case cut it off.

@@Meekerextreme I get it… utility and safety don’t mix… Maybe a diesel is a better match… But then, the quickness, nimbleness and speed would be missing…
