      The title is deceptive and hypocritical. Popes are certainly not saints. But they are not sinners, they are heinous criminals when they commit atrocities: war, mass murder, slavery, mass torture, plunder, burning people, burning library, mass suffering. To call that a mortal sin is an understatement. They hide in the title "Your Holiness" and other outrageous claims to cover the rotten inside the most powerful and corrupt institution on earth.

    St. Irenaeus of Lyons tells us both Peter and Paul were in Rome and that both were martyred in Rome. He wrote these words around AD 180. St. Irenaeus was a student of St. Polycarp - a disciple of St. John the Apostle. Irenaeus did not speak as though this was some newly discovered information in his writings. On the contrary, he wrote as if this was common knowledge.

When will we grow up enough to admit some members of our OWN group are horrible? What is your group? Are not some of its members (and your self now and then) pretty horrible?

    • @TonyMorales48
      @TonyMorales48 Před 9 lety +2

      ***** I didn't see anything wrong on what +Chris00648 said when he mentioned he chose to become a Catholic than to stay as a Baptist. But you described him as deluded for being what he wants for himself now. So I asked you if you have proof of your accusation that Catholicism is a not what Christ founded but just a mere system from the devil. And I ask you again what is your proof?
      What happened in the garden was not about protesting against Eve, it was about the devil tempting Eve to commit the sin of disobedience against her creator. Protestantism is still part of Christianity for that was Martin Luther started which resulted into around 40,000 different denominations who are not in unison. Protestants always protesting against each other causing them to start their own. I think you are only trying to push your own thinking, belief and agenda.

    • @TonyMorales48
      @TonyMorales48 Před 9 lety +1

      ***** I actually have no problem about Satan being the very first spiritual rebel who protested against God. And the first human protestant against the Catholic Church was Martin Luther followed by 40,000+ other denominations. History says Martin Luther started Protestantism.
      Anyone who is against Christ and His church (Catholic Church) he founded with St. Peter is an antichrist and anti-Catholicism. The Catholic Church whom Jesus founded is not and can never be against her founder. Only those who opted out and protested against are the ones who are against. Now if you consider a church is the antichrist then are about 40,000 of them then.
      Why do you think this 40,000 is very much against the one and only church that Jesus founded?
      Would you have any idea how the word Roman was connected to the Catholic Church? Please research properly and also check what the Vatican says about this too. Perhaps you are just listening to your pastors and not from the Vatican itself.
      Christ founded a universal church and we all know universal means catholic. And he instructed the apostles that whatever they bind on earth will be bound in heaven.
      The word Christian as an adjective: of, relating to, or professing Christianity or its teachings, "The Christian Church". As a noun: a Christian is a person who has received Christian baptism or is a believer in Jesus Christ and his teachings.
      You mentioned Acts 20:28 “Take heed to yourselves, and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” - And who are these bishops that the Holy Ghost have placed to rule the church of God? Aren’t they the Popes who are bishops successors since the time of St. Peter? This verse did not say anything about or hinted about the 40,000 different protestant churches.
      And you are correct Only Christians can be Catholic as they, again, existed before the foundation of the world (Eph.1.3).
      You said: “Romanism cannot as it is temporal and of Satan.” Check this out so you can be cleared and understand that your accusation is false, baseless and just so to defend your own chosen faith:

      King Richard went through a rigorous testing period. His skeleton was DNA tested and studied in minute detail. Close relatives were found and the DNA match was conclusive. It was not the grave of a poor archer, it was that of the king.
      Of course there is no way to prove it is that of St Peter. But there are ways to determine as close as possible that it might be. And examination of the skeleton for injuries incurred during crucifixion. The age. Origins. Would the DNA be traced to Galilee. This would confirm a lot rather that just stating Oh we found a skull.

    Sad...so many vicious, virulent arguments are carried on in the name of The Prince of Peace. People verbally condemned to hell, and worse, innocent babies being baptized at birth because they are full of sin. Why? Jesus of Nazareth said, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, FOR OF SUCH IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN." (my emphasis) Later, Jesus took a little child and sat him in their midst and said, "Lest ye become as this little child, ye shall in no wise enter the Kingdom of Heaven." That having been said by the Son of God, according to Christian belief, why would infants need baptism to "wash away their sins"? I am a realist where religion is concerned, but I was raised Fundamentalist Christian, and among the books in my library are a Bible, a Greek lexicon, a Schofield's Reference Bible, and a Latin/English dictionary. Because I am still seeking the Truth.

    • @brendaharper5998
      @brendaharper5998 Před 8 lety

      +bridgefin Certainly I have heard of original sin. But, never once, in the New Testament, have I read proof that the early Church baptised children. At this juncture, you must look into the definition of sin, and ask yourself how an infant can be guilty of sinning. Sinning, how? By soiling its diaper? Crying with colic? Sorry, I'm descending into sarcasm and irony, and there is nothing to be accomplished by doing that. An innocent child is the epitome of all that is good and pure in the Race of Adam. They cannot sin, not having what the church calls "accountability".

    • @bridgefin
      @bridgefin Před 8 lety +1

      +Brenda Harper For starters, whole households were describes as being baptised. They would have included multi families and you can be sure infants and children would have been among them.
      But first, where does the bible say that it has to be the only source of doctrine and practices? It doesn't. Why are you ONLY reverting to Scripture? Have you read of the early church and what their baptismal practices were?
      You are not listening. I said that the infant has not committed any sins but only the original sin is washed away by baptism, the sin inherited from Adam.

    • @brendaharper5998
      @brendaharper5998 Před 8 lety

      +bridgefin I am listening, Sir. I believe this is a situation where we must agree to disagree, and spare each other sharp tones of remonstrance. First, let me clarify my position: I am an adult female, and therefore not an errant child to be rebuked like one. I enjoy a stimulating discussion with persons willing to approach subjects in the spirit of an exchange of opinions, ideas and beliefs. I am ambivalent concerning religion, other than viewing it as a many-faceted subject which can be engrossing in its history. I was raised Fundamentalist Christian, but now have relegated the entire subject to the position of a thing which I usually view with clinical detachment. I do play by the rules, however: I base my remarks on sources which are generally accepted as authoritative. Therefore my use of the Bible as my staging reference. It may interest you to know I can discuss Buddhism, Shinto, and others equally well or poorly, depending upon how you view me. I opened a comment on Christianity

    • @bridgefin
      @bridgefin Před 8 lety

      +Brenda Harper Well, I will say that you are a breath of fresh air at this point. I do run into a lot of caustic comments and maybe I was carrying that baggage when I replied to you. I also appreciate a good discussion and am prepared to disagree as necesary without going to personal attacks. I cannot put two sentences together on Buddhism, Shinto or others so you are way ahead of me there.
      So, are we together on babies not committing personal sins yet inheriting the sin of Adam?

    • @brendaharper5998
      @brendaharper5998 Před 8 lety +1

      +bridgefin Absolutely, my friend! And you, yourself are startlingly refreshing...honest, forthright, and willing to dissect and assimilate a subject without turning every friendly discussion into an auto de fe. As for feeling a little prickly at times....think nothing of it. No harm, no foul. Sad to say that it's not unusual in these discussion threads to be verbally shredded like mozzarella cheese, simply because you are open minded and seeking intellectual stimulation in a subject which interests you. Under those circumstances, it wouldn't be overreacting if one were to wind up in a clock tower with an uzi! That having been said, anytime you would like to engage in a friendly intellectual discussion on most any subject, (I'm honest enough I will confess if I
      I know little or nothing on a subject) you know where to find me. And I will reply. Thank you for renewing my belief in friendly dialogue. Peace!

      Paul Newfield I have never met a Catholic in my life that believes the Catholic Church was founded on Peter. Nor does the Catholic Church teach that. The Catholic Church was started by Jesus. The New Testament , a Catholic Book. is very clear about that.
      If a person were Baptized they are graphed into the Body of Christ or The One Church started by Jesus. If on then decides to follow another one of the 30000 non Catholic denominations they are a heretic not a Christian because they reject the gift of the Church Jesus left for us. His Church has a purpose which is to protect and safe guard the truth. What would the world know about Jesus had the Catholic Church never existed? There would be no Church Fathers. no New Testament. no Saints. none of the Oral Teachings of Christ. What would there be? The Catholic Church resolved the issues of Jesus being both true God and True man. God as a Trinity, Jesus having two natures. Please get your facts straight before making comments like that. Thank you.

If you think the Catholics are wrong then you have no business reading their book do you. Perhaps you prefer to read the book perverted by Luther that was once the Word of God but has been corrupted by a rouge Catholic Bishop hired by Henry VIII who need a new religion to justify his murderous ways
      Ignatius of Antioch (martyred @ 110 AD): Wherever the bishop appears, there let the congregation be; just as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. The term Catholic Church was used by all who preached the gospel as early as 65 AD. That was 1500 years before all Protestants existed.

      Paul Newfield `Jesus gave Peter the Keys to the Kingdom just like David did when he was king. I am sorry you do not think Jesus was qualified to make such a decision. God has always chosen one person to lead his people Noah Abraham Moses David Peter and now the Popes. This is why the Catholic Church will never fail. Jesus said the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Can this be said for 10000s of failed non Catholic Churches that have faded away and been forgotten by history, We know that Jesus started a Church and it is not any of the Protestant ones. They are all man made and teach a false gospel. That is why there are over 30000 in the US alone and none of them can agree on anything. They are notorious for fighting and creating division even within their own man made denominations. RCC will remain until Jesus says otherwise. That is a fact of Scripture Tradition and the Early Church Fathers.

Study it my friend...the bible says that those who keep the commandments of God is the true church, catholics break all the commandments. How do I know, because I was a catholic all my life, until I started to read the bible and then left that church that God calls a harlot ...

      Roman Catholics find it hard to accept the truth that Peter was not a pope. They will fight you, accuse you of heresy or being anti-Roman Catholic, and in some cases curse you out. Unfortunately all of that does not change the truth that Peter was not a pope, but one of the 12 apostle. Truth can be a hard pill to swallow when you realize something that you have placed value in, is not what you thought it was. That struggle is something we all wrestle with whether even in everyday life.

    Jesus preached to those who were not able to study the old testament for themselves, unlike the Pharisees who kept it for themselves. Do to them keeping it away from the people they easily cherry pick verses and enforce rules and the people would not and could not give it second thought. The bible was made for ALL to read to see whether or not people want to believe. God is a loving and PERSONAL father who WANTS to be the guide of your life. There is a good reason why those such as Martin Luther and William Tyndale translated the bible to the common language for all to read.

      The Catholic, Jerome, completed his translation of the Bible from Hebrew and Greek into Latin around 405 AD. That is because Latin was the language of education, so anyone who could read....could read Latin...for nearly 1,000 years. Bibles were still very expensive, due to hand copying on animal skins though, until the printing press was invented in 1440 AD. Until around 1900, 80% of the population was illiterate. The Bible did not come with a table of contents. The books included was determined by the Catholic Church in 397 AD and changed by the ex-priest Martin Luther in the 16th century.

However, there were many Simon, sons of Jonah 2000 years ago. There is only one whose name was changed to Peter. The tomb beneath the Vatican (which you can go on a tour to go see) is also labeled as such, but goes on to say "Simon, also called Peter, son of Jonah."

    Can any Catholic prove to me why worshiping Mary is Biblical? Also, what evidence do you have that Peter was a Pope? This:(Matthew 16:18) does not count. Why, because if we take that verse as meaning a Catholic Pope, then, we can make anything of a majority of scripture. Peter did help start to turn people to Christ in his letters, that is building the Church. Also Paul,inspired by the Holy Spirit wrote:(Romans 12:5). Since we know from the book of Revelations that 2 out of the 7 Churches were true Churches. Can we conclude that a religion isn't going to help anyone to Christ, only the Word of God. Since it was the Word of God in those days that led to these 2 Churches being right with God. Look at the 5 Churches in Revelation that needed repentance, now look at your religion. If your being honest, see the correlation with 2 Peter 2? Blessings to you! (Revelation 22:18)

      Kristen,
      i follow Jesus Christ and His Word alone, why do you think i do this? I would never be angered by you, thanks for the message. Now, let me ask some questions, if i may.
      what proof from the Bible do you have that Mary was without sin? Also, you have no proof that catholics started anything. I challenge you to read the book of revelation, explain to me which of the 7 churches were catholic?
      i will also add that not one of the disciples or apostles, let alone the God and Savior Jesus Christ, did anything in which i question. I take my worship and how to do so in relation to Jesus Christ. If Christ didnt pray to mary, i wont. Many other examples of what you do for worship, are no where to be found in the New Testament. Why?, because you take your doctrine from men, that is a true and utter mistake
      Prayers out to you, defend Christ, not men who think they infallible.
      I will leave you with a word from God, through Peter, inspired by the Holy Spirit. a brother in the faith, not a pope.
      Acts 10:24-26 (NASB)
      On the following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends. When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, and fell at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up; I too am just a man.”

      The Eve and Mary correlation is just awkward and outlandish at best, there is no grounds for it in the Bible. Anyone can start making up things.

The commend in Rev. 18:4 is sounding out to all believers in Jesus Christ ; "Come out from her My people", do not partake her plaque. Christ is the head of His body, not apostle Peter. "upon this rock I will build my church."in Matt.16, is upon this revelation ( the rock), when the Lord asked Peter who Jesus was, Peter said that you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. This was that revelation. We all must see who is Jesus. Also in Rev. 2:6 Jesus said He hates hierarchy (Nicolai-tans), which Catholicism practices, that is most abominable in the eye of God, because Christ is the head of the body which is the church. We all must hate what God hates, and love what God loves. Triune God is an organism, He is not an organization.

    It saddens me that anti-Catholics commenting here are so vitriolic. I don’t recall anyone trying to force you to be here. If you think you are doing Christ’s work, you are sadly mistaken. May God have mercy on your soul.

    Strong's Hebrew/Greek Concordance = Greek Terms
    # 4073 = Petra = Rock = CHRIST = Massive Boulder
    # 4074 = Petros = Peter = A Piece of a rock
    MATT 16:18
    "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter(Petros#4074) & upon "THIS ROCK" (PeTRA#4073) I will build my church & the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
    The term PeTRA #4073 (CHRIST) is used 4 times n NT. to describe CHRIST ...only!

    John 19:20
    "This title then read many of the Jews for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city & it was written in HEBREW, GREEK & LATIN. (Note: the only important languages of the day = no Aramaic

    MATT 18:16
    But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three *witnesses* evey word may be established.
    The Three Witnesses:
    1.)1 Peter 2:8 = HEBREW CULTURE
    "And a stone of stumbling & a ROCK/petra of offence even to them which stumble at the word being disobedient whereunto also they were appointed (4073)
    2.) 1 Corinthians 10:4 = Greek Culture
    "And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual ROCK/PETRA that followed them: & that ROCK/petra was CHRIST (4073)
    3.) Romans 9:33 = Latin/Roman Culture
    "As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and ROCK/petra of offence: & whosoever believeth on HIM shall not be ashamed (4073)
    On the *contrary* PetROS # 4074 is used only to describe Peter appx 158 times. = The Catholic church was invented!

      Would it be logical for Christ to call Peter by with a feminine word? The masculine form of "Petra" is "Petros", calling Peter by a feminine name is like calling a man a woman. The word "Cephas" (Kephas) is the original Aramaic word given by Christ to Peter. And this word simply means "rock."

    It's interesting that Constantine's arch has no Christian elements yet he credited the Christian God with his success.

    • @QuisutDeusmpc
      @QuisutDeusmpc Před 3 lety

      The vision that Constantine had was the banner with a cross on it. The message he heard was "In hoc signo vinces". "In this sign" (the sign of the cross) "conquer". He co-opted Christianity to unify the pagan, Roman empire which was fragmenting into the extant secular, pagan Empire (which still worshipped the ancient Greek and Roman pantheon of the gods), the Greek speaking east (centered in Constantinople, which eventually embraced Eastern Orthodoxy) and the Latin speaking west (centered in Rome, and which was overwhelmingly Catholic). If there is a banner on the Arch of Constantine (and I don't know if there is) with a cross on it, THAT is the reference to Christianity.

    Jesus said " Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Word shall not pass away." The catholic church is passing away. Jesus said the way is narrow and few find it.The catholic church follows it's own way, the wide way with its billions.

    22:20 Baloney! ""There has been no other claim for the bones of Peter. If there had we would have heard about it"" Again, BALONEY! A whole book has been written about it. An ossuary with Peter's bones was found in Jerusalem with the words Peter, son of John, brother of Andrew. Moreover, it was discovered by Franciscan brothers & archaeologists. Here is just one Y/T video about it: czcams.com/video/5BNCh91k5Yg/video.html
