Long form video is up now showing the whole process as well. In the last short, I shared the process of air layering and taking the top cutting from my monstera since it was getting too tall. So now during the repot, I incorporated her back in to create fuller plant. I used a cedar plank for support previously to train her to grow upwards and now I’m incorporating a trellis since she’s stable. Monsteras will need some kind of support as it continues to mature to help grow those larger fenestrated leaves. If you found this helpful, consider following along for more planty tips and leave any questions down below!
Hi, I've been watching your videos for a while now and I love all things to do with plants. I love that you care for them so well! ❤ I was wondering if you have any tips for a Croton. I was given a Croton Magnificent at my daughter's memorial service in 2020, and so it's very special to me. Turns out there wasn't just 1 plant in the pot, but 3! I've never had a house plant before and didn't really know what to do, but amazingly I've managed to keep them alive for 3½ years now. One of them got damaged by my kids pulling off a bunch of leaves. 😫😭 I was so scared that it was going to die. It was just a long stick with a few leaves on the top at one point, but it's now making a comeback and looks half decent. I had repotted into a much bigger pot without realizing that it should only go up by a couple inches and also before I knew that there were 3 and not 1.. I'm still not really sure how to properly care for them, but they seem to thrive on neglect.. 🤦🏽♀️ They spent a good part of last summer in a partly shady spot under a huge Oak tree in my backyard, and I brought them in when it started getting cool. They're in a big square pot now and I'm scared of if/when they may need repotting. They're about 3 or so feet tall. 1 is super big and bushy, 1 is a bit smaller but still pretty bushy, and then the one that had been damaged is the smallest but starting to be bushy. Please help! I want to take good care of them. I'm constantly shocked and in awe looking at this huge colorful bush living in my house..
"And that's it" had me smiling. Love your passion and the effort you put forth to surround yourself with happiness and things that add value to your life. You are so wonderful!
I started sweating just watching you 😂 I was brought right back to my cpr training when they told me to sing the beegees to stay on beat with chest compressions
Just from watching this I could feel it in my soul the struggle and undescribeable satisfaction felt once she was done with it. You go girl! She looks beautiful, just like you.😊😁
Girl you made it look so effortless. Mine is not as tall just very spread out and it took 3 people to get it out of the pot because it was getting root bound 😅
Glad I saw this, I'm not the only one with a monster Monstera! It's already outgrown two pots. Next spring it's just going in the ground, so I've got all winter to plan how to move the damn thing. Leaves are bigger than my torso.
I’m a crazy plant lady and it’s all your fault! 🥰 thank you, genuinely, thank you. 🙏 😊 love my plant babies and one day I’d love to have a cute little monstera… not sure if I could handle a big ole Bertha though like her though! Dayummmm! 😮 love your content!!! U be crackin me up every dang time! Thanks again!!!
Well if you get a cute little Monstera and you care for it, you'll eventually end up with a big ol' monster Monstera. 🤭 I was given a cute lil Croton that was around a foot tall, if that, in like maybe a 10 inch pot. I now have a huge bush of color that turned out to be 3 in the pot instead of 1! 😮 That's me every time I look at them. I spend quite a bit of time daily just staring in amazement of what they've grown into in the last 3½ years!
I have one a little bigger and outta control then this. And this gave me the hope and strength I needed to attempt a repot for mine. lol… seriously though, it did.
You can bury a rope with a ball at the end when you plant larger plants… then when it’s time to take it out, you pull the exposed handle or rope instead of yanking on the plant
She is CHONKY! Mine had spider mites AND thrips and I grew her back from a leafless stem that I put outside last summer and watered until she grew back. She was smol anyway but she still only has these tiny leaves 😭 FENESTRATIONS THIS YEAR!
I'm dying about the thought of me repotting and combining two of my spider plants... If you can do THIS, maybe I can handle my tiny (in comparison!) Spider plants 😂😂
Staying Alive is the song were told to sing in our heads to keep rhythym while giving chest compressions for CPR. They warned us not to sing it out loud for legal and liability reasons...don't wanna get sued, lol.
That thing is HUGE!!!! I got my first Alocasia (Amazonia) came with two leafs… actually got it to grow two more pretty quick and then they just turned pale and crispy and the third new leaf is just stuck circled up. I don’t know what to do?!? I’ve never had a plant like this and I’m like where do I chop? Do I chop?? Roots are fine, I think I just sunburned the leaves having them under my grow light so much. I had it right next to a lil humidifier in a mostly contained space so humidity was good. Man I was so excited for my first Alocasia! I have cloning paste I just don’t know where to put it lol.
And that's it! Hahaha! I had two very large monstera and I ended up propagating and giving them away. You need so much room for them! I live in a small house, so one of us had to go
This is definitely how Krystal would perform CPR on someone. Elbow straight to the chest 😆. She's stay in beat though "Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive" 💃

I would love to see that run wild through your yard over the summer
Love your work! How do you water such a LARGE plant indoors!? I feel like water would get everywhere! 😂

Kak awas jatu😊😊😊❤❤❤

You're wonderful too for making this beautiful observation and highlighting that precious moment for us 🥰💜 it was indeed wholesome!
The “suck it in” 😂😂😂
The Office reference was perfect 😂. It looks great!
It already looked huge, now it will look even more full double planted. Awesome
I started sweating just watching you 😂 I was brought right back to my cpr training when they told me to sing the beegees to stay on beat with chest compressions
She gave the plant the old "peoples elbow" 😂😂
I love your passion for your plants. May you never lose it. ❤
You: Suck it in!
Me: instantly remember growing up in the 80s/90s
Thought of Creed’s cartwheel

“And that’s it!” Girl… you are too funny! Love you so much and appreciate all your planty vibes & advice! - ❤, from a fellow Hoosier
Just from watching this I could feel it in my soul the struggle and undescribeable satisfaction felt once she was done with it. You go girl! She looks beautiful, just like you.😊😁
I just adore you and your love for plants. That was a big job.
What is your dream?
Them: I wanna be an entrepreneur doctor engi....
Mine: Wanna be plant parent of that huge mosterra 🌱
You truly are a plant whisperer. 😊
You deserve an applause 👏 for that!
What a beauty! 🤩 My plants aren't that huge yet but if you show its possible, then ill get mine to that stage too :)
"And that's it!" *Sobs* (god damn that's relatable lol)
I just reported the majority of my plants yesterday, hopefully they take well to it.
How freaking awesome
You look so excited
I love this
Wow! Stunning ! 👏 I could never dare to own one and take that much good care of it
You're amazing Krystal.
And that's it! 😅 You're too cute 💜💜💜
She is too adorable. She turns into a little girl when it comes to her plants
I have some Monstera seeds (planted during the eclipse, exactly like I wasn’t supposed to). I can’t wait till they’re this big!
What inspired you to plant them during the eclipse 😅is thr any significance ? Kindly share
@@reshmaanand1889 The fact that an old wives tale said you shouldn’t. I figure… what can go wrong?
@@OccamsSledgehammer cool...so do tell us what happened in an year or so from now..
@@reshmaanand1889 I absolutely will!
Girl you made it look so effortless.

Wonderful job ! She’s quite the queen 🪴🫶
Repotting with gusto! Way to go!
Always fun to pot plants and repot them 😂😂😂
The almost cartwheel took me out!!! 😂🤣
😂😂😂not her t-bagging the pot 😂😂😂😂oh lord I luv her 😂😂😂😂
That propagation is insane🤩🤩 the whole plant is amazing!
My jaw dropped when i saw all those bags for one pot 😭 & lmaoooo the Office audio 😂😂😂 i always think about that scene!!!
"And that's it!" 😂💚
girllll that monsterra repotting is a full workout! 😂😂😂😭😭
mad props to you for putting in all that effort! the plant looks great! 💜💜
Thank you so much!!! It was intense but I love pushing the planty limits. 🙌🏽
You had me at The Office 💚🪴
My mind does the same thing when I'm working with plants, I get a song in my head from something that reminds me of what I'm doing.
I loved that you used a dolly to get it out 🤣🤣🤣
sometimes i look at my puny (in comparison) monstera and imagine it as “huge plank of wood” monstera.. which is what i call yours in my mind 💀
The cart-wheel-ish- barrel roll thing was awesome i do those too! 😂😂😂😂😂
Glad I saw this, I'm not the only one with a monster Monstera! It's already outgrown two pots. Next spring it's just going in the ground, so I've got all winter to plan how to move the damn thing. Leaves are bigger than my torso.
The way she hopped on it like those lil kiddie park rides!!😂😂😂😂❤❤❤ (Gotta get it loose by any means!)😂😂😂
😂 never thought I’d be riding a monstera in my lifetime.
That’s a monster❤ 🤩
What a workout!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 Loving it!!
The dolly had me 😂😂

The CPR song! I'm dying!
That‘s such a huge one, I love it!!! 😍😍
So glad u used a dust mask, weird thing to say but they're important lol!
The fact you have to use a dolly ☠️ genius though, I wouldve just said "f it" and made a mess in my house lmao
What a beautiful view 🥹
Here in Arizona it’s all dry dirt and cacti 🙁
Beautiful monstera!!
Not you wheeling her out like Hannibal Lecter 😂
Oh my gosh! I can’t unsee it now 😂
I've gotten lucky so far with repottings where they just slide out. I think I'd bulge a disk doing this 😂😅
It's the people's elbow that did it. The Rock would be so proud!
Shimmy that soil! You are so good at this.
Wait til she learns you can clip their roots to boost growth 🤩
You can bury a rope with a ball at the end when you plant larger plants… then when it’s time to take it out, you pull the exposed handle or rope instead of yanking on the plant
Such athleticism ❤
Ugh I just did this too about one size down from your old pot... geeze it was work!!!
I love this so much!
Girl, you work HARD! 😂💪💚
That's huge! 💙
Love the Office reference ❤🎉
Yay! Glad you caught it!
Love your videos

You have such a big yard. Why don't you plant on the ground?
Mine is only a third of this size and it was a pain to repot 😂 i can't wait for this
You make it look so easy 😂❤
Ahah good job... (and I can't even take care of a small dying portulaca 😣)
Staying Alive is the song were told to sing in our heads to keep rhythym while giving chest compressions for CPR. They warned us not to sing it out loud for legal and liability reasons...don't wanna get sued, lol.
I feel like this needed rocky music 😂❤
Awesome 👌 👏 👍
Super Easy, Barely and Inconvenience!
❤️🍀
If the you tube gig doesn't work out Krystal you've a sterling career in gymnastics ahead of you❤❤❤😂😂😂 much love from Ireland🇮🇪🇵🇸🏳️🌈
thank you!!! I’m getting millions of calls from the Olympics for a new category called planty repots. I think I’ll win 😂
@@PlantswithKrystal I think you'll safely bag the planty repot category for sure. Love your content 🌵💐and thank you for the like💖
Can u please show us what your soil mix is for the monstera. Or do a step by step of materials
I wish I could bring you my FIL's aloe plant to repot. You'd love it. It's at least 20y old and absolutely packed with babies.

Ma'am... You have to give it a suplex.
Laaaaaawd 😩😩 you did great, big I’m scared, as a monstera owner, for myself 😅🌚
Good job😊
'and that's it' 😂
YOU GO!!
Great fun video watch the full video.
You crack me up! 🤣😄😆🤣😄😃
😅 And that's why I don't want any big potted plants unless I'm able to keep it outside all year.
One day your house is going to be too small for that plant 😂. It’s beautiful!
I’m terrified of that day 😂
And that's it! Hahaha! I had two very large monstera and I ended up propagating and giving them away. You need so much room for them! I live in a small house, so one of us had to go

That soil is crazy expensive

Wow!!
Wow. That's a big plant. Ur right. A monster
Wowwwww
I think you should repot it in the ground instead of a pot. Nature deserves this plant
