For soft fruits like grapes and berries, it's clearly better to blend them than juice them. This shows how much fruit is required just to fill a glass with juice - better to eat it in its natural form or blended- less calories and a whole lot more fibre.

You took the words right out of my keyboard.
Fruit juice is nothing but sugar. I once did a comparison of commercial juices to sodas at a restaurant/hotel I worked at. (I was overnight shift, so I had a LOT of dead time.) After multiplying all the juices X1.5 (a serving of soda is a 12 oz can vs a serving of juice at 8 oz), the juices were almost all WAY more sugar than the sodas. Only exception was the lowest sugar juice (orange) vs the highest sugar soda (Mountain Dew), and even that was a close one.

The fact that you get such a small amount of juice is why doctors etc tend to advise against drinking a lot of fruit juice, and say to just eat fruit instead. Unless you juice things yourself, most people probably don't know how much it takes to get one glass of juice.

I always find it interesting to watch juicing in general. This is why if you speak with many in the nutrition community they don’t recommend having a lot of juice in your diet (of course you do you), but when you look at how much fruit you end up having to use to get one glass it is eye opening. For example, it takes approx 3 oranges to make enough juice for 1 glass. And juicing takes out all of the good fiber. But again, you do you. I don’t judge, I eat chocolate after all. LOL….

One reason this may have been usb/battery powered is because of design shortcuts. When an appliance plugs into the wall, you have to provide filtering for the electricity going back into the wall. So having it be battery powered neglects the need to rectify AC input voltage, filtering, and a cord. Making the product cheaper to produce and easier to meet codes.

This does seem like a good option for people traveling and staying at a hotel. There's usually some apples and/or oranges down in the lobby during breakfast so you wouldn't have to swing by the store and would make for a much better drink than the typical "juice from concentrate" option you (usually) have during breakfast.
Of course, it could be improved upon. Having the lid fit in the cylinder tighter, to keep fruit from getting pushed up and not getting juiced, would be nice. Having an AC adapter would also be a plus, though maybe you can plug in the USB while using for some extra power? As far as the dispenser goes, it does seem like its just the right height for the glasses/cups you'd find offered in most hotels.
With those improvements and a better price point, I could see this being not too bad of a travel product.

Waiting for the juicer in this video to go all the way up, then all the way down, then having to clean it out every half an orange is super inconvenient...and it costs almost 3x as much with less power. It's still messy and inconvenient. I would rather prepare a bunch at home in a bigger container and then take that with me. I have a juicer already and the nice part about that is it extrudes the pulp as you go. It's much easier to juice a whole glass or more (I usually do a liter jug) and you don't have to stop. I think it gets out way more juice than this thing so there's less fruit waste, too.

To make one cup of fresh orange juice, you need three oranges. Now you know why OJ cost so much.

The orange juice you buy in the store is not the made from the same variety of orange.

I recently bought one from Amazon a month ago, I love it. I have a juicer that I have to press down on it when I juicing. . They have one that I saw on pinterst for 600 hundred dollars. so anything is better than nothing at all. and I only paid twenty nine dollars for it.

Yeah... this seems one of those products that is only worth the hassle if you really need for it to be portable... like some camping setting or something like that.
Otherwise it's just faster and easier to pull the old regular juicer and make enough juice all at once. Less mess to clean, all in one go.
Interesting how they managed to shove both a strong enough motor and batteries all in there though... I always thought that a product like this would be impractical because of basic electronics limitations.

When it comes to juicers especially portability cup things you need to consider capacity and battery power being the two biggest ones
The only problem is generally juicing is very expensive there's nothing that you can't get already in a bottle that you can't go home and experiment with any grocery store out there
If you really want to do fresh fruit and vegetable juice you're talking about getting a commercial grade juicer a juice man a jack lalane one of the smaller compact commercial-grade units but that can be very expensive to get fresh fruit and vegetables

Valencias! You need Valencia oranges, they're the best juicing oranges. I guess "best" is subjective, but its generally a rule of thumb for getting great orange juice and a good volume per orange.

I don’t know that it’s really useful for on the go like your every day errands type on the go but I do think it would be useful. If you lived somewhere where power outages were common (like somewhere hurricanes are prevalent), you could just charge it off of power Bank or off of a larger solar powered rechargeable battery thing and still have your morning juice

I really enjoy your videos, you offer so much value for consumers and curious people like me! This device seems to have a lot of promise in my opinion. Why not grab a few fruits from the fridge and this thing to throw in your car to enjoy freshly squeezed juice on your lunch break at work? Just have a Ziploc bag for the pulp. I’m also thinking that using a half of a cleaned out orange husk to put Smaller items in, like berries and greens could be useful. Might act like a gasket to keep wasted from cramming up the side. I would love to see you try out that technique.

Either the motor wears out after a year (or less), or the grinding blade wears out.

I watched so many u tube videos on how to do one, and my coffee still comes out terrible. So my new coffee press, which was only $12 on Amazon is in my giveaway stash.

The lid is pretty conical in shape, I wonder if it would be easier and potentially yield better results with the smaller fruits like grapes and strawberries to fill the lid and flip the base upside down to insert the lid, then flip it back over to actually run it. That way they would get trapped toward the middle instead of sitting on the edges in the way of the lid.

I think the problem with that product is that the fruit has to be the perfect size. That's going to be a major pain. Here in Florida we have a orange squeezer so it doesn't really matter what size the oranges just slice it and press down on the handle. I don't very highly that the motor inside that machine is going to last! Thanks for the review!
