My dad told me of how when he was in Iraq, he got a very impressive virus. What it did was, it made a copy of everything on your computer so that, when you booted into Windows it would put you into the copy and disable your antivirus so that no matter what, it would stay. He said he didn't notice for a while until he started seeing the copies of things, and so he had to meticulously go through all the files and delete the virus files, and the copies.
seems harmless after all, why would I delete it without remembering the cipher-permanent deletion on windows?

1) That's not the update screen.
2) The spinning dots thing doesn't look right.
You can get that kind of update screen if Windows 10 is given a major update, e.g. Fall Creators Update. The regular update screen that is usually seen is for minor updates.

It's always good to have a ton of VMs, for multiple MS-DOS and all Windows versions. I mean, if you need something like MS-DOS 7.10 to test running some old programs, you don't want to always reinstall such a VM, especially if you got enough disk space.

Heeyyyyy Enderman. I was looking for you. Could you make a tutorial abour how to safe test a virus on a VM? If you would do that I would be greatfull.
It's pretty simple.
Disable always the shared folders or set them to read only when you work with malware, when the malware spreads via internet is better to disable completely the connection to the VM (like in the case of NotPetya), don't put personal files or your name as username when you test malware, keep always backups of the VMs, don't keep your accounts logins in there.
Simple.
