    For desk drivers who only do this once in a blue moon in a small apartment, the very small package size is very attractive, as long as you can build it up within like 3 minutes. I always have a power screwdriver at hand though, a little 3.7V one, which speeds up such things greatly.
    I would actually call it ugly but do i care, do i really care at all?
    So here's a thought i had. at 36V, a 350W hoverboard motor has about 10Nm of torque... if you lower the voltage to 19... you'd get half that, and the power would be reduced by about the factor of 4. The rotor stator arrangement is hollow in the middle, there's empty room inside. It'll do about 300rpm at 19V, not bad.
    NOW LOOK AT THIS THING. THIS THING.

    @jens7362 Před 7 měsíci +6

    Sadly, if you're based in Germany it costs 400€ for the bundle at a local distributor or 412.90$ from the Website. So the advantage over the CSL DD is gone. Additionally with the Fanatec Pedals I can just mount a load cell kit later on, haven't seen that on any other entry DD Wheel package I found.
    But still, nice review and a unique looking wheel.

I'm also based in Europe but in my country the choice of wheels is very limited. At this price point I can get either Logitech or Thrustmaster and nothing else basically. I feel like this is the whole point of open sourcing anything, it creates a new level of accessibility weather it be cost or availability. Sure this might not he "it" with this exact setup, but i think theres a lot of potential in this approach. Im thinking something like this that can be split open and can have tradeable steering wheel that uses the standard 8 bolt pattern would be cool in the future sure its not streamlined but that costs more and at that point this product isn't for you. I think with these low end products if there's enough community behind it, some tweaking can make a really cool experience for the price. My Logitech pedals are really awesome after a ton of tinkering and community upgrades have been put into them. Ive had a lot of fun getting the to this point as well.
