As an Italian citizen myself I am very familiar with the story of Emanuela Orlandi, and I honor the courage and determination of her brother Pietro. He never stopped looking for the truth of what happened, he is still searching. This man deserves everything, especially the truth about what happened to his sister, the dear Emanuela.
A young girl was sacrificed because of the game between two groups of "evil" people. From this tragedy, we can see the inner strength and loyalty of the brother who has never abandoned his little sister after 35 years, extraordinarily! Excellent voice of the narrator!

The Brother strong longing for Justice and truth for his sister came from a deep Love for his family, but more so from his overwhelming guilt and remorse that if had he only chose to send her sister to her music Class that day none of this would have happened. Added the fact of feeling of betrayal that was perfectly lamented by his father on his death bed for the institution he served all his life with all loyalty and dedication but hugely failed him in return. I’m sure there’s more plenty of ugly, horror, sickening and sinister stories commited by the vatican more than this missing/kidnapping story that the public will never know. Also, as another user asks, which "true story"? This is a documentary which are generally truer than something you might see on Netflix which does host a story. I'd have to check his participation in that one; I think he may have though. It is similar to documentary style, but not quite. Poor guy wants as much information out to the public as possible to see what filters back in new information or tips, I'm sure.

Guilt can be a tremendous motivator but in this case it Is clear that he is absolutely not to blame for her kidnapping and must have come to that conclusion early on. You cannot deny that he very much loved his sister.
Love and loyalty is without a doubt a more powerful motivator than guilt. Observing this story with a bit of empathy (which is necessary if you want to see something in perspective) it is obvious that guilt was not his motivation more than a very small part of his tireless investigation. Feeling regret that he didn’t accompany his sister that day, yes, but not his sole motivation. There lies a very big difference. To say that he was motivated purely by guilt is a bleak accusation and judgmental statement to make.
This is vile. The Vatican definitely knows what happened and to not tell the father who dedicated his whole life to them is sickening. If there was ever an argument against the Vatican or even just organized religion it’s this. No one should have the power to call off a search for a missing child because it’ll make them look bad. Who were they worried about when predator priests were destroying children? Themselves. From the Pope down, they feel protecting the 'church' is more important than one single individual. I have to say. As a small child, around 4-5yrs old, i hated being in a church. It continued into adulthood.
I told my mother i would no longer attend church when i was 17. Of course upset she was, i told her why.

I lost my baby sister (just turned 13 yrs old, couldn't wait for her 13th bday) - she was killed in car crash on her way to school, it was raining & she had to check on her let's real quick, & missed the school bus) It was the hardest thing to go thru in my life, plus watching my parents go thru it, which they never got over. She was the first child ever killed in our entire family, generations back, & the entire family of relatives never forget her or her dealth either.
They all, everyone, no matter what ages came to her funeral & both schools of her classmates came as well, as they lined up & came in & up to the casket it ripped out hearts out at the people that loved her all showed up.

I remember the story of Emmanuela Orlandi when we lived within the Vatican walls too. My father worked in the Vatican press office with the old press machines used in binding old books and documents. I remember even then there were cameras at the Senate building and all over the Piazza Del Popolo. I find it difficult that she could disappear within the walls and not be seen.

Now at 21 minutes into the video I’m getting very concerned with the role the Vatican has played in the lack of the return of this young lady. The fact that the Vatican wouldn’t disclose what was said in his conversation with the Kidnappers is despicable. Knowing the father works directly with the Pope makes it even more Despicable. I didn’t know Vatican City was a city unto itself before this documentary. It was very interesting. I was glad I had seen before visiting Rome last year.

It was the year Italy beat West Germany in football. I remember saying, lucky Italy beat Germany, because our rental car had German license plates and would have been burnt.

I watched the story of this girl a few years ago, and it still haunts me. What that poor innocent trusting young girl had to go through behind those Vatican walls, just hurts me. She was just an innocent little girl, used and abused for fights between evil groups and these groups protected by the Vatican/Popes/"holy" people. One has to wonder why she needed to have this kind of life. Reminds me a bit of the suffering of Jesus. At least with Jesus, one can say his torturers and murderers were afraid of his powers, but what powers did this little girl have; why use her to hurt and control your enemies. I believe it had something to do with mafia money the vatican promised to keep in safe care in the vatican for them, which then was lost/stolen?
They used her to try to get the Turkish guy out of jail. They (Italian or Turkish mafia(?) ) kidnapped her hoping to exchange her for the release of that assassin.
