Imagine a group releasing an album this amazing, and then calling it quits... the greatest band of all time!
All four Beatles were still in their 20s when they called it quits
“Golden Slumbers” one of Paul’s greatest vocals ever!
Last month Paul did a surprise gig at my city(Brasília) and I was one of the few 300 lucky ones to get a ticket, watched him for 1h40m standing at the front row barrier, less than 2 meters away from him, i could even reach his keyboard if i reach out my arm, i will never forget him singing Golden Slumbers and the last medley right in front of me, never expected for something like this to happen to me, still feels like a dream, one of the best days of my life.
Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight, and The End are perfect together.

Great reaction! Abbey Road is not just my favorite Beatles album... it's my favorite album period. It's about the only album that I will listen to from beginning to end every time. I think you're right - they knew this was it and they decided to drop something on the world that no one would ever forget. Nothing like going out on top.
All 3 of the guitar players in the group did the solos on The End.
I'm 73 and you are so right about Abbey Road, it's their best work but I've had friends that would argue that the White Album is their best work.
