I am an RDH, does your course discuss laws on opening your own business, I would just like to do teeth whitening in CT, im unsure if it is legal for me to do not under supervision of a dentist

Hello! Since laws are so different everywhere - I ask that students email their dental association where they live (simple Google search) and ask them if a dental professional or non-dental professional can open a teeth whitening business. A lot of places can!

Do you need dental background to perform teeth whitening ?
NO
In some areas yes but others no
In some states the divider is whether the practitioner places their hands in the patients mouth. This requires full graduate school education and a license as a full service dentist in those states. The alternative is telling the patient how to do it themselves and making the equipment available and clean in a clinic.

@@dentalelle Oh ok. Im in the USA. At all of the offices I've worked at, we've been able to use cold sterile. I just didnt know if it was a product I could have outside of an office setting. Sorry lol I had no idea you were in Canada
@@cee_lysa2746 that’s ok! I suggest getting disposable cheek retractors outside a dental office setting. That way you know your doing the right thing :). Chemicals, etc in someone’s home requires additional training and insurance
