- Turning an intersection into a 3-D virtual model using the Trimble SX10 scanner so we don’t have to be in traffic.
The Trimble SX10 is a robotic total station plus a 3-D scanner all in one package. Pretty sweet piece of equipment that I wanted to show off.

The engineering firm I used to work for got one of those machines right before I quit to work in the woods. Working on city streets was my least favorite part of the job. Good video👍
Keep posting these! Great insight for a first semester student like me. Can't wait to play with LIDAR.
Thats awesome!
This blew my mind pretty awesome!
You're videos are great and this technology really impresses me! How much math is involved in being a surveyor?
Imagine how much more fun and easier it would be with Topcon equipment.... Just kidding.
3 man crew to cross section an intersection with a scanner is overkill to say the least. Break out the robot and have the other 2 wave flags all day so you don’t have millions of shots that you won’t use anyway
what's the soft called that you work with?
We process the data in TopoDot
What state is this? It seems like it’s Midwest
Michigan
I can confirm it's Michigan.
Not in the snow...
