- EDIT: The statement I make at 12:17 is most likely not legal! I should have thought about my knowledge of riparian rights before making this statement.
Exploring the Sanford Lake and Wixom Lake area after the dams failed during flooding in spring 2020. Sanford dam and Edenville dam both gave out due to high water and drained the entire lake/river system.

Wouldn't be a surveying video without a land owner coming to ask what you were up to haha. Very interesting video. I've had to do this exact job before, however we were collecting 20 minute static sessions on the points which made for a relaxing day.
Interesting - Kept my interest. What a cool career.
that sunflower seed cup though HAHAHA the addiction is real.
How do you start a career in surveying? I’m tired of working in a cubicle and looking for a change. Surveying looks like a low stress and enjoyable job in nature.
the city of midland is fine and fully recoverd no one seems to remember that sanford got whiped out by the flood and is not being fixed or even talked about
Where do you get that from,Jordan Mowbray talks about it almost every day since it happaned?

Hello there what equipment are you using? I been watching your previous videos.
Mostly leica equipment. Gps and total stations
@@SectionElevenOutdoors yes that what I used started with the 500 and end with the 1200. Surveying was the best job I ever had. I did all wind turbine locations and substations layouts from Buffalo Gap Texas to Lubbock Texas.
@@SectionElevenOutdoors But I have done it all title, construction and ranch surveying.
enjoyed the video.. and no, its not legal to venture onto the dry lake bed. private property. If I'm not mistaken, the land is owned by the same people who own the dams that failed.
I suppose i should have thought out that statement before i spit it out on camera. I know all about Michigan’s riparian/littoral ownership laws. It just seemed like a cool idea at the moment.
@@SectionElevenOutdoors don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to cruise around there myself. its like a huge off-road course!
A river runs through it...........I hope they let the river run wild......
