    I'm a self taught tuner and have been tuning for the last 4 years. There is so much information online sometimes it's hard to know what is good or not. Mat Sanford mentioned you in one of his videos and that led me to your page. Thanks for all the great info and the awesome tools. Your hard work does not go to waste! Even though I only do Gen 3 stuff there's lots of great info you share so thanks again!

      I ran into all kinds of install and fitment issues with the new intake due to having the taller aftermarket heads, but the car is back together and running. I do plan on doing a final video on the XS intake to report the issues. Dyno session did not go smoothly, but that is a long story.

      @@SilverSurfer77 right now I’m suspecting it was was caused by the oil pump o ring or the camshaft retaining plate seal not getting enough oil pressure, I’ve got a standard lsa high pressure and high volume oil pump, should be normally 40+ psi at idle and when it was hot it would go as low as 20psi at idle, I think I messed up when putting the oil pump back on and damaged the o ring

    Within the short span of just 32 minutes, you've illuminated intricacies that took me yearlong efforts to comprehend. Your cogent progression of thought in explaining complex concepts has substantially simplified their understanding. Looking back, if I had chanced upon this informative video four years ago, I would have saved myself an immeasurable amount of time spent in trial and error, thus avoiding the frustration related to diagnosing my inconsistent fuel trims. My sincere gratitude for generously imparting your specialized knowledge in such an easily digestible manner.

    The information and your way of relaying this information is amazing
    Since I'm lazy whenever I can be, is there any reason why not just use "Excel Fill series" function instead of interpolating the missing data from the missing MAF cell?
    Also, does the torque mgmt filter work with manual transmission as well? I've always filtered with TPS and stuff, gonna try your way any day now 👍 can't wait for VVE 2.0

    • @SilverSurfer77
      @SilverSurfer77  Před 3 měsíci +1

      You know...of all my time using Excel just about everyday I have never used the Fill function this way lol. You taught me something! Hopefully I don't forget it!
      You can try with the Tq Mgmt Advance filter...but it probably won't work on a manual. There may be some variances with OS's though.

      Alright, will have to find a suitable filter function similar to the torque management option. Maybe there's something suitable in the HP tuners thread about tuning with Dyn Air.

      Yeah I totally agree. When I first started out I was scared to touch anything in the tune, but after watching Kyle I developed enough confidence and inspiration to start trying on my own. Who knows how many tuners he has created and educated over the years. He has got to be one of the most valuable and dedicated guys out there. Not many people have done as much for tuning as he has IMHO!

    I can’t thank you enough for the knowledge and tools you’ve shared. Im a beginner and your videos have given me a big leg up. Watching this video I see that your filter uses “Throttle Position Sensor” pid 50090. That pid is not available in my channel list. The “TPS” pid I have available is in voltage not percent. I’m using pid 2111, can I just swap this pid number into your filter formula?

    • @SilverSurfer77
      @SilverSurfer77  Před 9 měsíci

      Glad you are finding all this helpful! What ECM are you working with?
      While there are subtle differences between the different throttle positions PIDs, as long as you find one that you can transform to a percent, you should be able to drop that right into the filter function and be all set.

    • @drmerdp
      @drmerdp Před 9 měsíci

      It’s e38 from an 11 yukon Denali. I’ll swap pids. On a side note, Im excited for the release of the VVE 2.0 tool. Thank you.

      You can copy the XML files to your local machine...
      C:\Users\\OneDrive\Documents\HP Tuners\VCM Scanner\
      There will be a folder for custom math, gauges, charts etc
      You can copy from my google drive listed in the video description:

    I’m having an issue with the filters for the dynamic air tuning. When I apply the filters no data is populating. I’ve even checked to make sure I have the proper pids. My ecm is an e78. Any suggestions?

    • @SilverSurfer77
      @SilverSurfer77  Před 7 měsíci

      I have never done anything with an E78 before, kind of a rare bird! What I normally do is remove all the filters and then slowly start applying them back in one by one to see where things fall apart. One possibility is the fuel trim cell PID. The logic I normally use for this works great on the regular Gen4 ECM's but does not seem to work as well for Gen5's. The E78 is a Gen4 ECM, but it was a transitional ECM to the Gen5, so there may be some changes as part of that. If applying the PIDs one at a time doesn't reveal anything feel free to email me the log and I will see what I can see.
