Sorry. They are all dead. The bible refers to all living believers as saints. But I suspect you used that word in the Catholic sense. Yet Patrick, a bishop of the British Celtic Culdee church was never made a saint by RCC.
@@geordiewishart1683 The Celtic Christian Church was reconciled to the Catholic Church at the Synod of Whitby. Obedience, holiness, and unity are central aspects of Catholic spirituality, all are essential on the Christian path. The best people to explain the Christian faith are all the Apostolic Churches, Catholic and Orthodox, and all of them assert and believe that those who have lived truly holy lives have passed through the Particular Judgment and are enjoying the fullness of life in Heaven, they are the Church Triumphant. The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains this very well.
@@geordiewishart1683 I can suppose you believe that Christian truth is eternal and so any church, Celtic or Catholic can share Christian truth, regardless of who was established in the region first. I share your respect for the Celtic Christian Church but maybe it was best in the long term for the Celtic Church to give their allegiance to the Catholic Church. To call it" subjugation" you would have to specify what loss of freedoms the Celtic Church suffered, or what errors they had to accept.
I never thought I'd see this wonderful sight of Archbishop of Armagh and thousands of people on the hill of Slane. I'm from Louth and I grew up 14 miles from Slane. I do not wish to offend anyone ,But the Easter vigil is held after sunset on Holy Saturday, concluding the Paschal Triduum. In remembrance of the Resurrection of Jesus, the Catholic mass according to Roman rite begins with a big celebration of light an open fire is lighted outside the church and blessed by the priest; when the Paschal candle is lit, the community ceremoniously enters the dark church chanting Lumen Christi and Deo gratias. As it is not the season of Lent, Easter, this ceremony has nothing to do with Easter, were does it come from . Its a very legitimate question to ask.
@geordiewishart1683 Yeah, that Babylon Mystery Religion (tm) was the one that decided what Gospels and letters should go into the New Testament. If it wasn't for a church council in the 390s AD (a whole 2 generations after Constantine), you'd still be reading a whole long list of apocryphal letters or even Gnostic Gospels. You're welcome.
St Patrick promoted his mission to the pagan Irish by lighting a beacon fire on the Hill of Slane in a direct challenge to the High King whose status demanded that he should be the first tolight a Beltane fire. Slane lies on a line of former pagan shrines across Ireland and would have been chosen as St Patrick's beacon fire could be seen from the kings residence at Tara. Ireland became the "Land of Saints and Scholars" and the powerhouse of Western European Christianity. The flame of St Patrick has been dimmed a little recently but will never be snuffed out while Ireland has such faith as you see in the video. It only took a small team of zealous peeople to convert Ireland and a small team can fan the embers back into a blaze.

I'm sorry, forgive my ignorance, don't understand what this is about ,I have never seen this ceremony,( blessing a fire), in our Catholic church. Is it hidden some were in the documents of Vatican II ?. Is it ecumenical in nature ?(what will our protestant neighbours make of this?), or is it just plain old paganism dressed up as Catholic?, isn't it similar in nature to the stomach churning idolatry of pachamama, that took place in the Vatican garden 4 October 2019,just before the out brake of covid .
What???? Easter vigil when a fire is lit outside every year. St Patrick lit the pascal fire. Did you never read that. It was a blessing to attend. Thousands there
Not at all, this is a re-enactment of a very brave act by St. Patrick 1500 years ago, on the Hill of Slane, when he put his life at risk to light the light of Christianity, against the express orders of the Pagan king of Ireland who was on the nearby Hill of Tara. The King immediately sent his warrior's to arrest St. Patrick, who miraculously escaped. Later St. Patrick did convert the King, (and Ireland), to Christianity. The Bishop presiding here is the direct successor of St. Patrick.
Pray for us Saint Patrick, that Ireland will be faithful to God once again and be a light for Christ.

Sectarianism is predicated on the assumption that denominations represent the same religion.
