01:35 "...Annd let's just go ahead and take a dump on that for 3 solid minutes. . . "
Bless you Steve. I was looking for a live perfomance to see the fingering and suddenly find the master himself showing me. We love you, we really do.
I remember playing this intro to my mum and her refusing to believe that it was from Genesis.
"It's Tarrega"
"No mum - it's Genesis"
"Well, they must have pinched it off Tarrega"
i thought that too and also steve howe
Thanks for all the wonderful music you've given to us, Steve. In the early 1980s, a writer said, "He joined Genesis and they became interesting; he left and they became predictable." No argument from me.
This thing has haunted me ever since the first time I heard it as a 14 or 15 yo. Still rings in my head every now and again. That's the genius of Steve Hackett I guess.
This is why I love musicians. True musicians share their passions and talents with the world that ought to hear it.
Hackett is the reason why I decided to learn to play the guitar, if I had at least 10% of his guitar skills I would already be satisfied.
I didn't realize this was here. I gave a lesson as well and got much of it right thankfully
I love listening to this tune when on holiday in The Gambia, wish I was there now, love this tune, truly fantastic
after 1 week I'm still on the first 25 seconds. whew
you are the reason i learned how to play guitar. i have seen you many times live. amazing.thanks for close up of my favorite song
He's still got it, ooow it never went away!
I’m just getting into guitar (at 24 too so late into the game), but Steve Hackett is my main inspiration. All his material on Genesis and his solo work is just awe inspiring. My goal is to reach a level where I can play this medley without any error. It may takes years to get even close but dammit I’m gonna do it. Thank you Mr. Hackett for the inspiration.
Haha, same here. Steve inspired me to start playing the guitar as well, at the age of 25. It's probably going to take a good few years to get to where I can play something like this but it'll be worth the effort.

Sei una meraviglia Steve!
sounds as good as back in the day >Steve< keep on /
OK THAT'S IT...I QUIT NOW...i am going home to burn all my guitars...anybody want any cheap used gear and badly played at that?!?!?...
Thanks always Mr. Steve and LL...actually very inspiring, I wish I had continued my classical studies years ago...once I discovered women it has been the blues ever since, haha
Was motivated by all the Steves (1-Howe, 2-Hackett, 3-Morse) and Alex Lifeson and Rik Emmett to play classical style but only Hackett has continued, publicly at least, to showcase it?!?!?!
Dark and grey, an English film, the Wednesday play...
Soon classic incomparable
MALUCO TOCA DEMAIS MANO
voici le maitre le compositeur important de Genesis ........... merci le génie
That was beautiful until the start of the really obnoxiously loud advertisement.
Thanks Steve. its a privilege to learn from the master.
When are you coming to Israel again?
hillarious... 3 thumbs down... bet you they dont play... how can you not hear brilliance.
That fingering at 1:01 is just rude.
That outro screen was quite sketch.
dad??
I hope Richie Kotzen never finds out what his last name means in German.
Puke. But this isn't about him but Hackett. What does that name mean?
anyone knows how to play minute 1:04 ? im stucked
albornoz91 I use both hands and precise finger coordination.
