Just take your time presenting don't feel rushed take all the time in the world. Don't be a victim of your negative thoughts, always think positive. Also getting nervous during a presentation is completely normal just give yourself reassurance telling yourself "everything is gonna be alright" and " what's the worst that can happen". Bottom line just don't give a shit k bye👍🏼💪🏼

What is so painful, is that speaking anxiety usually comes from elementary school, atleast it did it for me. The first few years, I loved to stand out, be myself, but after a couple of years, it changed. Didn't take many years before the teachers started going more in-depth with the presentation, they wanted us to make a powerpoint and instead of having a text infront of us, we had to remember it all This was all fine, I used to speak fluently without text and have never used a text while speaking infront of people. After a presentation the teachers usually asked questions, sometimes discussion ones, sometimes they asked why you think like that etc, the list goes on and on. This is where it all shattered, they started asking way to many questions, and most of them I had already answered in the presentation itself. My motivation turned into fear and I became this person who basicly is a brick wall. Nothing has changed since then, except the fear which has grown. I hate speaking infront of people, even if it is just a small group of like 5 people, I can't take it, I can't breathe, I can barely speak, my mouth gets super dry and I have problems concentrating. And this is all a result of teachers going to rapidly and not paying enough attention.
I don't know how others experience speaking anxiety, nor how they got it. But this is my story, and it isn't very detailed as I am not the best at explaining things. Feel free to tell me your story, if you happen to have one.
PS: My english grammar isn't the best sometimes so if you find any big grammar problems, let me know and if you told me a correct way to express myself, I'd gladly take that information. Merry Christmas!

    • @awangie

@@einyoutubenutzer5184 Ik, the ssme thing happened to me. However, I still am scared to raise my hand but still force nyself at least 3 times a day even if the teacher does not call on me to practice when I actually want to. Anxitey comes from inscuraity and I'm still trying to overcome it. Like when I have this test getting a wrong answer freaks me out, which is so annyoing. I got my anxiety when I realized I stutter which is dumb bc I always did. I'm still trying to maintain it and it's not to bad just when I say something I have to start it off wih like a sentence or else i'll stutter. We can overcome this togethere!

Change your perception, you can change yourself... don't be lazy, always keep your mind busy in work. Don't bother about people.Even if thousands of people make mockery of you,Tell yourself you are the best. Don't let others judge you, you judge yourself and choose your path. Practice to change your perception regarding you everyday, praise yourself infront of mirror , even if you are not good at sth, but want to. Don't get too much attached to people emotionally, don't try to convince others that you are right , just convince yourself that you are right, and you don't bother about what others say you. I speak more than one language. My native language is Brazilian Portuguese, but I also speak English and French (and a little bit of Spanish and Italian).
What I find interesting is that I tend to express a different kind of personality depending on the language I'm speaking. In Portuguese, I'm an average Joe, friendly and with a healthy amount of self-esteem. In French, I tend to be a lot more shy than usual and perhaps in order to compensate for that I tend to go out of my way to act nice towards people. In English, and I don't know why, I tend to be cocky and arrogant. So I think I have a kind of triple-personality depending on the language I'm speaking (which is odd - perhaps I should seek help).

I hate talk infront of people and I needed to give a presentation and my hand shakes so bad I couldn't read the cards anymore and a friend next to me hold my hand but I panicked so much. god I hate myself. and I hate to talk in class anyway, so there are teachers who randomly ask me to say something to the topic and I panic, and afterwards I cry. like everytime. and I know that I know the answers but I'm too anxious. and I cry most of the time after I said something in class, even if i piped up (I wanted to say something) but that makes it so hard for me to get good marks, most of the time I have a 2 in the class tests and a 4/5 as my oral mark (sorry I really don't know the word). but there are also lessons like physics or French, where I fail the tests and have a bad speaking mark, which totally ruins my marks. this year, in quarantine, I just had the half year, so I get a 4 in most of the lessons because there wasn't a class test. last year I talked to my history teacher before the test and he gave me a 4- in speaking and he ask me how I wanna pass this, and i said with the test. he kind of thought I wouldn't get this, but I had a 2 in the test and when we talked about the marks he literally said he was angry when he gave me the 2 and he asked me why I couldn't talk in class and I cried. damn it I'm 16 y/o and it was embarrassing. but anyway, I can't get over that. it's different in the subjects, for example in math, where I haven't any problem to talk. or let's say it's easier. but in French, I can't say a single word. I have an old teacher and everyone is afraid of him, especially me. he's mean. once he asked me to come in front of the class to the blackboard and I said I don't want to. I had a bad day and I knew I would have started to cry when I would stay in front of everyone. but he continued talking to me and I start crying and he was like ,,Pia, you can't just start crying. when you've a job and someone ask you something you can't start crying too." and he talked to me for another 3 minuits and then he let it go and I ran out of class and cried for the rest of the lesson. I had an oral exame with the same teacher in French and i cried an hour before and my partner panicked a bit. it got so worse that my nose start bleeding 10 minutes before the exam and it needed to be moved for another half hour. my partner hated me, but in the exam, I got calmer and passed it while my partner couldn't find a single word and failed. anyway, speaking anxiety hits me very bad most of the time

I have suffered speaking anxiety for as long as I can remember. I had problems talking to others in my mother tongue for years until I figured out that it was not going to help my life, so I forced myself to interact with others even though I made heaps of mistakes that got me plenty of negative thoughts. Eventually, I managed to pull through. Then learning English is the same case, but what has got me stuck is that I constantly have that negative thought that I can't talk well which is not true at tall. The last advice was gold, I will put 'I am an excellent English speaker' in my mind, after all, it is confidence that counts.

Best way to strengthen your mind is to learn singing and sing loudly. Perceive things +ve, even if a person is criticising you or talking nonsense about you , ignore him, tell yourself that you are the best.
Daily exercise your brain, balance anger, sadness, excess happy...all are slow poision for anxiety, and yeah fear integrated with psychological thoughts .

I´ve been reading the contents of Rebecca´s website. It´s really useful but I would try to improve the visual aspect of the website. There are too words and no images. It´s a bit tough to follow....But apart form this little detail, I think it´s fantastic!

because in real life (in the classroom) Emma's lessons wouldn't be as effective, as they are in here. well.. sometimes I follow her lesson and have no idea what it is all about. it's just pleasant to my eyes to watch her, to look at her pretty face (without embarrassment : ) and to try to look into her beautiful eyes. and obviously.. to my ears -to listen to her voice, the way she pronounce or rather she giving out a sounds, some are clear other are inarticulate like when swallowing or taking the breath etc. then after that, when you see whole lesson which would be rather called performance (because you fulfilled your senses (which is pleasant:), and not the brain, but it is O.K. now you can rewind :P and start to watch again and finally start to think waht it was all about. I never learned English at school (we've learned Russian and German) so I know this language just from manuals and you know movies or my fav songs/lyrics. but I'm finding her channel like an excellent mine of knowledge, and opportunity of course for young ppl
    from Poland with love :*
