Sorry for your pain. My husband walked out on me and my two boys 43 years ago never seen it coming. He broke my heart and movedfar away. Never contracted his boys never. I would imagine this is dilemma for so many today. We are forced to another place, to survive - though home is overwhelming our thoughts. I have lived this and still, but 38 years plus this is my home. Went back, a friend or two, some family, - but the visions in my memories were just that, memories, real, but of a point in time. They are my treasures, protected from the erosive waves of time/humanity.
Been sitting here with my Billboard Joel Whitburn books and going through the index alphabetically. Every top ten hit from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Next up; Helen Reddy; I Am Woman
Me too. Hot August Night was the first album of Neil's I heard, back in the early 70's. Grey cover 12 greatest hits was the first LP i ever bought. When I was depressed and with no direction, my father gave me Jonathon Livingstone Seagull. Neil Diamond is fantastic.
Through the years, it has come to me that THIS is the song of Neil Diamond's that I always make sure to play! The words, the music, and oh my god ...... that voice!

They are still with us, and thank goodness for that, but if you look 👀 at programmes like Britain’s/Americas got talent, the voice etc you will find that there are some artists, solo or groups, like Collabro, Susan Boyle, Callum Scott to name a few, who sing from the heart and soul new and emotive songs, and some older works given a new twist but without loosing the meaning, music is the food of life and as I get old(er) I love hearing those songs and artists that I grew up with and that bring back memories, good and bad, Neil Diamond has to be in my top 10 singers, but all my top ten are number one, I don’t want to decide. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴🇺🇸🇺🇦
I think the world has gone through a lot over the past few years, i find happiness and tranquillity listening to music such as this, and no one more so than Neil Diamond, i suddenly find myself at peace with the world
We had the privilege of seeing Neil play live before he finally called it a day and he was fantastic.. All the best Neil, you have brought joy to millions
My father brought my brother & myself up , used to take us away fishing for days & nights at a time , sleeping in the back of a utility , and this is what i remember so well playing the old 8 track tapes of Neil Diamond .... My father would sing so loud ... I can still hear his voice .... He passed away 5 years ago ... Thanks for the memories pop ... R.I.P.

So many great songs bring us down memory lane, our youth, our lazy Sunday doing nothing, our puppy days…our sad days, our friends who left us earlier and love one who grow old. Our everything which don’t belongs to us. Memories are most precious NOT money.

Yes, it really is amazing. Some songs are linked to their decade. This song is looking for meaning in life. I think songs exploring such fundamentals can last forever. I bet people will "discover" this song in 30 or 50 years after Neil has passed, and they will play it then too. People who never were alive when Neil was alive.
This to me is one of his best. It resonates with my soul so many times. “I got an emptiness deep inside and it won’t let me go”. I am I cried and I am said I and I am lost and I can’t even say why!
I think this song is the most gripping by this artist. The combination of text and melody makes me think and brings tears to my eyes again and again. It is one of many of his world hits. Best wishes, Neil Diamond, from Germany!
This song has always resonated with me , for many reasons . There are times in life when you have many people around you , but still feel alone . Because of certain life events the emptiness doesn't escape you . It's always there in the background, haunting you . Definitely a song that sticks in your dark recesses. Thank you , Mr.Neil Diamond , for creating yet another masterpiece.

It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our hearts…
Sorry for your pain. My husband walked out on me and my two boys 43 years ago never seen it coming. He broke my heart and movedfar away. Never contracted his boys never. Treated them like they never existed. He is dead to me
We were only married 11 years. The good thing about it was he was the best thing that ever happened to me and then he dumped me.
@@annaniedzialek7205 hey there! I’m so sorry about your husband’s attitude, wondering what could have been his reason of such ill attitude. It must be really difficult but I’m glad you’re staying positive for your boys. I wish that my late wife could come back to see how brave of a young woman our daughter had grown up to be. I wish that my adorable daughter could have known how wonderful of a person her mother was, death takes a huge toll on you and you mostly never get over it.
Sending you love always ❤🎉🎉🎉
Love his music, my brother turned me on to his music. My brother ron just passed away. For Ron. Love and miss you
He is absolutely brilliant and talented! He knows human emotion that we all feel alone. God blessed us with him
Neil diamond is very understanding of human emotions and a great interpreter of the human condition ?
Isn't it the fact that he brings us together by singing about being alone. I so love Neil Diamond. especially Be

My husband is 73 it would be his dream if he could see you in concert!!! His name is Donald Edward Evens. From Dalton ga.
Neil Diamond just is a Musical Genius 😊🎉❤
August 2020. Who is here loving and needing this and his music right now?

I truly appreciate this song by this song by Neil Diamond and feel the pain of what his words are about , such sadness and unbearable loneliness !
One of the greatest singer/ songwriters of the 20th century.
Played this at my Grandads funeral. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. RIP. Big Louie xxx
Without doubt one of the greatest singer, song writers ever. 😊.
Been a fan of Neil Diamond since I was a kid in the 70's.
Me too. Hot August Night was the first album of Neil's I heard, back in the early 70's. Grey cover 12 greatest hits was the first LP i ever bought. When I was depressed and with no direction, my father gave me Jonathon Livingstone Seagull. Neil Diamond is fantastic.
Thanks Neil for such timeless memories
I've got drunk so many times listening to the Brazilian version of this music, but I didn't even know it originally came from Neil Diamond.
Through the years, it has come to me that THIS is the song of Neil Diamond's that I always make sure to play! The words, the music, and oh my god ...... that voice!

Childhood memories....Where have all these great artists gone! With times like these we could sure use some real good music!
Agree!
I think the world has gone through a lot over the past few years, i find happiness and tranquillity listening to music such as this, and no one more so than Neil Diamond, i suddenly find myself at peace with the world
Their music lives on forever. The cr@p that is considered music today reminds us all what true artists are, like Neil Diamond.
It will never be
We had the privilege of seeing Neil play live before he finally called it a day and he was fantastic.. All the best Neil, you have brought joy to millions

Love Neil Diamond. So many memories.🇿🇦♥️🎼🇿🇦
This song sums up profound loneliness like no other ever has or will. One can be utterly lonely surrounded by thousands. Loneliness becomes a blanket and in time... A comfort.
The voice of a living genius. They'll never be another close.
Well said
There are'nt enough words to describe Neil Diamond. He's the scale every singer strives for, but will never reach - Live on Neil!!!!
A great tribute to a fantastic singer/song writer
I agree with David. We will never see another Neil Dimond as a singer songwriter, I never see him surpassed by anyone. Dave in Sierra Vista AZ
Even trying to quietly sing along with him seems poor! A gifted, glorious sound he is.

A true artist ❤
So many great songs bring us down memory lane, our youth, our lazy Sunday doing nothing, our puppy days…our sad days, our friends who left us earlier and love one who grow old. Our everything which don’t belongs to us. Memories are most precious NOT money.
I think they move me to the front. I wasn't well and I think some guy named anthony had to out do me on my job. I dont know what all goes on under my cabin. Few pups left .no bad smells. Oh, I am o.k. now. Take me off block and I wont have to contact u on neil diamond song. I saw it. I knew. Powwow did it. That might b too personal.
So very true...
Question: Do you still sing along with them? I do while feeling like a teen again. ❤️🇨🇦
So true, I appreciate your note. Most of us don't even realise what we actually have.
Hermosa frase David. si no te molesta me gustaria copiarlo. Saludos desde el sur del mundo. (Patagoni)
Neil Diamond rocked me right back from the early seventies.
Mein Vater liebte dieses Lied. Ich denke an ihn und höre es. Er ist 2019 gegangen. Als ich ein Kind war haben wir es gemeinsam gehört.
Thanks Mom for playing Neil Diamond when i was a kid. It makes me think of you when i hear him. ❤ xx

Its hard to believe that this song is almost 50 years old. It is timeless.
I was 10 years old when I first heard this 50 years ago! Timeless!
I´m from Austria and I LOVE this song!!!

Im born 1982. This was way before my time. But man, Neil Diamond is awesome. And in particular this song ! Love this !
I feel so privileged to of seen him live in concert many years ago in Manchester. He was amazing ❤
This to me is one of his best. It resonates with my soul so many times. “I got an emptiness deep inside and it won’t let me go”.
I am I cried and I am said I and I am lost and I can’t even say why!
Feel this 💯 😢
Some thing must make you sad,i just hope you feel what it is,and you find joy in your life,
On one of his last albums, he sang a song about how he found that peace in God.
Love that...
Me encanta esta voz! Es fascinante llega al fondo del corazón 😘,!!!
I agree I had an emptiness when I first heard this song sad times
His songs tell stories that we can relate to. Real music. It does not get much better than Neil Diamond.
Wowww! 😊 It's a beautiful song, I love it. 😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️🎧
I think this song is the most gripping by this artist. The combination of text and melody makes me think and brings tears to my eyes again and again. It is one of many of his world hits.
Best wishes, Neil Diamond, from Germany!
Very nice song
Pure talent
Hallo Rainer, bin auch Deutsch
This song has always resonated with me , for many reasons . There are times in life when you have many people around you , but still feel alone . Because of certain life events the emptiness doesn't escape you . It's always there in the background, haunting you . Definitely a song that sticks in your dark recesses. Thank you , Mr.Neil Diamond , for creating yet another masterpiece.
