About that Truck: sounds like a 5cil Volvo or Audi. 🎶
About the Buick, on acceleration it is squatting like it wants to take off. Install some stiffer (helper or wagon) springs in the back. That will reduce weight transfer from the front to the back .
You want the weight to STAY on the front wheels for good traction.

I have a ‘01 ultra that I bought as a beater. And I have to concur. It is hilarious. Breaks loose at stoplights with anymore than half a boot-full. The “passing gear” pull (particularly useful out in the country where I live) is the best. Crack the throttle, kick down, M90 whine, 45-70+ in a blink, and barely hits 4,000 rpm. It’s a complete hoot. What a ridiculous hilarious and wonderful thing it is!

I did EXACTLY this on the airboxes in all 4 of my 3800s back when I drove them for work cars over the years (1998 Regal LS, 2002 Regal GS, 2004 Regal GS, and 2004 Park Avenue Ultra), only I used rivets to put them back together. Filters got dirty faster, but the throttle response actually improved noticeably and I could hear the engine/blower a hundred times better.
The Regal GSs are honestly a pretty damn fun car for cheap as dirt, and super reliable and comfortable. I switched to small, sporty, fwd work cars once my old truck finally gave out and it became impossible to find V8 4x4 trucks with manual transmissions (I have to have at least one stick in the fleet that gets used regularly for my mental health), and the Focus/Fiesta STs that I replaced the ol’ Bufords with are faster and a lot more fun, but nowhere near as comfortable or reliable (almost nothing is, in fairness). I kinda-sorta miss them.

Comp Cams kit, intercooler, Mahle pistons, North star TB, powder forged rods (stock from 2000- on), counter rotating balance shaft removed, double-row timing chain, LSD transaxle w/built internals, poly bushing dog bones & solid lower motor mounts- not a problem with this car and it's been together for years

I consider myself a 3800 enthusiast, as strange as that sounds these days. My GTP has a filter on it to make the S/C loud, it's awesome. It turns plenty of heads because nobody expects that sound from a Grand Prix. I believe a generic cold air would be louder and dropping some pulleys would also achieve the same thing.

The reason we hate torquesteer is wheelhop in FWD and snap understeer. Both are the worst! Like being shaken to death, and it may literally shake the car till it breaks. Now that does vary by engine placement and weight, so a heavier car may not shake you to death, but torquesteer is an easier to understand term rather than wheelhop. When you say wheelhop, most people think RWD, making it more confusing.

Agreed. Replace all of the mounts with quality units.
