  • In Part Two of the SRI conversation with Willie Perkins, the Allman Brothers' saga continues with breakups and reunions as well as the formation of an offshoot group called Sea Level. Willie brings the story all the way back from the late 1970s and continuing up to the 2020s. #WilliePerkins #SeaLevel #GreggAllman

Interesting insights and stories from Willie and glad to hear you mention Duane Betts. I've seen him play with varoius bands in Socal and at times with Pedro Arevalo. Two of the most talented, nicest and most humble guys you'll ever meet.

A lot of first hand history just being shared. Love hearing these stories, and feel it’s really important that they are shared while they still can be. Thanks WILLIE and to the SRI !

You should do a part 3 and 4 with Willie. You could do a whole part just on Fillmore East. I want to know every detail was it really as magical as it is to us listening to it these 50 years what was the mood of the guys before during and after. Did the band know that they just did something epic one of the greatest live albums of all time? I think Willie's perspective is really important because he's not a musician but their greatest fan and supporter sounds like. I want to know everything about Fillmore East. What was it like playing hours and hours on end. I can't believe we didn't get a live version of Dreams that came out good from those concerts. I've heard a hundred different versions all of them amazing but Greg's microphone was messed up at the Fillmore but Duane sounded just incredible I've listened to that solo dozens and dozens of times. I've had several copies at Fillmore East first one I got in 1972 I've worn them out and keep getting new ones. The Allman Brothers the only band I have listened to pretty much on a weekly basis for 50 years. But would also love to hear Willy's thoughts on the ABB after Warren joined in 1989 until they finished in 2014. I think that was America second greatest band and of course America's greatest band ever was the original ABB. But don't feel bad Chris I'm a major Marshall Tucker fan also. I have been to numerous ABB, Marshall Tucker, Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts concerts over the years. Thanks Chris, this is an amazing Channel.

Chris Hicks great job yet again. However, two questions I wish you would’ve asked Willie P 1. Gregg sang a duet with Don Johnson of Miami Vice fame on the I’m No Angel album called “No Evidence of Love” which Don co-wrote. Don at that time had a platinum selling record based on the popularity of Miami Vice. Why didn’t they do a video and release it as a second single at that time? Seems like a no brainer. 2. Gregg pretty much disparaged Willie in his autobiography. Did they ever get things straightened out before GA passed? Bring Willie back for part III.
