Not that you need me to say this, but here's why this song is brilliant. Devo, who at the time were still convincingly performing as something between humans and the next step in human to machine de-evolution (actually very topical if you've ever watched people interact with their devices nowadays), do a "wild rock & roll song" as performed by men-machines. Machines do not have uncontrollable urges, so this is a parody of what it would be like if robots played, say, Jerry Lee Lewis. And they do it marvellously convincingly. Plus the song really does rock. And the "nein, nein, nein" background vocal gives it just a bit more edge. Köstlich.
One of the best live examples of these guys on video. They had the goods. Tight, tight, tight.

HOW did it take me this long to find this???? THANK YOU! I saw them in Pittsburgh, PA at Stanley Theatre late 1980 or 1981, My high school girl dumped me but the concert was a blast :-) helped get me ready for the Army. Little did I know THAT was right around the corner. I even remember the radio ad for the New Traditionalists. Look where our old traditions got us? I also think it said buying DEVO stuff isn't the same as spending money, its a blow against the empire. Good times, good times.
These were the days when Devo was at its peak ! They were the best but they never impressed me nowadays as old men! They've lost their sound after 40 years 😮!!
