    Interesting machine. Good to see Creality providing a budget oriented improvement over the typical v-wheel bed slinger.
    The rods in the Y are good to see. Most bed slingers are limited by the y for both speeds and quality (ringing etc).
    The change to the orientation in the X* might be because the KE has a rail on top? So even though this uses wheels on the X they can use similar base parts...?
    Love seeing load cells on printers. Essentially a solid state component with moving parts. I hope printer developers can start to use them as more than just binary levelling switches.
    A UI indicator for whether something is a sub menu or actionable button should definitely be added

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  Před 8 měsíci +1

      That’s a great question. I’m not sure the auto z offset would be as accurate because it relies on the under bed pressure sensor but I think it’ll still work. worth a test! the bed leveling would be fine though, it uses a CR touch for that.

      I forget, clean the Rods few times. And the noise from the rods/bearings it's a bit dust. Prusa was the same and the bearings need time to get smother! This is for every Bearings in the World! Clean the rods and the Rest from the grease, because grease and dust love to sticky together. If you like new grease on the rods and push the bed few times. Clean again. If you like. Enjoy it!

    @jclosed2516 Před 10 měsíci +1

    A very thorough review. Clear and detailed. Good work!
    Just a few remarks: I would have liked to see how the first layer was printed. That would have showed how close the auto calibration turned out to be. Secondly - It would have been nice if you showed us what slicer Creality has chosen. Is it Cura based? Prusa slicer based? I have no doubts there will be a profile available for both the Cura and Prusa slicer (or even the BambuLabs based slicer), but for now it has to be the Creality slicer. Oh - and a tip. I know those build plates from Creality. Strange as it may sound, you can avoid models sticking too hard to these kind of build plates by using a thin layer of spray adhesive. I personally use 3DLAC witch is a cheap but very effective spray that will last hundreds of prints (you mostly only have to spray once for several prints).
    Considering the Menu. I agree it is counter-productive to show menu items as submenu, while in reality it's a toggle. That's confusing. However - Is this not pointed out in the manual? Most Creality machines come with a decent manual and a menu lay-out. Especially a beginner will read that manual before clicking all kinds of buttons.
    It seems Creality is as close as possible to a inexpensive "plug and play" 3D printer. I think that's a good thing, especially for those that are new to 3D printing. I certainly are tempted to try this model out for the price point it is offered.

      I put it together a few days ago but today is the first chance I've had to turn it on and set it up. When I try to print anything, even the cat that came on the memory card, it randomly moved the print head and the bed for about 10 minutes, then starts the print, and within two seconds displays "Complete". It never extrudes filament.
      I was afraid there was something wrong when during the initial z offset setup it never touched the print bed, it sat at least 100mm above through the entire setup process. I'll go through the setup process one more time before boxing it back up and returning it.

    Mine is a piece of junk. It made three prints than crapped out. It won't level, and when trying to do a print, the print head remains stationary while the display print time is clocking down from an 8hr print job to finish in just under a minute. Creality customer service was no help. I purchased a Anycubic Kobra MAX the same time, and it has been performing flawlessly with no issues whatsoever. The Kobra Max is running in the other room right now while the Creality printer is sitting on my desk as a useless paperweight.

After Contacting Creality and following the video they provided to rebuild the extruder it still clicks. I am impressed with the bed leveling but the extruder is garbage. I just got my 3V3 today. I'm just getting to know it, and haven't printed anything with it yet.
    What are you using for your slicer? Do you have to use the Creality Print default slicer? Or can you use Prusa (My choice) or Orca (I'm looking into it). I will eventually want to get to get my V3 connected to OctoPi, and my normal workflow (to my 3V2) is to send my print wirelessly from my PC to Octopi via Prusaslicer. I'm a bit concerned about using my 3V2 settings on the 3V3, especially with the autolevel settings. Don't want to mess anything up.

      My biggest problem right now is the lack of third party support for this printer. I use Octoprint to manage my ender 3v2 and while it WORKS for my enter 3v3, the host action commands are disabled which means there's no two way communication between the printer and Octoprint.
      The ender 3v3 is a great printer crippled by bad software and no (current) ability to side step to a third party firmware option. Company endorsed community support is non existent.
      So I wait for someone way smarter than me to create a custom firmware configuration for the ender 3v3.

      Hmm. Mine is SUPER smooth on both the KE and SE which use the same system. I wonder if you have something loose like a bearing mount bolt. You should be able to tighten them under the flex bed. Otherwise, yeah time to grease those rods.

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  Před 10 měsíci

      No. This machine has a PTFE lined hotend and the open air chassis of the machine wouldn’t well with ASA. You’d need a heat break and an enclosure. But then the temps on the hotend are limited as well. This is a PLA machine

  • @mattkon1808

    I think that I'm going to wait for the KE version. Just for the better OS, for the ceramic extruder and the PEI sheet. They decided to create a creality os based on klipper so maybe it's a good option for few bucks more. I never had a 3d printer and I ended up choosing between ender v3 series and neptune 4. This inspires me more than neptune 4. I still don't know which one is better (anybody has a suggestion maybe?)

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  Před 10 měsíci

      I have no experience with the Neptune machines, but both the SE and KE are great for first machines. Both of them are very easy to use, which is a huge plus. The SE is super affordable and the KE is very capable.

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  Před 10 měsíci

      I didnt miss it. I went over it. I just dont think it matters for this target market. The people that want that are going to want the KE and the people that dont care are going to stick with PLA and TPU which is what this machine is meant for. ;)

      @@3DPrintSOS I don"t like toxins when ex. trying to print PETG, which this printer is surely going to be used for. Especially since there is no reason whatsoever to keep on playing with people's health like that. A full-metal (doesn't have to be bi-metal) heatbreak would not cost more and would remove the risk and max. temperature limitation this PTFE liner causes.

    • @3DPrintSOS
      @3DPrintSOS  Před 10 měsíci

      I agree with you. However, I get why they do it. If 99% of people with this machine are going to print with PLA, the PTFE lined heartbreak would technically be better. No many people are going to buy this for PETG because they would already know, as you do, that there are better options out there for printing hotter.
