I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video, I will tell you what happened on the seven-hundred-fifty-ninth day of the war.
    Day 759: Mar 23
Today, there is a lot of big news.
After conducting the initial incredibly successful massive drone strike on the Russian oil refineries one week ago, Ukrainians discovered that the Russian air defense performed quite poorly, and continued exploiting the holes in the sky by hitting even more refineries. The success of the strikes was noted even by the Russian media, which started estimating the drop in the level of production to be double digits. Some Western media sources even claimed that the US asked Ukraine not to proceed with the strikes for fear of the surge in global oil prices. These strikes, in combination with persisting incursions into the Kursk and Belgorod regions, especially during the elections, prompted a corresponding reaction from the Russian forces. That is why Russian forces launched the largest series of combined drone and missile strikes targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure since the start of the full-scale invasion.
However, it is important to note that the actual goal of this strike is the opposite of what it seems and threatens to collapse the whole eastern front line. At first glance, it seems like Russians are trying to achieve the political goal of showing the Russian public the power with which Russian forces retaliated to the so-called Ukrainian audacity. A superficial analysis may indicate that another, more important goal of the Russian forces is to collapse the Ukrainian power grid and create significant logistical problems and societal discontent. However, first of all, Ukrainian forces have adapted to constant shutdowns by engaging diesel locomotives and shifting their reliance to generators and Starlink during the previous Russian anti-energy infrastructure campaign. Secondly, it turned out that Ukrainian people are prone to blame Russians for the shutdowns instead of the Ukrainian military or government for their inability to provide full protection, as everyone is aware of air defense shortages. The real goal of Russian forces is to force Ukrainians to relocate their air defense away from the contact line.
As you know, one of the most decisive factors in the Battle for Avdiivka was the extensive use of air-dropped bombs. At times, Russians were dropping up to one hundred bombs per day, completely wiping out whole districts of Avdiivka. Ukrainians simply did not have enough air defense systems to protect all areas of the front line and the deep rear simultaneously, which is why Ukrainians created mobile air defense units that could suddenly appear in any region and intercept three to five aircraft at once. The approach worked well, and Russians started suffering tremendous losses in aviation - more than a dozen in ten days. Unfortunately, this was arranged too late to be able to save Avdiivka, and the Ukrainians had to withdraw. On the other hand, it was timely enough to prevent the collapse of the front line. Even though Russian forces continue dropping FAB-five-hundred air-dropped bombs every day, the rate at which they are bombing the region is not enough to undermine the Ukrainian defense and overwhelm Ukrainians in a particular sector. Russian commanders understand that without establishing air superiority, Russian forces are doomed to spend months on small incremental tactical gains. Given that Ukrainians finally launched a large-scale initiative to build thousands of kilometers of new defense lines along the entire border and front line, Ukrainians seem to be building defenses faster than Russians are breaching them. The Russian commanders fear that such a setting will lead to decades-long war, ensuring the exhaustion even of the Russian manpower and equipment pool. That is why Russian commanders are trying to implement the Soviet Deep Battle theory, which I described in detail in my exclusive strategic update on Patreon. In short, Russians are trying to breach defenses faster than Ukrainians are building them, and in current realities, it is impossible without establishing at least localized air superiority.
In order to achieve air superiority, at least near the contact line, Russians need to force Ukrainians to relocate their air defense away from the front line. One of the ways to achieve that is to launch constant missile and drone strikes on the Ukrainian critical energy infrastructure. Even though, as mentioned previously, Ukrainian forces and people can survive...

Ukraine should be supplied with an airforce-worth of fighter aircraft, such as the F-16s and longer-range precision munitions, such as ATACMS (more of them, and the longest-range variants should be provided), and the russian military facilities inside of russia should be considered legitimate targets. It is worth noting that support for military aid to Ukraine in America is over 80% and increasing. This is because Americans can see that not only is aiding Ukraine the ethical thing to do, it is the practical thing as well. America has spent only approximately 6% of our military budget so far to help Ukraine. However, over half of the russian army has been destroyed. This is a tremendous bargain by any measure! In addition to this, when russia is defeated in this war, their barbaric ideology of imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a more peaceful, stable place for many generations - as well as preventing a new arms race in the region. That is why billions spent today saves trillions tomorrow. The vast majority of Americans understand this. Americans also want to see Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. This is why Americans are correct to support giving military aid to Ukraine.
Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are a US citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war-winning quantities, and soon. The sooner we give Ukraine the weapons it needs to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be over, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website. One can also google for ones"' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one's desire known.

With Russians having used so many FABs on Avdiivka and elsewhere, my question is: how hard is it to produce such bombs/missiles? If they fire 100 a day, is this rapidly depleting their stockpiles, or is this within their production capabilities?

I think I realized something. Despite buzz about attacking NATO, Russia currently has no strength to do that. I think that source of rumor could be that Russians decided to unleash they deep reserves intended for confronting NATO. It is why we do see some improvement in missile strikes. If that is true, it would mean that Russia is reaching wall of they offensive capability.

At this rate those shells won't help Russia much, even to advance, let alone win the war. So at some point they will even out and be only able to use the ones North Korea produces annually. • @actinium2754

Not how it works. When you buy foreign weapons, you need that country's permission to send it to another country. It's why the European countries couldn't send F-16s without U.S. permission. By violating that contract, they may be denied future sales of weapons from the U.S. which could be everything from missiles to F-35s.This is not to say the U.S. would necessarily say "no" to such a deal, but it is also not a given since the deal could also be blocked by representatives if it is found that the deal is not in the interest of the United States and that power does not sit with the President.

    • @dinismantas7265
      @dinismantas7265 Před měsícem

@@actinium2754 nothing remotely close to what I said. The funds allocated to Ukraine, which is being considered, would be used by Ukraine to buy the weapons. I don't even think that move would require permission from Congress, unlike for example Germany. In any case, the weapons have already been sent to Ukraine in the past or are being sent in smaller quantities. That type of permission was already given. It's clear too that the older s300 has become completely useless, against missiles & drones. But alternatives like the Gepard tank are very useul too, they can shoot down variation of tings, including cruisemissiles, while their ammo is supercheap, and they are fully mobile. They would need a lot more of them too tho since the range isn't superlong. There is enough airdefense systems in the world, they should be sent to Ukraine, cuz there is where it actually matters!

Your analyses are always perfect, clear, precise, limpid and very well documented. Bravo for your work, which is of a very high standard!
However, just one small point: as far as Western aid is concerned, if the Americans are faced with a blockade by a single man who takes orders from an extremely dangerous bastard because of his incompetence, they do what they can on the side. As for the EU, its aid is constantly being increased, even if we can always do better.
However, you're absolutely right when you say that Ukraine (and this should serve as a lesson to all EU countries) must have its own means of arms production. Which they are doing very well when it comes to remotely-operated armaments, but with a little more difficulty when it comes to conventional armaments. Added to the lack of resources is the complexity of having to manage a dual NATO/former USSR arsenal, with different ammunition calibers, different design and implementation logics (NATO=less numerous but more technological USSR=basic but outnumbered), etc., all while being at war (while some countries are already struggling to upgrade their military equipment in peacetime).
Regarding the choice of defending its weapons factories or the front, in my opinion, Ukraine should focus on the front, because if the front collapses, defending the factories will be useless. The best thing is to have more means to do both.

Ukraine rejects claims of Western pressure over attacks on Russian oil facilities
Ukraine will continue attacking Russian oil refineries, Kyiv vows
By Ben Lefebvre and Gabriel Gavin 22 March 2024
"Ukraine has rejected claims that a series of strikes on Russian oil refineries risks alienating its Western allies, with senior officials in Kyiv insisting the country is well within its rights to target Moscow’s lucrative fossil fuels industry."
"Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the office of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said the government has not received calls from the United States asking Ukraine to halt attacks on Russian energy infrastructure."
The majority of US citizens and also the majority of citizens of the Free World support Ukraine.
