- Guitarist Jake E Lee replaced Randy Rhoads after his tragic death on March 19th 1982. Let's take a closer look at the two guitar shred legends technical skill and mastery of the instrument in a guitar shred off all out fretboard war! Great performances from both guitarists!
Live footage taken from Ozzy Osbourne Live After Hours TV show taping April 1981 and Ozzy Live at US Festival Live May 1983. (Jakes debut gig?) - Hudba
Randy has always been one of my favorites, I grew up on diary of a madmen, I think I like Jake’s tone better in this shoot out, Great Content
Cheers. Yes same here, love them both! 🤘
Listen to Randy's live tone, no one really sounded like either guy. Randy was the better writer and player
Jake is a much more complete guitar player than Randy ever was and better technique and those songs that Randy wrote that was 50% Bob daisley the same with Jake E and Bob @Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle
@dantana8570 you're obviously uneducated on this.. it's idiotic to say he's a more complete guitar player when Randy was more learned and infused jazz, classical into metal and changed the game. Show some awareness.
Jake would laugh at someone suggesting he had better technique than a guy who knew theory more than him and who was a guitar teacher.
Randy wrote two masterpieces that Bob Daisley has even suggested can't be touched.
It’s like asking who is your favourite child
which every parent can easily answer...if they are honest. Randy clearly the more gifted player, jake is awesome too
Jake!
Lets also remember who wrote all these guitar parts. (At least the parts that don't sound like mindless shred)
right no one is going to play it better than the guy who wrote it especially when he is an elite player and writer like Randy WAS
I would have shown them doing their own solos, Jake nor anyone is going to play Randy's stuff as well as he did
There might be a part 2 at some point but I wanted to show them as close in dates/time as possible. It was Jake e Lee’s debut and there is not much actual footage of Randy with Ozzy anyway. 🎸🤘
@@GuitarGodzUnleashed just the After hours, Palladium,, Rosemont, and Albuequerque...which has over the Mountain.
Jake actually toured to finished the Speak of the Devil tour...US festival not his debut, except it was easily the largest crowd he had ever played for
Jake is a better player, but I prefer Randy because he is a better writer.
Jake absolutely 😊
Jake what? he is clearly not Randy
Yeah he's much better @@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle
@dantana8570 I wouldn't say Randy is much better, he's just better even Jake would say that, as he said he saved Ozzys career and wrote stuff no one else could
While I love Randy, there are definitely things I prefer about Jake (consistently great vibrato, tone)...
There are things I like about both. As much as I love Randy, his vibrato seemed kind of like an afterthought, and I prefer Jake's tone on various pieces.
And if we're going to talk tone...Brad Gillis all day.
Why compare and stir the crap. This is so unnecessary and stupid to need to compare. Everyone has their own opinion. I saw both in 82 and 84. I love Randy. I tried to get jakes autograph back stage and he ignored all of us. Randy amazed me watching him, totally blew me away. Randy wrote this stuff at 21 and 22 years old. He never had the chance to go on. Jake was hired to copy the stuff and continue with Ozzy. You can replace the original with the style and tone that wrote it.
Jake is awesome, but he was not as learned as Randy and he even he would tell you that.
Randy was more melodic. And his live playing is second to none
Buddy Guy wins!
Randy"z guitar sound z❤❤❤ better
No Contest Randy Is Better
