wow, It's absolutely hilarious how many "fans" turned on Ngannou. The man came from nothing, became the UFC heavyweight champ and just won the biggest fight of his life, against an undefeated fighter, while injured. Those saying he was just laying and praying have never been in a grappling match, let alone a fight while injured. Knee injury's put athletes out for years, he just beat his hardest competition with that injury. People are confused that he turned down the money, when he clearly said it wasn't just about the money. He doesn't feel respected and he wants job benefits. How does a fighting organization not have health insurance?? Why did the UFC pull a power play by making Gane interim champ? When McGregor doesn't want to fight until the money is right (despite not having a win streak since 2016) he is a boss. But when Francis doesn’t want to fight until his contract and treatment are right, he is a baby? I'm 100% team Francis. Respect over money.

Ngonnou's strength surprised Gane. In my opinion, Gane sort of panicked when he realized that Ngonnou was stronger on the ground. I think he abandoned his game plan in the third round.

The gane fight was the last on Frances last contract deal. He was already locked into that old deal . Now after the gane fight he’s a free agent and the ufc made offer to resign him.

Very humble guy. Refreshing to see. Most fighters aren’t exactly humble, but it’s necessary for some to get in the cage. A man that can be humble and be a great fighter is always extremely respectable to me. This is probably going to be good for him in the long run. He definitely needs to focus on his wrestling. It's funny that so many people bought into the idea that Mcgregor could beat the best defensive boxer, ever. But Francis fighting, under mixed conditions possibly, has no chance against Fury who was caught in each Wilder fight. I'm not stupid, ofc Fury can outbox him but if we were stupid enough to buy into mcgregor, then why not Ngannou? The guy with a greater chance of hitting his opponent than mcgregor did.
There's a way to make this work, if it's a special exhibition type of deal, mixed conditions of some sort (mma gloves, 8 3 min rounds, fight in a triangle lol). Don't sell it as a contest to prove which sport is superior, sell it as: can the mma guy beat the boxer in special conditions?

Same here. I had it 2-2 entering the 5th round. I gave the fight to Moreno 3-2. However, I can also see why others gave Figuiredo the fight, he did drop Brandon a few times and had a couple takedowns. But there's NO WAY Figuiredo won 4 rounds.

There's also no way Ngannou is beating Fury in a boxing match, so that well will be dry after he loses. The $600k Francis gets also doesn't include PPV points, which is a direct reflection of popularity and the ability to sell events.

Because if half or so are at Bellator, then Bellator would be considered toptier league as the ufc. It would take many fighters to stand up to the UFC to do so. But Dana makes examples out of those who do like mark hunt losing at the end of all these legal dibacles.
Fighters and fights arent even their product anymore. They sell Cable TV views and advertising. Paying these fighters more would be like paying your accounting team 600k a year because they work hard..... bad business.

That contract they offered Francis is a joke, he's "the baddest man on the planet" he's at the pinnacle of the sport, there isn't a heavyweight in any MMA organization that comes close to him, any other athlete in any other sport at his level is making 8 figures a year at the very least. He brings eyes from all over the world to the sport, he's a marketing team's dream, he's loved in France and all of Africa. Pay the man what he deserves
