I think I figured out the twist. Her mother did not want her marrying him so she snuck into his room and left the "evidence" in there knowing that the daughter would find it and think he was cheating.

Except John had nothing to do with the affair. Karen paid some guy to pose as him having an affair with another woman just to make Stacey leave him. Her plan almost worked except, John foiled the whole thing by revealing everything she done to the guests. The man Karen paid, revealed himself as his brother, Aaron, and called her out for her selfishness. Stacey learned the truth from everyone and fed up with her behavior, she cuts her mom's credit cards up with a knife. She tells her mom off that she's a horrible human being for what she's done, cuts ties with her and mentions she will no longer be in their lives anymore. When Karen tries to defend herself, Stacey tells her off that her dad was right and she is too toxic. She and John leave her where she is.

Here's my follow up story.
After being cut off by Stacey, Karen refused to believe she was wrong. That is until she returns home after the wedding. John and Aaron had posted the video of Karen's terrible behavior towards Stacey on every social media platform they know. Pretty soon, she becomes a laughingstock to everyone around her, humiliated by her neighbors and reviled by her former friends. Karen never gained back her former life. She ended up being alone for the rest of her life and became remorseful too late. Every time Karen watches John and Stacey walk by with their children, she is reminded of her cruelty. She may have gotten what she wanted and kept her wealth, but she lost the most important thing in her life.
