I am quite disappointed by how this ad fails to show what exactly is postpartum depression. It's much more intense and painful and not just a mere inability to balance between work and home. Constant anxiety, worrying about baby, self-harm and harming-baby thoughts, detachment, fatigue are all signs of it.

@@vatsalab3478 postpartum depression is also called Baby Blues. So don't make your own meanings. Both men and women suffer from it, as both have their own hormones, that work differently. PPD is not about worthlessness. It is the sudden stress your body and mind faces, that you are not prepared to cope up with. Depression is linked to stress hormone called Cortisol. This hormone gets less if you get abundant sleep. Also, it adds up to your work pressure as well. That why, women during earler days were healthy. They never faced work related stress. Their only duty was to raise their family, and they lived happily with their husband. Today, women work in night shifts, takes up excess work loads, doesn't maintain healthy lifestyle, etc. Excess work load leads to stress. Stress increases aggression and anger. And these two increases the male hormone in a woman, called testosterone. When this hormone increases in a woman's body, it goes against nature, snd suffers in different ways, as a woman's body cannot handle that hormone in excess.
And for men, aggression and anger, leads to increase in testosterone, which is what their body is naturally built for. It can handle it. But the problem is, testosterone increases sex drive in men. So, he expects for the women's attention on him. But, her attention after delivery, would be over the baby alone. Just imagine a dam that is about to break due to the load above its capacity. Men go through that stage. And the next is, loneliness. Women bond with their babies differently than men, because women are the source of nutrition. So here, the men feel left alone without any role to play. There are many factors like this which vollectively causes PPD in men too.
PPD in both genders can be handled by their partner alone. Medications lead to side effects. The correct method is, women should let her man play a role with the child, while also giving attention to his needs. And men, on the other side, can take care of feeding the baby - so that his woman gets a good sleep. Yes, men can feed too. Let me explain. Men expect women to show their vulnerability to men. This gives men, a chance to protect her from anything, and let him do anything for her. I am talking about femininity in a woman. If she talks about how afraid she is of the stress, to her man, he loves to take care of everything. Like, if the baby is awake in the midnight for milk, he can either use the pumped milk, or use his wife to feed the baby, while the wife sleeps over him. It goes on like this. PPD is mostly because, you don't open up with your partners mentally.

    *Some facts:*
It can happen to new mothers who are otherwise well-comfortable in their homes and with a lot of support staff when it comes to raising the baby. It can happen if the mother is with the baby 24*7 as well. It can happen even if you have a loving husband and a caring family as well. It just can happen to any new mom, any time after birth and after a long time since the birth. It can drive new moms to not want their child anymore, it can bring a sense of "defeat" for new moms when they meet their child. It has nothing to do with feminism, like I said, it can happen to any mother on earth. Just like depression is hard to cure, PPD also just doesn't go away by keeping the mom and the child together. It's the reality.
It's good to know in details about what it is even if it may shock you that a mother who loves her child so much can end up feeling a sense of misery because of the pregnancy and the child.
I repeat, *it has nothing to do with feminism* .

In reality, be it a dad or mom, if your performance is less and if you are no longer needed, you will be fired. Everything is business here.

@@TheRagul90 when something happens to a child who gets the first blame is it mom or dad? Postpartum depression gets worst for women since it affects the hormones. After give a birth to a child the whole body and mind of the mother change. Body becomes weaker and mind starts playing up cos of the hormonal changes. So to answer to your question dads don’t go through half of what moms go through. So it’s more difficult for working moms.

@@Summerinvincible1942 when the child gets spoilt or anything happens, both the parents are to be blamed. You did not have your child alone. And there are many children who grew up without both of them. And, this depression has nothing to do with hormonal differences. It is due to becoming a newer person with excessive additional responsibilities. Gothrough how this depression works before talking here. You cannot understand what goes in the mind of a man after the child birth. It is the woman's body changes, that lasts for a couple of months, which mentally disturbs the man. I am talking about dryness, as women could not understand this. This is where men's mind oscillates. He has to control his body from its needs, and imagine how his hormones will work when near a woman. Some men go out of their boundary and some stay inside. In that, some goes through depression, as he takes care of the baby too while the woman is away or taking rest. Remember, both genders have their own problem. It is just that women entered workforce recently, and theirs is much focused about.

@@TheRagul90 wow you are a typical Asian man brought up in a conventional Asian background where men are treated like Gods.
Firstly, I know what PPD is and I know how scary it is as I have gone through it. You need to read on pregnancy and motherhood as you clearly not a person who has empathy. PPD get worst with hormonal changes.
Secondly, mothers are blamed more than fathers for children’s misbehaviour.
Thirdly, men can release their urgencies on their own without being adulterous or getting depressed which I think you know how it’s done.
Lastly, women always worked. Do you think being a good housewife is easy? Housewives work from the moment they get up until they sleep and don’t get paid or appreciated. Now only women are given attention they deserved which was due for a very long time.
And I forgot to tell you about breastfeeding. Do you know how excruciatingly painful when a baby bites a sore nipple he sucks in every half an hour and how painful the breasts become when a mother can’t feed the newborn baby because she has to go to work earn because the husband and in laws can’t understand her situation and condition.
So don’t tell mothers and fathers go through the same thing.

@@Summerinvincible1942 Neither Men nor women are gods. Stop this exaggeration. You and I exist only because a man and a woman came together. So, I don't need your explanation here.
Firstly, If you know what PTD is, you wouldn't be bluffing here. Pregnancy has nothing to do with PTD. It is after that, that causes PTD. Motherhhood has its own difficulties like fatherhood has. Each has their own responsibility in raising the child. It is you who is putting a godly image on women, which they are not. Each has their purpose and are serving it.
Secondly, you are not living in ancient days, when mothers were the only ones who stayed at home and took care. There are many children who are even raised without a mother. So, again, don't exaggerate. In today's world, both are equally blamed. Seems like you follow the same old tradition, where women are always homemakers.
Lastly, women always worked, but at home. Homemaking is a job which is equally difficult as the man's job. I never denied it. Housewives spread their work across the day, but men need to do intense work within a certain period of time. In today's world, homes where both work, they generally have a maid. And expecting a salary to raise a family is a cheap thought. You need financial support to raise a family. And someone needs to take care of the house and their child. Responsibilities are shared here and this is how families work. If you want to get paid for doing household chores, better don't get married and do the chores in other's house to get paid.

It is in this era, grandparents or babysitters are brought in, as women entered workforce. If you don't feel satisfied with your husband's care on the child, you can decide to become a homemaker. Or, better stay unmarried if you are focused on career. People who do not understand that, career is something that is only for financial support to a family, can stay single and keep earning. If you are married, things are to be shared. Since when career has become a status? Money is making these career oriented people behave mad.

@Sugar_muffin Equal paying jobs? A business is running for its own profit and is not a charity. A company normally pays you what you are worth for, regardless of gender, age or any criteria. A woman can not become equal to a man and vice versa, due to biological reasons. So, generally, the productivity of a man is higher than that of a woman. And if, the woman can perform well and give good business for the company, she gets the same pay as the other person who performs equally. This happens regardless of gender. Have you ever heard performance based appraisal? If you are of some benefit to the company, the company will give its compensation. Even if two men work in a company, and one's performance is less, the other will get higher pay, as he is seen as a benefit. Apply some common sense, instead of talking unnecessary things in the name of equality. Even if you are a man, and suffer from any medical condition, the company will not give you free salary.

    • @TheRagul90
      @TheRagul90 Před 3 lety +8

@Sugar_muffin kid. First try to understand what I am saying. Let me explain with an example. Consider two daily wage MALE workers who earn by lifting and delivering the loaded sack. If one male can deliver 20 sacks and the other can deliver only 10, and in your foolish ideology of equality, both should have been paid the same salary. But, companies are not running charity to give the same salary to the one who lifts 10 sacks, instead can hire another person to compensate the remaining 10 sacks. It is not about the gender here. It is how well you perform and are of beneficial to the employer. You cannot claim equal salary since you also lift loaded sacks. It is your efficiency in the job. It will come in the way of your judgement. Like probably you will end up hating the whole woman clan. Don't. Ads like these highlight the pain we have to endure. Analyse it for what it is and not from ur predefined judgements. Here's to positive thinking!

I know its hard to believe providing all that biased media and corrupt education system and govt, Ads like these only hype one side of the story, but never actually care about pain of men, you know the reason behind it? because they make money at-least majority of it because women spend more on products, Men don't spend as much as women on their products so obviously their target is female population, they keep on creating these ads not because they are concerned about women, they just want to get more attention and get more customers and they know the trick. Simple marketing strategy.

It is the woman who decides to continue her career after labor. If women are not comfortable leaving their baby, for work, they can become a homemaker. Career is something that should be used to financially support a family, and not to be seen as a status. It is this feminism that is causing this depression, by making Career as a status, and women need to have a career to stand equal to men. But, they cannot. Both are two different beings and work differently. To raise a family, one needs to financially support and the other needs to care the home. Please try to understand her. Post ten thousand more ads and continue with the "support" you are getting. Best wishes. May be even you were not a real feminist and betrayed a llot of women struggling for women's rights, etc.when you had a chance. Its useless to even talk abot men.IF they cared world would ae been much different.Hence you are bearing this.
BUt whatever, I wish you get some support.Keep working hard. WOrld will "understand" your problems.
