- This is Nepal's Smallest City! (and the OLDEST)
The city of Bhaktapur is located just 13 kilometres from Nepal's capital, Kathmandu. At just 6 square kilometres in area, it is Nepal's smallest city and also its oldest having been founded in the 12th century.
Today, it is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the country famous also for Nepal's tallest temple. Due to its well preserved medieval nature, UNESCO inscribed Bhaktapur as a World Heritage Site since 1979.

This City is very Old. In the inscription of Great Licchavi King Mandeva I (reign. c. 464 - c. 505 CE) this city is mentioned as "Khopring-grama-pradesha / खोपृङ्गग्रामपप्रदेश"
The City took present shape in 11th century in reign of King Anandadeva. He established 8 Mother Goddess around the City.
The main City is between 2 Rivers Kasan river & Hanumati river (Main Holy River).
In present this City is called as Khwopa in Nepalbhasa. Bhaktapatan / Bhaktapatapur / Bhaktapur etc are also mentioned in various inscription.
At present this is Bhaktapur Municipality.
Your vlogs are beautiful. At 17:15 we like Yaz’s white or grey top. We think it’s perfect fit summer. Let us know the name and where we can purchase that top. Also we like seeing you with these sorts of top on your vlogs with long midi skirts. Keep up and thanks….

Bhaktapur is most famous for its juju dhau ( king curd). You guys should try it.
We’re vegan so we can’t, but we heard many good things 😊

miss momo sooo much... my mouth filled with water when you ate that last final momo..... Nepalese best food.... I think it should be Nepal's National food.
It's been like 1/2 week that I have been watching your vlog and finally today I'm happy to subscribe hahaha
i am your big fan brother and sis love u from nepal🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
u should visit the CHANGUNARAYAN TEMPLE, the oldest one..
I knew you would love Bhaktapur. 🙂 Yes you will definitely have to return to Nepal - It will be so different on your second visit - you will feel like you are returning home 🙂.
Hahaha, good job on the pottery Yaz! another great video guys.
Hollywood movie Little Buddha was filmed in Bhaktapur. First movie of Keaneu Reebs mate. 🤗🤗🤗
You guys should come and visit ason as well
Love you guys ♥️♥️
Hey hope you stay for indra jatra festival...
You must have to visit changunaryan temple also there in Bhaktapur
Nice couple god blessed u guys 🥰🙌🏻
The clay mug is perfect, durable for decades. I think somewhere in Nepal would make a great place for retirement living; unexpectedly, Thailand might be overcrowded and getting costly.
Please go to West of Nepal. It's still untuched and cheap.
Visiting Bhaktapur without trying Newari cuisines? That's not possible.
I recommend trying it. You will love it.
Hope you enjoy our Newari cuisine.
You might want to watch our previous video. Also, we clearly ate chatamari in this one 😂
@@adamandyaz yeah.. maybe he doesn't know you guys are vegetarians so you had to avoid most of the Newa food items
20:31 this song make me fall for it every time I hear it, soo good ^√^
From bhaktapur , Nepal 🇳🇵

beautiful couple 😍 welcome to nepal
Always waiting your new videos👍👌
Thanks to a combination of the joyful, jovial couple and that Brit's humor, your video stands out above others in the vlogosphere.
Your vids are fantastic and i absolutely adore them.
To be very honest, being a vegetarian in Kathmandu is a bit downer.
The Kathmandu valley is reputed to have the best non veg momo in the entire globe.
Anyway, I'm delighted I found you two.
regards
new subscriber.
Have fun, and cheers!
ur videos r always entertaining....thanks for that...
You should taste curd from Bhaktapur known as Juju Dhau literally meaning King Curd.
I typically don’t watch vlogs on youtube, but you guys get me hooked. Very nice content adam and yaz, keep it coming.
Will definitely love to talk to you if i see you on the streets of kathmandu

Yaz is looking gorgeous 🙂
0:13 These are the kids of my school
That definitely isn't the smallest city of Nepal but it certainly is one of the oldest and is in the smallest district of Nepal, the name of which coincidently is also Bhaktapur.
You guys miss the bhaktapur special juju dhau(yogurt) 🥺when you arrive the bhaktapur you have to eat juju dhau(yogurt)
I think they r vegan ..
They are vegan
They have mentioned many times ♥️
Beautiful vlog, a beautiful couple in a stunning place
You guys need to have some breakfast at Himalayan Java Coffee at Durbar Marga
I love you guys and the vlog. I am trying to go nepal probably around January which is in 4 months. What are the places you guys recommend to stay? Looking stay in rental apartments or hotal cheap and affordable?
OYO is also available.
January it will be cold (especially if you are going trekking) but even in Kathmandu it can be 2 or 3 degrees Celsius at night in January. - but clear/cool sunny days. February will be warmer. March will be perfect. April May, gets a lot warmer, then June July August is peak monsoon season - very warm and humid and wet. Travelling can be difficult, but not impossible at this time. Suggest you find a cheaper budget hotel or guest house at first in Kathmandu - anywhere except around Thamel area which is touristy and often expensive. Sundhara area is a good place to start and very close to Durbar square. Then ask around and you will find something to suit your budget. You will find from luxury to basic backpacker hostel. If you want to visit the Durbar squares of Kathmandu, Patan or Bhaktapur, you will pay an entry fee - about $6 -$7. When you buy your ticket, take your passport and ask them to also stamp your passport, then you can take your ticket and passport and visit at another time and pay no entry fee.
Thank you for visiting Nepal 🇳🇵❤️❤️ please visit historical place Gorkha once 🙏🙏
There are 3 Durban squares in Kathmandu valley in the 3 cities/Municipalities - Kathmandu/Bhaktapur/Patan. Out of which, Bhaktapur Durbar square seems more enjoyable!!
Another interesting fact about Nepal is that, the Newar’s speak their own language which is called Newari. The older generations of Newar people understand very little or no Nepali. The newer generations do but the more you go into close knit newar communities - the lesser they understand Nepali !!
In English Durbar. Nepalima दरबार Durban is a city in South Africa 😊🙏 Jai Nepal
@@NewZman23 wow !! You must have a lot of free time to comment on a typo !! 😆
@@shree2386 I am English teacher and I have loads of free time now I am recovering from a heart attack 😆. Don't worry I have heard a few tourists call it Durban Square.🙏
@@NewZman23 Sorry about that. I didn’t know tourists call Durban square- now I know .. thanks 🙏 Hope you are recovering well !!
Even Knowing Chess is not big game in Nepal we Nepalese still stand and watch around our streets coz we hav lot of time😁
That pottery guy is very good. Must be praised him a lot. You guys are luckey to travel Nepal once in a life time. Love from Nepal. 🙏
Beautiful video 😍☺️
I have always wondered what is the name of the end credit song you guys play. 😅 I love it 😁
Hi! It’s called ‘Never or Right Now’ by ELFL. Glad you like it 😃

♥️Finally next drop visit chobar ktm
dont miss the festival in september 9 in kathmandu durbar square
just subscribed to ur channel guys...
It may sounds weird and I am not Judging you guys but many people usually wear full sleeve clothes or pants while visiting the Temple. It’s the respect to other’s religion and culture. You guys are amazing and I have been watching your all episodes.
I don't think anyone cares about the dress while going to temple in today's time
250 for that hand band is alot for middle class Nepalese people. But maybe that band is of good quality? I guess?
Plz make it your video a bit longer..
4:25
I hope to one day see you recreate the opening scene of the film, Ghost. 😆
First one is Dwarpal: Guard
Bhaktapur is smallest district according to area in Nepal ...not the city
Yeah.. in fact the heritage zone of Bhaktapur/Khwopa is larger than Kathmandu/Kantipur/Ye and Patan/Yala..
It was the largest Newa kingdom before unification as even towns like Banepa, Dhulikhel, Panauti, Sankhu were under rule of Bhaktapur's king
Adam, just quick question!! Do you know about the Gurkhas soldiers!!
Please visit Nagarkot.
We loved the place when we visited many years ago.
It's 1 bus ride away from Baktapur.
Do not miss Changunarayan! The oldest recorded standing temple in Nepal. It's in Bhaktapur itself.
Wooaahhh 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭💖💖💖
One of the cutest couple I have ever seen 😊
Yaz very beautiful
OK good bro
😀😃😄
I love you girl😍
Imho I think it is worth it to buy a few things and package them all up and mail them home by sea. I sent a couple packages to Canada from India and I was a low budget backpacker.Check the rates you may find the price reasonable. My kids play with my singing bowls now! Happy Travels
😍😍😍😍😍
You guys should check it out Bangladesh...one of the food heaven countries I've ever seen, cheers from California!
15:00 the old lady was perhaps having no clue what you guys were saying...old generation people might not be as used to English as the current generation is.
❤❤❤♥♥
Nice Nepal🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
Hope you had the taxi service going up those stairs 😂😂😂
Just kidding . Really love your videos
The lower two statue in Nyatapola temple are of Patta Singh and Jaimal Rathore. It is said they were 10 times stronger than the general population. Both of them were from Rajasthan and fought to protect Chitorgadh and Hindus ( not promoting hatred among religion but the fact is religion used to be of the main driving force for war in ancient and medievel times) in Rajasthan against Akbar's Mughal army. Though they lost the battle, their bavery was well known and respected among the hindu kingdoms of south Asia. As a homage to them, their statues were kept at the base of the temple.
Yaz looks like Blake Lively to me ❤
That ama was simping yaz 🤣
