In this video, we attempt to break the Sur-ron top speed world record of 102 mph currently held by Jack Cecil. there are a ton of factors to consider when attempting something like this. Such as: all the components on the bike, finding the right location, getting the right protective gear, and tracking all the information on various apps, GPS computers, and draggy GPS. watch this video to find out if we broke the record!

With my stock tiny cables + EBMX 72v 57ah (non race bater) + X9000 + Torp Motor + my weight is 95kg I can acheave 130kmh max for few seconds only and from there stock cables starts to overheat.

I have seen a 14 tooth front sprocket for the talaria, also if you can run an extended swing arm, maybe you can mod a 21" front onto the rear to help with the gear ratio issues w/ the talaria.

that's what I'm saying I have a talaria sting r with 72v chi battery, Ko rush controller and ko factory spec motor I've hit 73.4mph and was running only 9.7kw, max is 35kw and 1200phase amps
Now that is professional
Go to higher voltage battery, all your problems will be solved. If your motor/controller cant handle the voltage, dumping amps into the setup to sustain your output is not the solution. Voltage > Current capacity in all situations involving performance. 72v is entirely too low to sustain 80+mph speeds. Jump up to 134v and youll find you can run better gearing, less heat managment, and all your components can be smaller, furthr increasing top speed.

I believe your ANT BMS is cutting out on that 72V EBMX race battery. Sure, would be nice if you could get at least 500-amps into that X9000 controller for a continuous thousand phase amps into that 35kW motor. That 85.4mph top speed is impressive for a Talaria and I'd be curious to know the motor RPM on that Sotion motor. You may want to change the front sprocket on Reed's bike to a 14T or 15T if your motor rpm is maxed out. Keep up the great work!

Sweet happy to hear. The only reason we haven’t tried yet is because I think for it to be competitive we need to set a distance. We will get some draggy runs in this weekend. Our fastest 1/8th mile right now is 84 mph so 1/4 “should” be doable I think lol
Y'all got this. I'm loving your store! I know this is a long shot, but do you know if the Heavy Hitter Titanium Direct Mount Riser will fit with the eride pro ss display? I know I saw the warp 9 riser does not fit with the screen at the moment, but was wondering if the Heavy Hitter Titanium Direct Mount Riser does.
Shoot, I don’t think it will. That stem is very wide. I suppose you could off set the screen to either side so the brackets alternate. Or you could cut one bracket off and use it that way 🤷
The Heavy Hitter Direct mount does not work with the OEM E Ride display. What "most" people are doing is just cutting off one side of the OEM display mount, making it a single sided mount. This will work, but wont be as rigid as OEM. We are also working on an adjustable display mount which is currently in production right now.

Why u aint trying whit 22s battery molicel p45b and get 92-93v battery instead 72v 84v it will make huge improve on top end speed (before nobody was running 22s causr old controller didnt allow it now we should run higher voltage whit sotion torp and ebmx motor
For your next build you should do a eleek/vector frame with a lightning rods big block XXL and like a 96v or something

to reduce drag, you could try setting the handle bars upside down so the grips are low and you can reduce your body profile. with the bars upside down it's like riding with sport bike clip ons. might be a little sketchy stability wise going 100mph tho, just make sure you don't put too much body weight on the front end.
Ya we would rather feel comfortable at the spot and not have any risk of wobbles.
could maybe get more by switching tarmac, full slicks, smaller bars, road looks rough, nice job
Guys with KO controllers and fspec motors have been hitting +90mph on both talaria and surron for over a year…almost 2 years for me on my surron.
You want to hit +100mph easily you have to up the volts..22s will help but not much, 30s with 3shul vesc controller would be much easier.
I just wanna try one atleast once, no one in my area has them and I sure as hell can’t afford one rn, stuck with my 20mph schwinn coston
My boss created a groundhog for himself and accelerated 292 km/h (181.48 mph) on it in this configuration he had 32 kilowatts (now he can already build 40 kilowatts)
You can use lighter rims and lower I think will help

Was your motor limited to 10,000 rpm?
I noticed that Jack Cecil dyno sheet was 12,800 rpm or so at 100+ mph. I’m sure his field weakening was higher. That could make a +6 mph difference at the top end.
Technically it can peak at 13000 rpm. We need more power to reach that

@@Talariaboys ... I steer by using the fork. Body bent over. Holding just above the dirt covers on fork. You push/pull left hand/ right hand to steer.

Actually the truque is still there. You can wheelie really easy. 0-60 times are sub 6 seconds

This is scary af b/c they’re flying at a quarter of the weight that a real bike is so the stability must be crazy !
It actually felt very stable at speed. It has an extended swing arm and nice wheels, tires and suspension. Its not the ideal speed for it but a lot more stable than most people would think.
Wouldn’t it be easier to use a Nucular controller ? as you can tune the field weakening your self ?
We can tune it ourselves on these controllers as well we have it turned all the way up, but often times it can go higher with custom settings from the manufacturer.

I can’t say what one is better🤷 we just decided to go with ebmx because we trust their batteries more and never hear about issues with them.

We are having issue where people just aren’t plugging them in hard enough or all the way. It has to go all the way in under the seem to work.

I'm curious what the 0-60 times were in these top speed runs just to know what the compromise is.
0-60 times were around 5-6 seconds with the same setup. With a bigger sprocket we could be quicker
if you just get the ultrabee or stormbee the challange is a whole lot easier :) OR you should include light bee in the title.
Those bikes wouldn’t go faster than this without thousands and thousands of mods as well and even then they may not.

@@Talariaboys 72 mph so far at 120A with a FarDriver 72450 controller. But it can push 200A. So we’ll see how fast it can go with just a battery upgrade

My Sur Ron with 21kw does 8,12 sec 117km/h on a 1/8mile event. Topspeed is between 125km/h and 130km/h.

Why 17 inch instead of 19 inch?
It's the same reason they chose a 40 tooth sprocket over a higher tooth count sprocket.
Mostly because of nice street wheels with dot rated street tires.

@@Talariaboys Single piece race suit like they use at Isle of Man TT. New handlebars that are narrower and lower, sticking down instead of out (look up board track racing and Burt Munro). Mount pegs as far back as possible, and higher. Use a smaller rider 😅
After that it would be body panels, starting with the tires and working inwards to the rider. That part would be much more challenging and would require engineering.

No smaller sprockets adds to top speed, we were over 10,000 rpm even with that gearing

Altitude shouldn’t be a factor with electric components. It would matter more if they were gas engines

Going any faster than 40mph on these things it’s plain dumb.
This bike doesn't have a single stock component on it. On a stock bike yes its not made to go faster than 45 but with all the upgrades it feels totally comfortable being ridden fast.
Have someone lighter and you’ll get more speed
