- Seen here are two of the most exciting bands that emerged in New York in the late 70's and who went on to become the ultimate Punk groups known worldwide. Taped very early on by Paul Tschinkel, these bands, among others, appeared on Paul Tschinkel's Inner-Tube, a weekly TV show on Manhattan Cable.
For information on how to help preserve these and other timeless tapes contact Paul Tschinkel. Enjoy
My friends brother was the
Dead Boy's drummer .
Congratulations
god bless you " HILLY KRISTAL"
Boy you ain't lying
And the dog
This is priceless would love to have seen the whole show
Thank you so much for posting this. God this is precious concert video. I love this.
It's shows like this, in small clubs, that has my ears ringing still all these years later...
Saw Dead Boys at CBGB’s for a reunion. I can’t remember the year… maybe 1989? My ears rang for 2 days!
Thank you so much for this. I am actually writing an English assignment for a class i am doing on the impact of bands that inspired bands like the Ramones and The Dead boys. Bands like The New York Dolls, Iggy and the Stooges and the MC5. And earlier bands such as ? and the Mysterians and The Sonics. This is amazing.
Nice to see Cheetah Chrome backing Phil Spector on vocals!
LOVE all if this ‼️😎🎸😍
I'm so grateful for this footage
me too
☠️💣☠️
Great stuff !!! All your footage need a proper dvd/blu ray release !!!
Please
Love your stuff Paul!
Dead boys - punk rock.
Ramones - boys... dead boys of punk rock.
What a bunch of nice, clean cut youths in attendance for the Ramones. Very wholesome. Then there’s the Dead Boys, who if I remember correctly were officially broken up at this point, but doing the occasional one-off ‘reunion’ gig, of which I’m assuming this footage was taken from. Stiv’s already in his little power pop uniform, so this must’ve been shortly before he moved to L.A. and put the Disconnected band together. I think Zero went with him but didn’t stay very long.
Leo, there is more I believe. Need to look for it.
Hey, here is what I pieced together from the April 10, 1979 show, czcams.com/video/TG68dJtOvR8/video.html. Do you have more from this show?
Paul, thanks for making it possible for people like me to watch all these documents of history. All of your work is great. I'm from England UK but America feels like I've lived there before. It's a strange feeling.
Hello. Was curious if you found out how much of the Ramones set you had taped?
Une pépite, rare et précieuse, kenavo
God they were on such a higher level
Two of the best looking front men in four minutes twenty nine seconds.
Amazing!!!!
Man, I wondered where the Ramones tape came from. Does the full show exist? I have I wanna be sedated from the show and maybe Blitzkrieg Bop. Having the full show would be great to have. Thanks
RIP EVERYONE!
Played on a double bill with Stivs old band Mother Goose. Way back in the Stone Age. Weird scene baby.
Are they from Ohio or something? Lol they got me fooled they act so east coast
@@leahflower9924 Steve came from Girard,Ohio
The Youngstown area was a real hot bed of musical talent from the early 60s through the 70s. Cleveland was close and so was Pittsburgh so the pool of musicians was emence and diverse. NYC is only 3-1/2 hrs away so it was only natural that he would gravitate in that direction. When I played with him he was still only considered some what of a over amped lead singer. Got himself in a few scuffles when he played because of his anti conventional rocker ie The Stooges. Really was not that off the hook cartoon in real life. Just a regular human in need of acceptance.
@@rikstrange662I met him once, in the early 80’s on the Lords Of The New Church’s very first tour, right after their gig at the Island in Houston. He was both one of the nicest, as well as one of the funniest people I ever met. I was just a scrawny little 15 year old at the time. Most older punks wouldn’t give me the time of day back then, but Stiv treated me as an equal and was a real gent. Just a solid guy. I was gutted when I got the awful news back in ‘90, and it still makes me sad to this day. He is very much missed. It was great to read your recollections of growing up with him in Ohio.
@@Shikta-poobah67 He truly was two different people. One on stage and the other in real time. 🖖🚀
Awesome Paul! Great camera work and the sound is good too! lol Brooke
Wow!
Very cool!
I think Shrapnel were at that show too.
Hi Paul, you have that Ramones show, complete? Thanks
These guys helped make music dangerous.
" HEAVEN "
Mr Tschinkel would you conxsider makings this classic footage available for download? I would gladly pay a reasonable fee!
Played there in 95. Interesting how the men want to look like Patti Smith.
Or, since Patti Smith worked hard to model her early look on Keith Richards, perhaps it was Keith they were aping?
The Ramones were the punk princes and the Dead Boys are the drugged up no holds barred lords of punk rock!
The Ramones were very hardcore. More loud more powerful and faster than the Dead Boys. The Dead Boys sounded like a rock n roll band.
More powerful 😂😂😂😂😂
Dead Boys didn't do SLOW forgettable non POWERFUL UNPUNKY love ballads like RAMONES👍👍
🥱
The best years,,,,,,, 🎼🎸💉☄️😵

Caught in your mouth👍
caught with the meat in your mouth
Caught With The Meat In Your Mouth
Are you sure it’s not 1978? Didn’t think they still played loudmouth in 79
Also the Dead Boys were pretty much kaput in ‘79, except for the occasional one off ‘reunion’ gig so Cheetah could afford to get his next fix… which this actually looks like it could be, based on Stiv’s then-current power pop attire, which I’m pretty sure he didn’t start doing until ‘79. Who knows.
Fans of the Dead Boys (and the Stooges, Germs, Plasmatics) should check for footage of Australia's AMYL & THE SNIFFERS...!
Was that Stiv Baters ???
