One of the most "WTF" moment in Yu-Gi-Oh. They both have the cards to basically become a Living Action Figure and beat each other to a bloody pulp... In a Children's Card Game.
I mean... Zexal's plot is that the universe was created from a single trading card and alien kings from space (basically evil power rangers) are try to get that trading card to rewrite reality while our protagonist and his space ghost friend are trying to stop that. Not to mention GX has our protagonist become a genocidal dictator at one point and then later on merging himself with his ladyboi demon-dragon-big-one-tiddy-goth-GF and eventually beating the cosmic entity of death and depression in a children's card game in order for said cosmic entity to un-kill every living being on the planet (which includes all of the Duel Monsters characters, and Season 0/manga-exclusive Yugioh characters. That's right, it is canon that Yugi Moto, Seto Kaiba, and Joey Wheeler are all killed off during the last arc of the show temporarily, due to them all losing a children's card game).

If it wasn't for Storyline. Seeing Joey Vs Yugi, Battle City Finals wouldn't have made sense. If the Duel to same the World would have been the Semifinals instead of the Final Battle. But trust me. I was Soooooo!! Pulling for Joey to Win against Marik, that would have Been Beautiful 😉
Just rewatched this duel an hour ago and was reminded why it's been one of my favorites ever since it aired in 2005 (US): The stakes are so good with them both trying to save Mai, the armor cards just seem to fit so well and never striked me as wtf, I loved how they eventually come to respect each other and are pushing each other to their physical and mental limits. And then Valon acknowledging to Mai that he understands what she saw in Joey. And the Orichalcos music taking away his soul but the tune is slowed down and it's just sooooo sad and heartbreaking. Not to mention right after Joey acknowledging Valon for being a good guy and duelist when Mai said he's a loser. Like this is top 5 duels in Yugioh for me and this duel doesn't get enough love. Why I love the Orichalcos season
Konami always nerfing cards when they releasing them. Its annoying when they do that. i wish after releasing cards they will leave in their original position(i meant they need stop change effects from anime and keep effects the same as in anime).
At the time broken, but there were a few counters and other things that would've screwed over Valon's deck even if it were released as it is during Old School Yugioh. >Being a deck consisting of low powered attack monsters possessing powerful effects, monsters with high attack and that are immune to card destruction effects would have a field day vs this guy. Heck, monsters that negate effects during the battle phase would bypass Black Hole shield although those would not come until later. >Field nukes. Joey exploited this one with Lord of The Red >A Skill Drain would shut down everything outside of magic and trap cards until it was gone from the field.

I swear the Orichalcos season did justice to Joey. This guy was getting nothing but wins. I gotta say I had fun watching his battles, seeing what he would fuse with Hermos.

I liked the duel and how Valon is what Joey would've turned out to be had he never had an adorable younger sister who looks up to him and if Yugi never entered his life. I think the duel picked up tremendously when Joey unleashed his Aura Armor and Lord of the Red, just so we can get some good ol' fistcuffs going up!
That’s the saddest thing about the game now-a-days, theirs no back and forth anymore it’s just whoever has the most disruption on the 1st turn and basically completely dominates the other player
Gotta love how Yugi and Yami preach heart of the cards, but they still have a strategy behind their plays. That why I feel Joey's heart of the cards is the real deal seeing how he jumps into situations like these and leaves it to fate

While I absolutely love the duels between Atem and Kaiba, and Yugi and Atem, it’s this duel that really made this arc feel special to me. Joey has been the butt of everyone’s jokes until now when he literally fights hand to hand with his opponent with both their souls on the line. And you can see the toll it puts on both of them, to the point that in the end they both end up respecting each other.
Yeah, but Alister and Valon would have their anime decks, albeit a bit nerfed because of the 3 zones or another deck of monsters. What worries me is Rafael's Guardian Deck, as it's decent, but quite weak irl. I hope they know how to adapt it.

The game didn't start becoming fast enough to where they could fit an entire duel into one episode until like... Zexal at the very earliest (and iirc there were still some 3 parters).
The options: GX: Using children's card games to become part-demon and kill the grimm reaper after he (essentially killed but not "actually" killed) every living person on earth. 5Ds: Using children's card games to cause/prevent a nuclear apocalypse. Zexal: Using children's card games to rewrite reality in space. Arc-V: Using children's card games to split the history of the world into four separate dimensions (based on summoning methods of said children's card games) and then go into dimensional war using said children's card games to destroy cities and turn randos into trading cards. Vrains: Using children's card games to create living AI and trap people's souls in VR via children's card games-induced computer viruses.

Los dragones ya están en caja. Y de todas formas los eventos del anime en duel links son basura, siempre son lo mismo y las cartas que dan de recompensa no tienen nada que ver con el evento.

Most badass duel ever... & My fav one which is weird..joey for most people is underrated but this duel is different
This duel purposely shows that Valon had "My Body As A Shield" in his hand, however he couldn't play it due to his LP.
The battle of the accents
I hope Valon's Armor card gets printed. But if their effects were to be changed, I would give them the ability to be equipped with other monsters the user controls (mostly Warrior Types).
