Man those are some beautiful rounds!!! Pretty awesome when one round splits out to like a Quarter Cord!!!! 😂😂👍👍. That splitter is an absolute beast!!! That hydraulic lift flips those massive rounds up to the table like they are light as a feather!!! Man O man is that the king of splitters!!! It’s really fantastic that you are going around and blessing folks with the free splitting because you were fortunate enough to have gotten the splitter to demo.... I absolutely love your wild and crazy love of the wood and that you are preaching that we can make the world a better place...right now if we will love our neighbors...love everyone !!! Fir is about the same BTU as most hardwoods. Doug Fir to White Oak for example is 26M BTU per cord compared to 28M BTU on oak. By contrast, maple is but 22.7M BTU. All this means it burns hot and thus clean.

We burn it in our wood stove here in Oregon. Some logs can be pretty pitchy and cause creosote. I always keep a tub of meecos dry creosote destroyer and add to every other fire.keeps pipes clean.but i burn hemlock, alder, port orford cedar, fir, pine, sitka spruce, alaskan yellow. If its seasoned its good..the fir is a great firewood in the PNW.

Despite having a convertible splitter--vertical & horizontal, you wind up spending a bunch of time bent over. This is clearly a back saver! However, I don't think it could handle the truly gnarly stuff I have to split! Mine is a 28 ton Oregon with the Honda engine (I have Honda's on all my stuff--Shreader, chipper, mower, pressure washer, rototiller, and all my splitters).

Being a tradesman, for 30 years, I watch guys roll. Your machine set up should be left to right, because thats how YOU roll.

@@BuckinBillyRaySmith ...I should say that machine is BAS ASS fast! I notice most of the splits come off the right of the head and you pick them up to move to conveyer. If they came off the left side, you would slide the split to exit. Much like you holster the axe.

i love these videos - but I love all your videos - but these log splitter ones are so satisfying.
also- how you're not wearing gloves whilst doing all this is so impressive to me. i imagine your hands are like leather 😅
