    I also think that the pawn was a sacrifice, because it gave his bishop a tempo to move forward. I have learned that piece activity is of foremost importance.

    A very nice positional squeeze. I had a similar game one time in OTB chess. My opponent took a pawn I gambited but after that he had no play and got all tangled up behind his pawns.

    Position and agility beats material. Also, the white queen far out to the left was not good either for white.

      Half your statement is true … I have never played Giri … however I am still very much alive .
