Eddie Howe has done things with teams the likes of PeP G never has.
Though it must be said that Eddie didn't get much better results with Newcastle initially, until some new players arrived in January. That being said, he then transformed existing players like Joelinton and Almiron so that they showed the ability that had been expected of them when bought a couple of years earlier. As a Portsmouth supporter, it reminds me of Harry Redknapp's "great escape" in 2005-6; he steadied the ship on arrival but the team was still heading firmly for relegation until new players obtained in the January transfer window had bedded in and got match fit.
