Farmed salmon is around $9.99-$10.99 where I live. Wild Alaskan is around $12.99. Not sure how that is three times as expensive. That being said my understanding is farmed used to be really bad but has improved substantially. I need to do more research.

Pyridoxal (not pyridoxine) magnesium and vitamim D3 help more than worrying about histamine content in food. Any bioactive vitamin B complex has Pyridoxal. Pyridoxal is necessary for histidine pathways. If you're only getting pyridoxal from pyridoxine, you're not getting enough as the body cannot convert more than 2mg from pyridoxine to pyridoxal.
all i know is when I ate wild-caught in USA I felt good. But in Japan eating the farm-raised from Chile I felt weird. now mind you, I thought in Japan I was eating wild-caught, after all its a big island known for its dish. I couldn't understand why I felt a bit off, i asked my hubby to translate and he said it's from farms in Chile, I went all over the town looking for wild-caught salmon and there is none, maybe in a big city like Tokyo, imported from Norway. In fact, I thought when I went to the conveyor-belt sushi in Japan that it was wild-caught, but its all farmed. I'm guessing the super expensive sushi restaurants that cost $50 pp may use wild-caught?
Salmon isn't indigenous to Japan and so it's all imported. Also if you're eating it raw it's way safer for it to be farm raised as salmon from the wild has a high likelihood of parasites.
The real reason they don’t have it Japan because they usually eat it raw or under cooked and wild salmon if full of parasites. Better farmed salmon comes from Norway.
My take is, if its not natural then its not to be eaten. This is why we are so poisoned in this country, because we try to innovate everything even our food.
As someone who used to work at a salmon farm.... I ain't eating that shit. 😂

Fish there is eating plenty of shit though

Wild Alaskan cod maybe. All Alaskan salmon is farm raised

Its crazy how many angry comments there are here. He is 100% correct. New studies do show that farm raised salmon have no danger behind them

What salmon is lower in histamine? I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and it gets confusing trying to figure out what’s lower histamine.

Do farm raised salmon still eat shit, vegetable oil and stuff that a fish has no business eating? Then I'll continue to skip it.
