This video is such a validating moment for us trombone players. A trombone player is front-lining with a good looking/talented singer while the saxaphone and trumpet players are obscured in the background... ... it doesn't happen often but it's nice to see the bone up front!!
Just found my funky Abba cd after losing it 2 years ago. Played it on the long journey home full blast. Drumming along to it the whole way. F***ing amazing album. Great band.
i heard these guys when i was on holiday with family in stockholm, im so glad i did! theyre just so groovy its not fair! and i saw victoria tolstoy (the daughter of the great author!) in aberdeen, she was awesome! but to the man with the red horn...i love you!!
I've seen the Funky Abba Concert twice, in Koblenz and in Bingen. That's great music. Really Awesone Funky Stuff! I'm very looking forward to the next Funk Unit Album. And Viktoria Tolstoy is just great!
yeah i know, read above. the red horn comment was referring to mcp's lyrics from the track 'red horn' from the live in stockholm album. he is the man with red horn!
True but I think the energy is better here, I'm planning on using this as the first tune to learn in a funk band I'm starting and I think I'm taking a cross between this live track and the CD track for my cover.
Oplevede Nils Landgren - mande med det røde horn - for første gang i går på Svensk TV. Sikke dog en et elskeligt og musikalsk menneske. Og vi er vilde med den instrumentale måde, han bruger sin stemme på. Men fr. Tolstoy er også glimrende. :*
@romishark I've been transcribing a lot of nils solo's lately... his playing is almost a study in perfect funky use of chromaticism, you could almost write a book on how to play funk for trombone using only him and Fred Wesley... Check out his solo on "6 beauties on a roof top" from "5000 miles"
She's trying too hard, she's too excited. This is a known pattern of her on stage. Unfortunately it does the song no good, since she's almost screaming. But on the album version she's great!
His solo is the funkiest 44 seconds I've ever heard.

ahhh, that voice! I mean Nils!! ANgelic!
They are like honey to the ears. Wonderful music.
I love Mr Landgrens' Abba covers--and assisted by a singer who has a famous great, great, greatgrand dad I hear.
As i have never heard this song on a CD i think this performance cant sound better.
I am SOOOO SURE: Even ABBA folks like this interpretations from Nils! Man, that is GROOVY!
Nils is so clumsy and cute! Viktoria is my all-time favourite, though.. ;)

Could not disagree more. This performance is just better than studio. I love it.
They just destroyed the song. Ugly ugly.
