- In this video Hives frontman Howlin' Pelle Almqvist shows how to control the crowd while belting out the band's classic tune "Hate To Say I Told You So".
The Hives anticipated new album Lex Hives is out on June 5, 2012. In celebration, the band is taking over Noisey. Every day this week, Noisey will post exclusive video footage from The Hives performance at Webster Hall Studio on April 26. The buzzed-about underplay at the 300-capacity venue was widely acclaimed, with MTV praising their "Superhuman capacity for consistent excellency," and SPIN anointing Howlin' Pelle Almqvist as "one of the greatest frontmen in rock."

I can't tell who is having more fun, The Hives or the audience. These guys are so great. No pretention, just great music and fun.
I think it's probably more fun seeing them in a club setting than at a festival

It is like that cause festivals always have people just there to being drunk and shit. But i saw these guys with other 20k at least. 20k people that sang their hearts out, that shit was amazing

Saw these guys at the shakey knees music festival last week and was completely blown away. Best set of the whole weekend. I went in wanting to be one of The Strokes and came out wanting be one of The Hives.
Howlin' Pelle, best frontman ever! A punk Jagger with etiquette, a master of ceremonies and an evangelist, all rolled up into one.

I have been to a lot of concerts and can say that these guys are the best I have seen live ever... they are just a wall of sound and energy. Also, one of the best front men of my generation, “please roll up my sleeve audience.” Hahaha

I've worked in a world class arena for a decade or two and I have seen just about everything and anyone. Besides working there I have also been to concerts both in my home country and others. I love going to concerts. I miss going to concerts (stupid pandemic)
I have seen my favorite band, U2, on 20+ occasions world wide. Last U2 show I saw was in Tokyo december 5th 2019.
However....as much as I love U2; the best live performances I have ever seen is that of The Hives. Except from David Bowie.

The outro on the album version of this always gives me bumps. Anyone who plays in a band will have experienced that time when the frequency of the drums at the right time reverbs in the right room when the floor n everything bounces. Can feel that on the album track. Love it.
