    The block paving gave a particularly satisfying clean (from 2:29)!
    I've deliberately not talked through the video, as I know this will irritate those who just love to watch the pressure washer do it's thing! For those who want it, my thoughts/review is below.
    0:13 - Summary
    0:19 - Wooden table - Before
    0:28 - Wooden table - During cleaning with the Kärcher K5
    1:47 - Wooden table - After (immediate and next day)
    2:14 - Patio (smooth paving) - Before
    2:29 - Patio (smooth paving) - During cleaning with the Kärcher K5
    3:23 - Patio (smooth paving) - Removing hard-to-remove dark spots
    4:06 - Patio (smooth paving) - After (next day)
    4:25 - Block paving - During cleaning with the Kärcher K5
    13:48 - Block paving - After (next day)
    The K5 is one of Kärcher's more powerful pressure washers, and looks the business. I originally intended to review it versus the Kärcher K2.36 that we were also using. The difference was too big though to make them a fair comparison.
    Kärcher K5 versus wooden table (good results) - from 0:19
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    We did half the table top for comparison. The wood didn't seem bad before, but the pressure washing removed lots of dirt and gave the wood back some colour. This was a fast way to get the furniture looking good for a new season of use.
    Kärcher K5 versus patio slabs (good results) - from 2:14
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    The difference was more dramatic than is obvious from the video. The between slabs was a bit of an issue, as the pressure threw them about a bit. The quality of clean was good though, although some very dark spots were particularly difficult to remove, and it took very close use of the wand to remove them (too close to be reasonable to do across a large area). The overall improvement was still impressive.
    Kärcher K5 versus paving (amazing results) - from 4:25
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    The block paving had been in-place for at least 10 years, if not 20+. The difference therefore was huge, and reasonably easy to achieve. I particularly love the last shot in this video, where it shows the point we stopped at. These are genuinely equal aged blocks, though it looks like the clean ones are brand new... pressure washing success here.

    I also purchased the K5 recently but when I release the trigger the pump/motor makes a weird noise then shuts, does it also happen to you ? Is it normal ? I tried to find a part in your video that shows how your K5 sounds when you release the trigger but couldn't find that part ...

    • @Artexic
      @Artexic  Před 4 lety

      Hi MrUriel250, I don't remember thinking of it as weird. Looking at the video, it looks like the trigger is released shortly after 1:46, 4:00 and 12:00. There's no odd sound there I don't believe, so I imagine it maybe worth contacting Kärcher and your seller to ensure you have notified them within warranty. Amazing piece of kit, so well worth getting it checked to ensure it lasts well for you.

      @@Artexic I already found another video on youtube that has the same sound of mine when releasing the trigger ... but apparently after a few days of using it, it does not do that anymore, probably I only had to "break in" the machine for a few hours and now it works flawlessly, I am so happy with it ... I just finished cleaning my garden now :)

    Really good test 👍 have you felt at a point that it could need a bit more power? I would do the same garden cleaning like u but Im not sure about K5 vs. K7 🤔

    • @Artexic
      @Artexic  Před 5 lety +8

      Hi GeorgeF... the power seemed fine for most tasks, though I'm a perfectionist, and those dark spots at 3:22 were irritating to remove. If you can afford it, I'd be tempted to go up to the K7, to be sure you have enough power for anything you need it for in the future. If not, I think you'll find the K5 more than enough for most tasks. Although it wasn't a short task, the K5 has made the path and patio look brighter, and brought out the colours that were there when they were originally laid. We think it was 10-20 years of dirt that was being removed in the video... so for me the K5 is impressive.
      I had originally planned to compare the K5 to the basic K2 that many buy for washing their car. Comparing the two became ridiculous though as the K5 was so much more powerful.
      At £100 more, I get why you're considering the option of the K7. I've not tried a K7, but imagine it would make jobs faster, so probably worth it if you have large areas to clean. If you don't, I'm sure the K5 will do you proud.
      I hope that helps.

      Thanks a lot for your long and informative answer 👍🏻 - First I also thought about car washing and a bit cleaning and wanted a K3 but after watching yt I ended up with k5/k7 😂 Today I bought the K7 premium... because it was just 60€ more than the K5 - if I would have bought the k5 i would have always thought about the k7 😂 - and the k7 has a brass pump that might do it longer - stone cleaning is fun now 👍🏻 greetings from Austria

      There is a more powerful lance than the Vario Lance to use on those stubborn “spots” and patches. It has a cone-shaped end. Care has to be taken when using it as it WILL blast paint off and strip wood!! Not sure what it’s called, but I have got that one AND the Vario Lance. The other one is a more “concentrated” water jet, hence more powerful at shifting really difficult marks and stains. I’ve also got the patio head....which is superb. I’ve got the older Karcher model, not the Full Control one. I love it....and can’t stop using it once I start Lol. Take care using between slabs, as it can blast cement, if any, from between the slabs (as I sadly found out). Do make sure pets are not around!!.....this K5 beast could really, REALLY harm your beloved pet.

    I have one too and I love that there is plenty of power. What I don't quite like is how heavy it is (difficult to move around), and how difficult it is to get the hose to untangled.

    • @Artexic
      @Artexic  Před 4 lety

      Hi netnoob77. The weight didn't surprise actually, but you're bang on about the hose... it does like a bit of a fight. That said, it feels like a hose that will last, so I tend to forgive it ;)

    Hi there :) I'm a german guy, who has a blog and YT Channel about high pressure cleaning. On my blog i want to advise the people on the purchase of a high-pressure cleaner. Therefor i need to test as many cleaners as possible. But i recognize, that its very time consuming to make all these test by myself. In order of that i try to make partnerships with other people who maked tests about high pressure cleaners. May I use excerpts in the form of image and video from your Kärcher K5 test video on my website and channel? Of course, I would name you as the author and link to your channel and website.Greetings from germany by Micha :)

    • @Artexic
      @Artexic  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Micha, sorry for the slow reply, I wanted to take a look at your blog and have a think about this.
      On reflection, I need to be careful about losing views from my videos. I'm therefore happy for you to use static images from my video (with an appropriate reference to the video URL), but would ask that you don't edit video clips into your own videos. The only exception to this, would be if you want to refer to my video as something to watch for those looking at this model. If you're doing that in your video, I appreciate it would be sensible (and I'm happy for you) to show a short excerpt from my video while you make that reference (under 15 seconds) to make the point of what video covers.
      I hope that helps. Your blog definitely looks thorough on the topic. Artexic
