Finish Grading Around A New Pool For Hydroseed

  • I spread 5 loads of topsoil and do the finish grade around this new pool for the same builder I'm working with on the basement job. We are on a time crunch and the pool guys are still finishing up so I got a late start. I rough grade the area then spread and prep the topsoil. A friend came and hydroseeded it on Monday. It turned out great and the customer was very happy! Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #pool

    i dont have a preparator, but i do have a rockhound, and i did stay at a holiday inn express once, so i guess that qualifies me to throw in an opinion? i backdrag with the bucket almost flat so that it throws rocks, roots, whatever into the bucket, then i pile it off the side or in the truck. then for final dress, we do just like you, it really does good. sure cuts down on hand work! i lucked into ours, picked up 3 final grades the same day i found the rockhound, salesman had no idea what it was, i called him asking price, had to tell him where it was, and he shot me price, i talked him down a bit, and picked it up and paid it off in cash the same day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on a personal note, im improving in my cancer fight, still not swallowing but its coming back slowly.........stay safe, keep up the vidjas!!!!!!!!!!

    I hope the grey conduit on the ground is not electric for the pool or anything else. They put it 18 inches deep for a reason. I can see it now, the homeowner is in bare feet on wet grass and he drives in a metal stake and curls his hair.

    I believe the preparator that I had was made by FMC. I always ran it with everything flat on the ground and then lift the bucket arms up just enough to not touch. The one that I had, had a collection bin in it just behind the pulveriser drum so you could collect the rocks that didnt get pulverised and then you could lift the drum and dump the rocks outside of the area that you were finishing. It also mounted to the quick connect plate in place of the bucket. Keep up the quality work. Enjoy the 4th!

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  Před 4 lety

      Yeah that’s probably the same as this one. It’s made by FFC and it has a bucket on it. I just run with the arms up while prepping the topsoil cause I don’t want any going into the bucket. Appreciate the comment

    Use the way you're most effective with it. Everything has pros and cons to using it. You do a great job with it. I would say you're getting the same results as a Harley rake. The only advantage to the Harley rake is the gauge wheels allow you to steer through a radius and angle it right or left. In my opinion the Harley rake won't pick up the rocks in a hopper, so that gem you have is better in that regard. Cheers. Enjoy your Independence Day.

      Yeah I wasn’t sure about it either I’m thinking it’s been there awhile and they tore the old house down and built this one. Appreciate you watching

    is there a reason why you always run the "bucket" that way ? I never have run one of those but I always thought the bucket/screen thingy was there to pickup littlerock/branches exactly like my grandma's sweeper was doing (dont know if you are old enough to have played with those roller sweeper that picked up dust/little object)

      Doh you explained it at the end lol... well why there is that bucket with holes then ? its crap i guess lol

      There is a reason I run it that way. I run it flat when I go over the rough grade to collect the rocks and run it with the arms up when I’m going over the finish grade so it throws the dirt not collects it

    Well, this is how problems start and multiply from there ... if you can't back up in a straight line, how is the grassification guy supposed to plant the grass seeds in a straight line? I bet you, a few weeks down the road the homeowner will have to hire another guy to straighten out the rows of freshly grown grass blades because of your wavy lines in the dirt.

      🤣🤣 it’s a never ending cycles. That’s why they recommend mowing in different directions they are eventually bound to get it 😁

      @@eliteearthworksllc ... now that makes perfect sense. It also explains why mowing the lawn and drinking beer go together so perfectly. The more beer, the different the directions.
