i'm gonna build this in my backyard to get away from my brothers lol
This is genius. Plenty of storage and access under the beds.
Thinking could use as a greenhouse or a playhouse
I would only add curtains at the crossover members that would be stored wrapped around the outer uprights and I think I would put that outer bed on locking wheels and create a rotating lip to bring that bed outside as a bench when entertaining but I suppose it could be lifted and set out just as well.
Absolutely brilliant ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing 🤗
I've been waiting awhile to see this place LOVE IT
it's a cabin in the woods, a frame style, why the harsh comments. I could see doing this on a 10'w x 12' or 14' deep with insulation and a wood stove for heat and water warming, shower at the YMCA.
Here next to the HOH rainforest where I live. The water running done the outside wall/window thing would be super cool to watch.
Nice, it's basically a wooden tent. But being wood, I say make it at least twice as long then.
That would make a nice room for a bath/ storage area hooked up to a larger A-frame home that has,an actual kitchen and wood stove.
Really nice... great job!
Or great quick build to live in while building bigger at later date...
Really beautiful, love it, would be my dream A frame cottage, great video, Thanks.
amazing tiny house and price too
lol when he turned that ceiling fan on I had a final destination flashback! that could have easily been the end of the camera mans life lmao
I think it was a camera girl
That fan would not kill anybody, you could stick your finger in it with no problems, lmao
This is awesome!!
I like it. It looks very cool.
This is my dream home!!!!
It would be really nice to implement a traditional Japanese style living space into this with tatami and a fold-up shikibuton for bedding. A desk could be built into one side to create a fully functional house. The beds take up way too much area in this design, but the structure itself is cozy and very nicely done.
that's a pain in the butt to air out and store. I am using a 6" high-density foam mattress now for 6 months, and while I don't completely regret it, I still have to let it air out on its side for a few hours and roll up the bedding - after airing that out separately on two heavy duty hooks over the door.
If I had my own place, a foam mattress with a murphy bed would be easier - still allowing it to air out, though, before putting it away. The cotton of Japanese futon mattresses is nontoxic and environmentally-friendly, but won't last nearly as long as foam. Foam can last decades and can be replaced separately or even laundered.
Screaming! Building ours this year!
You could make four of these and make a square. Then you'll have a courtyard.
i just got the plans to do this cabin. i have to thank you for the vid about yours that got me looking for this kind of project.
Did you get them from RelaxShacks?
@@gage8225 the link for this plan is in the description after A-frame plans sets.
very cute! i wish i was a builder! I still need to make that yurt video for you! lol
Saw the quick note about a bathroom. Would have liked to have seen that. What about heating?
I love a frames home but I like something a little bigger.
It says getaway cabin not house. What part of 'getaway'as in 'weekend getaway' do some commentors not understand? Nice design and could even be adapted as a greenhouse. Orchids rock the Casbah!
Ide trade my town house in the city for this in a heart beat. 👌
Crap sorry I missed the event, I want to catch the next one I guess.
Cool looking!
Brilliant. I'm going to build 4 of them!!!!!!! To combine into one off grid house!!!!!!!
Wouldn't it be cool if they all opened into each other with that wing wall! :) (Dreamin' here ... haha)
@@supersolarpower4191 build the wing wall into a permanent wall and put a frame up half a meter so the roof is higher. 4 of them together in an octogon shape. One side of wing wall in the middle to combine into one room. Just scale up the plans for a bigger cabin
Abe Coulter
How goes the build?
Any video?
Wondering why people don't go with a car 12 V AC fan mounted to blow the heat out?
FRUGAL PRIUS-RV espescially since they have small solar arrays to power 12 v appliances.
Good job!!!! I would like to be there also to live.
Easy to add on.
Nice design and well presented 👍
thanks sharing nice little set up
Would be cool if that couch folded out over the deck to lay under the stars.
He mentioned that in the video when he was raising that side up over the deck to form an awning...
My Dad has a place in Darby that, I’d love to see that on.
I like it, nice place to get away!
Just like a tent, but more permanent. Nice.
Ot would be nicer if they built the small bathroom.on the outside with a outdoors shower that has some privacy
Love it!!
I totally live in the same town where this tiny house is built lmao
wow looks like a giant tent 😍👌
I believe that is more of the concept than an actual 4 season house like the above commenters are freaking out about
Kelli ah thank u for the information
I need to move to Montana. It's beautiful...
2 feet wider, 4 feet longer, and a 6x8 bathroom added onto far end makes it a nice setup...
The idea is really nice. It's just way to small make it x3 as big for $2000 and your almost perfect
where can I find the design for this structure???
awesome job..well done :)
Like the header I would screen that in containing the up wall ideal for Louisiana and our billions of bugs.
Mosquito net fabric attached/snapped to the three sides of the wing before lifting. A door slit. Ta da.
The plans mention it, and the original one we built has screening. @@STho205
It's nice to try something different.
i wish there was more detail on finances even if it over $700 i is still cool just wish they would show that more of the honest amount
The original plans have a price breakdown for what it would cost to build for most... They did it for less because they had materials on hand and made changes to the plans to work with the materials they had instead of having to buy it all... But that's unique to them and it's not like you can easily line itemize everything when you're improvising and not everything you're using has a set price.
$1200 with all new materials, but they reused, had some existing stuff, and found some other stuff....
cool project. cool vid. do you know the guys from apocalypse auto?
Wow, awesome!
Love ❤❤❤❤❤, fist bumps 👊👊👊👊👊, high fives/pats on the back ✋✋✋✋✋
Build a couple of them over time like different rooms of a house
Saw the same one, lady in California, said that the actual price for hers was $10k. Literally the same shack LOL
So cute!
Won't this be easily raided in the woods when no ones near?
how did you guys avoid or make this happen with zoning laws and residential building laws?
where can I find the desgns
I really want 1 some thing small simple and off grid
I got my $600 stimulus and I need a place to live! 2 years in my car means I'm not picky! I get $820/month to pay it off but I have to move fast to apply $1k to a move and a down payment!
is this still available? if you don't respond I will take it to mean no. take down the video.
Grow lots of magic plants out there
I would love to have one but I'd burn up in the wicked hot Dallas TX sun. It's like being in the Sahara Desert, except with 80% humidity.
Hey I live in the Dallas metroplex
Super cool! :)
Pretty cool.
I like it!
Don't know about the price, but the design is great.
because an A-frame's side(s) are so step, for solar panels and passive heating, would a saltbox with a sliding glass door and the rest with solar panels be the best way for energy?
NEVER build on the ground if the structure is light-weight enough to avoid that. Moisture and bugs attack your house close to the ground. I've seen quite a few old tiny buildings built a century or more ago that are built 2.5 to 3' off the ground and have tin roofs. If they'd been built close to the ground or if they had shrubbery close to the walls outside, moisture and bugs would've destroyed the wood.
How does elevating it on a deck, keep the snow from crushing it?
Porkchop's Papi , an elevated structure has a better thermal capacity in a cold climate and would normally be elevated higher than snow or potential water levels.
....SOOO COOOOOL...GREAT IDEAS....LESS IS MORE....THE SAME FOR FOUR? :))))
What type of plastic clear did you use for solar awning?
It's polycarbonate plastic roofing panel.
We're do you buy one of these!???!?!
Sure you did !!
Just found your channel
soooo late fall through early spring. ?
Whats that ceiling fan model?
You're really going to trust that rope? I suggest you secure that with pins/latches of some sort after raising it.
Not a sailor I take it. Marine line is much stronger and long lasting than household chain or the scrap lumber this thing is made from.
The regular plan does not call for this rope rig- they added it, but a rope would work fine as you mentioned. The original plans have legs that fold down an lock into place (the deck).
Not kidding, this could house only three people, me, myself and I.
No calefaction? Must be really cold...
Love it but cant do winter man got be in the tropical art of the world
interesting idea not very functional for northern climates were we get -20c+ winters but thanks for sharing :)
Sounded like he said they live in Montana, although they probably don't use it in the winter.
let's say i buy one but then I would have 0 money left .... how long would i survive in there ??
We're do you Buy One!???!?!?!!!
A tent with hard sides.
每一款迷你屋我都喜欢 甚至幻想是我的 呵呵呵 好看 好棒 梦里拥有吧!谢谢分享
It's just Missoula, the rest of Montanas arent drunks! 😅
Well no loft kinda ruins it having beds below takes up c vailuable room like most of it. Shoulda stuck to the plans...
Who wants a 3rd wheel in such an idyllic setting?
Wow hard tent
Secret sauce
Before I clicked on, I thought the roof was made with solar panels instead of windows. That has cost savings.
This is an awesome addition to a property. Also, a great minimalist weekend getaway option. Most of my weekends are spent in a Tent, so this is a definite step up! The outhouse extension makes it practical/comfortable for longer stays. In response to the comment below stating that "this is not a house". It was not intended to be a "Home", the title clearly states it as a "getaway". If you are looking to buy a "Home" for $700.00 you are in a lot more of a bind, than requiring a kitchen or insulation. Great job THL on the design and kudos to Deek for making it happen @ a $700.00 price point. (The future is bright :)
Is it Bear proof?
How bear proof is that thing?
sooo cute
Montana!!!
this house would be perfect for hunting
not discussed are water supply or heating or sanitation. Its basically a tent.
The plans are for the basic shell- all those things, much like many other structures, could be added on your own if you wanted them (or not). Anyway, thanks for checking it out! Happy new year.
Where is the kitchen and bathroom?
Bathroom is the tree and kitchen is the campfire.
Wrong sun angle bro
Deck should be a step down from the hut...but yall do what the fk yall wanna do.
Turning a 14x30 or 40 foot pre-built shed into a cabin is one thing but you can't live in something as small as the building in this video but it would make a nice addition
quacksackerthegreat Starfire a life worth living happens outdoors for some.
No bathroom?? Yikes. Meet a grizzly bear while your taking a dump.
Ya it's not a fucking house you pussy. Go take ur piss outside. You know like humans have been doing for thousands of years.
@@zmohan69 lol well said
So... basically, a really expensive, permanent tent, tarp or shelter.
This is not a house. It's two beds and a shelf.
My shed is bigger than that
The Bunker It works for camping! Better than lying on the ground!
Plans mention ideas for a bathroom.... also, many have been built with a heat source, it has storage, and a food prep area. Also, I refer to it as a CABIN.... but it could be lived in if you had to, were a minimalist.....
@@derekdiedricksen9170 more like sub-minimalist, not very useful, an example of the least. Review and create ones own "better" version. Otherwise, skip it.
I completely disagree with you- especially as quite a few of these have been built, insulated, and outfitted with amenities (stepping onward from the "basic shell" idea/plans), but to each their own- definitely not for everyone, or for most. Happy new year too. @@LeslieIsgrigg
You could have a nice big tent ,wtf ?
or a yurt.
