    Good shopping excursion guys. Sunflower oil very cheap. Here in Poole about £2.00 so about €2.20 over there. The comparisons I suppose are based on what needs to be imported, the import taxes and deals the supplier has with the distributor, especially the major brands. In general I would say your trolley is far more healthy on the wallet. I guess from where I am down on the coast about 15% cheaper. Again some items more expensive there and some cheaper..at least the wine is always a great deal🍷

    Hi Steve & Anita, you might know this already but as we live in france always fascinated how many french chains are in spain.
    Auchan a french company, & Al Campo in spanish means the same thing.
    Auchan created as a play on pronunciation over here 'au champ' is pronounced auchan hence the name of the shop. Meaning: In the field / countryside. Just a bit of useless info for you 😅 ttfn. Kes &Ant in france. Happy shopping x

    Nice walk round Al Campo - must say it has grown since we used to frequent it! Cost of living does seem to be a bit more expensive over there!

    Really shocked about the Olive oil prices 😮 crazy. Everywhere is getting very expensive and after some research the U.K. is paying nearly half of our American friends. Great video 👍🏻

    Fabulous supermarket. Great fish counter. I do know if I shopped in that particular supermarket I would probably spend a lot of money because of the choice and that’s what it’s all about. Thanks Steve and Anita.

    Buen paseo y compras. Cuando podía conducir íbamos con frecuencia a Alcampo.
    Saludos para los dos.

    Thanks for the video Steve. It must be difficult for the expats on a British pension as lots of things more expensive over there. How does it compare to the likes of Lidl and Aldi? You certainly need the cafeteria after a shop there.

    What an enormous supermarket, it's more a 'mega'market. Never seen something that big over here in Holland.......

      It is probably the biggest one on the island, but Carrefour near to the airport is pretty big.

    Why don’t you ever buy Fresh fish?

      We never have, and don't often eat fish at home. We will have fish in a restaurant and occasionally buy frozen fish to make a fish pie.

    Self service checkouts are the worst, it’s not only taking away someone’s job, but it also means you don’t interact with an employee. Let alone making a company and its directors even richer by saving on paying people a wage.

    I am very surprised Steve that you like instant coffee instead of proper coffee.

    • @SteveandAnitainMallorca
      @SteveandAnitainMallorca  Před 8 měsíci +1

      We have both, but I guess I have carried on the habit from work, where I used instant coffee everyday.

      @@SteveandAnitainMallorca 90g instead of 100g - probably for the same price - this happens where we live - its called "Shrinkflation" - pretty much an underhand trick.
