- The Vermont Winter has not been kind to our trails, we've got a lot of trail building and cleanup work ahead of us to get our Mountain Bike trails back up and running. So let's not waste anymore time, and now let's get back to work!

Clearly all those sticks are piled up so you can light it on fire while doing the Gap. So modest Phil.

"How to boost engagement: Make people yell at me". Good one, Phil
Jake Paul has made a career out of it. Not the route I'd ever want to go but it works.
I came here just to offer unsolicited opinions, thanks for the opportunity

Yay I got a star and it only cost me attention!
Damn right I get a star
yayyy i get a star
I’d like my golden star please! ;)
There are two approaches to building forest roads, 1) Bulldozer. This typically results in a road that is "dug in" to the landscape, and 2) Excavator. This is done by digging out the material from the ditch and placing it in the middle of the road and then compacting and shaping it. The bulldozer approach is faster because you don't have to wait for the material to dry when it is constructed, but all the water from the surrounding landscape ends up in the road and it is forever sloppy. The excavator road takes longer to build but because it has drainage and it's higher then the landscape, and you can put a crown on the road for the water to run off, you end up with a much more useable road for more seasons. Since soil loses all structural integrity when wet, as Phil pointed out, nearly no forest roads are open in the spring until everything dries as to not ruin the road surface. Keep it up Phil, love the vids.
So I got off work today and came home and did 3 hours of yard work and landscaping, go in and get in the hot tub and turn on CZcams, watch Phil do yard work, good productive Tuesday, thanks Phil
Now that’s a good session right there.
I love the 100% to scale map. It's these quality touches which set this channel apart from similar, but less classy, entertainment options.
;) Great vid Phil. I love the aerial shots at the end - this was really awesome!
Yeah that was Really good!
Who doesn't rewind to read all of the text???? You put a lot of work into making this video. The least I can do is watch thoroughly. ⭐
Some days judging by comments I get on videos, sometimes I question if they actually watched the video. Thanks for the kind words and here's your star as promised ⭐️
Here's some engagement. at 5:10 you filled the middle of the jump with many flammable materials. You know what to do
I follow through on many bad ideas, but there's some I don't follow through on. I think this is one of them :P
I live in New England as well and I think people not from around here will be confused that you are wearing a T shirt and say there was snow 2 days ago 😂
Ha ha! Not if you are from Scotland. It's like that here some days during the end of winter and spring. We know that phenomenon well too.
@@RicardoPetrazzi people from California be like. Wat you mean it’s not 75 year round?
Except weather way more varied than that exists all over. Try going to the Rockies where you can go from snow to T-shirt on the same day.
Same in Michigan
Remember if you are a true new englander any weather is shorts weather haha.
I really like the drone shot! I hope you’ll show us VT trail this summer as we, Quebecers, won’t be able to visit again this summer. I want to see the new trails!
I’m not usually glad winter is over but it’s good to have Phil back. ⭐️
I had a great winter myself, I was sad to see it go but the moment I got a taste of spring my mind switched focus. Anyway, here's your star ⭐️
Hey Phil!! Welcome back! Yeah, our trails on our hill have been ... tough this "spring" in Vermont
. Thanks for the vids!!!
I have no idea where people got their gold star from, but the aerial view of the trail at the end of the video was really really cool!
Riding on your own land. Chills.
Thanks for the golden star, Phil! Love the trail builds!
You bet! ⭐️
Claiming my golden star lol ⭐️ epic video Phil!
This golden star will look nicely in the golden state ⭐️
He’s back!!! So stoked for videos again. Saw you and Hailey at Saxon yesterday but I didn’t say hi because I didn’t want to attract attention from the mob of people in the lot 😂 gotta love the crowds when there are only two trail systems open in NVT!!
I was glad to see so many people are out on bikes but that parking situation was interesting. I've never seen it so busy.
Just another golden star here. Welcome back, and with a nice hair cut! Wonderful video. 👍💪
The haircut was long overdue (that pun wasn't intended). Here's your star ⭐️
“Making it up as I go along” - my style of organizing too!
I get severely overwhelmed by choices if I try to plan things out and I spend too much time planning. I found I just have to do something, and whatever we start it'll be better than what we had. If it's not working, I can refine it later. Not everything needs to be the perfect solution.
I CLAIM MY GOLDEN STAR.
Great video, I was wanting to build my own backyard trail, so I watched this for a few hints.
Ask and you shall receive 🌟🌟🌟
Good luck on your backyard! If you are interested in more, I've started posting the trail building videos on my secondary channel here czcams.com/users/TheBasicMTBer
I think you should build or connect a trail under that Flyover and it would be Awesome!
Hey Phil, I think you should turn that pit that was created by the hurricane into a mini dirt bowl
Keep being you Phil. That's why people watch.
Great content Phil. I am really enjoying the way you film and edit your content. Keep on riding!
We've had a long winter. Glad to be out riding again. (without snow)
The drone shots of you on t eh new trail in the trees was great!
The way you guys are tackling the drainage problems is really impressive! LOVING the trail building content!
Just here to claim my gold star! 🌟 great editing!
Yay finally the backyard build I love this
A lot of work! Nice edit Phil
Thanks a lot Micheal
Boosting the engagement for my buddy phil
Haircut looks really good Phil!
Oh Vermont... we love it, but we don't! HAhaha Nice work Phil!
That collapsed section could be the sickest jib pit
You built a shed that doubles as a feature. Nice 🙌
Awesome video! Cool to see all your effects come together for you guy to enjoy riding in your own yard. Hope to to see you guys on the trails this season!
Great to see the video’s coming out again! Can’t wait to see what this year has in store for adding to your backyard trail, and your riding in general! Keep up the awesome content!
Dang, I rewound to read it. I love the anticipated notes. Thanks!
Phil, your videos are addictive. love your work man!
Glad to see you building again and intrigued what you’re going to build in that hole.
That washout section (7:40) has got “bowl” written all over it. Maybe a little kicker off to one side for a possible gap jump. The build is looking brilliant! Keep doing what you do!
Nice drone shots. Showed the property really well
You just made me smile! Glad to see you back. Cheers!
Glad your back ! Enjoy your pod cast, great info. I’m getting back into mountain biking , I’m training hard , ride every day , working on the endurance . Keep up great job . The wife and you riding together , very cool ! Peaceout
Woot! Stoked to see more content from you, Phil.
Keep up the good work!
So cool to see you out in the woods working again!!!
your property is beautiful phil
What a satisfying video. I really enjoy watching you make your trails. I used to put branches and other stuff in between a gap jump but I went down to the jump line one evening and the kids riding it had set it on fire and were jumping over the flames so I stopped doing that. Thanks for the video and looking forward to what else you add to your trails.
Excited that you’re back making videos. These look like so much work!
Excellent video Phil ... Appreciate creators who solicit constructive criticism and actually listen to their audience. Nicely done! Love the format and pace!
Love the haircut Phil ✌️🌟
What an awesome place to build trail Phil....wow!
Great trail system you're building there! Nice to see that Hailey has progressed so much, she's looking a lot more confident on the bike. And, Phil got a haircut, looking good 👍
⭐️⭐️ my gold stars ! Great video!
Thank you!!⭐️
make an alternate line that goes under the fly over, that would be dope!
Getting ready to create my own trails, already have about 1 mile of walking paths/sxs paths. Going to use parts as w/s/mtb. Then merge to new single track trails, rolling hills of Ohio.. maybe will turn out nice. No plans for jumps at current time, just mix of the rolling hills, field, woods
Love the build videos!
Glad you like them!
Golden star ⭐️ for me
Golden star for me. And we don’t mind a joke landing wrong if it rarely would Phil, the videos are still fantastic. Keep it up
⭐️ Thanks Gretchen!
Thanks for the good star Phil! 🌟🌟🌟
You're very welcome! ⭐️
Spring in new england.mid 60s one day......a snowpocalypse the next day.....mid 60s the next day. Mother nature loves to keep us on our toes
The trail is looking good! Nice job
You have skills Phil.
Welcome back Phil!!
You are so grate at biking and I love your videos I also like biking a lot and want to be as good as you when I’m a little older . Your awesome
I really liked the full scope view at 6:23. It seems like you can see so much more and understand more clearly.
Excellent, Havnt seen the video yet but lookin forward to it.
Your videos are the best! I could watch you build trail all day. I would like my 🌟
At around 9:30 ish there is what’s appears the be wild Ramps, which a oniony garlicky plant that grows in forest, we have them in south Vermont and they are delicious, recommend you look into it
I haven't talked about this much but I worked in the culinary world for quite some time. I love ramps, I was ecstatic to see that we had an over abundance! We put some on a pizza with apple sausage last night. 😋
Another great video Phil!
Great video Phil!
Since I have not been Mountain biking for a little bit but you just got me back in
Sooooo awesome! Cant wait to have my own land and equipment to build my own epic trails.
Wowzah, nice work man!
Great to see you back
Having to deal with people trying to tell you what you should do on your own property is priceless🤣
I’m here for my golden star!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Your comment gets a rating of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
epic video phil!
Very nice video 👍👌
Make to tool storage area with a roof and walls that the water doesn't get to the tools what makes them less longer
Like your videos🚴♂️🤘
Agreed... also I've never seen buckets stored like that. If its rains they are just going to collect water. They should be stacked and stored upside down at least. I think he could relatively easily build that section into a cabinet and put in a floor raised off the ground and a little roof to shed water.
If they fill up, i can just dump out the water, it's a non issue. Besides between the hemlocks and The flyover, it stays pretty dry under there. Not perfect, but dry enough.
4:57 "i got 99 problems but the lean aint one"
Great trail. Thanks for the gold star!
You bet!⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yea, I went back and read it..🧐 looking good out there Phil!
come to Highland tomorrow please!
Here for a new SwP upload, and my golden star ⭐️
Here's your ⭐️ :)
getting 3 storms after 70 degree weather is the most Vermont thing ever.
Great video as always - it will be great to have a map featured in the video so we can understand where each line is located ..
There's a "comprehensive" map at the beginning of the last act.
Looks like a ton of fun, enjoy the vids😀
That washout looks like a good place to make a double corner, although it is hard to judge on camera wether it is possible to do so.
Anderson Silva : I back !
Excellent video Phil 👍!
Awesome work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for the gold star Phil, keep up the awesome work! :)
You're very welcome sir! ⭐️
Glad to see my type of humor in your videos lol. And it got me a star so yay
I'm glad we're on the same page, here's your star my friend ⭐️
Heck yeah man, spring cleaning for real
love the overhead footage of the tree falling. I definitely rewound the video to read the text and now I have to get see what was at 2:30 of last video.
Here's your start for reading the text ⭐️ and here's the part in question: czcams.com/video/V7ex3N68wn0/video.html
I like the new hair
great video man!
Hailey looks like she's shredding
I was about to ask about the second snow storm and then Phil was like in typical Vermont fashion there was a second snowstorm.... If you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes and check it again XD
you made me get into bikeing i'm 15 and i work 7 hours for 15 bucks a hour to save up for a bike. thanks for all you do
