I can’t recall and dare say that never before or since has there been a drummer (Neil) and bass player (Geddy) that plays to each other and compliments the other in all they play. While the lyrics and guitarist (Alex) just completes the master piece !!! Together, they’re master musicians, masters of ever changing time signatures in their musical creations, showmen, storytellers, entertainers of the highest skill and calibre, and above all during good times and in bad ... life long brothers and best of friends !!! How I lament Mr. Neil Peart’s passing. I still mourn his departure, but rejoice at his arrival !!! May you rest in eternal peace !!! RUSH !!! Celebrate with me every year on the 21st day of December (2112), a Rush Day !!! ( in case you didn’t ). Be loud and proud !!! Peace â˜źïž !!!

Another Rush fan has been born!
It's just too bad that they've retired as a band, I'm sure that you would have loved to see them live. Take it from me, it was definitely a great experience! At least there's plenty of live performance videos of them for you to enjoy. You're obviously a true music appreciator, and Rush has given us 40 years of awesome material to appreciate, that's for sure! This is one of my favorite Rush songs, it's a great storytelling song, and the music and lyrics take you on a journey through a futuristic time where gasoline powered vehicles have been outlawed by the government.
It's rebellious, glorious, and completely paints a picture in your mind. That's a hallmark of great writing, and something that seems to be lost in today's music.
So glad you are enjoying this legendary band! It's been a blast taking the journey along with you!
And yes... that's instruments creating the sound of the car engine accelerating, Geddy's synthesizer to be exact!
As always, Peace and love from Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A!

His Uncle has a house outside the city where he hides a Red Barchetta which is a nickname for Enzo Ferrari's Little Red Boat, the 1948 Ferrari 166MM. A small two seat race car with a tiny 1.5 liter V12 engine. In his time it is a crime to own and operate a car like this. The young man being born out of his time.

It was a fine morning in March 1982. The warm weather and clear sky gave promise of an early spring. Buzz had arisen early that morning, impatiently eaten breakfast and gone to the garage. Opening the door, he saw the sunshine bounce off the gleaming hood of his 15-year-old MGB roadster. After carefully checking the fluid levels, tire pressures and ignition wires, Buzz slid behind the wheel and cranked the engine, which immediately fired to life. He thought happily of the next few hours he would spend with the car, but his happiness was clouded - it was not as easy as it used to be.

New subscriber. I think you would be doing yourself a service by looking into Ronnie James Dio. He will probably be on any shortlist for greatest 70’s-80’s metal lead-singer. I’m pretty stunned you haven’t checked his stuff out yet. Part of his legend was his short stature. He was 5’4 but he had an IMMENSELY powerful voice. He headlined several iconic metal bands so the list I have for you will have different band names. I do believe you aught to listen and react to his work. Here are my suggestions:
“The Last In Line” - Dio
    “Stargazer” - Rainbow
    “Holy Diver” - Dio
“Stand Up And Shout” - Dio
    “Gates Of Babylon” - Rainbow
His music videos can be pretty distracting. I would advise just watching the videos that are only an image of the album cover.
    Live Performance:
“Dio - Rainbow In The Dark (Live The Spectrum 1984)”

This song taught me to appreciate poetry. It's a science fiction poem about a man who saves a car after they've been outlawed, and he allows his nephew to drive it around every weekend ("I commit my weekly crime!").
The lyrics once he starts driving: "Wind in my hair, shifting and drifting, mechanical music, adrenaline surge! Well-weathered leather, hot metal and oil, the sun, the country air. Sunlight on chrome, the blur of the landscape, every nerve aware!" Sight, smell, hearing, and feeling. It put me right in the driver's seat!
