She was one of his top team members on The Voice in 2014 and I think it really hit him hard. That was when I noticed the change in his demeanor, and fans of both him and Grimmie probably have realized this as well. Wish him the best.

It's completely up to an artist to change their sound but as a listener it's just a bit disappointing when you hear a lack of innovation from artists that you know can write very well.
