  • The other month I went to LA and worked out of a WeWork space there as Airbnb's LA office is in a WeWork. I made a video touring the space to tell you guys a bit more about it! Has nothing to do with the WeWork scandal. Enjoy!

Do you think the pricing for this coworking is reasonable?

      It's within Budget

I think its definitely expensive and I would likely have to invest in a fingerprint ID locked lunchbox with is around +3$ a month probably. The question is if it actually makes me more productive , if yes then maybe its worth the price because then I earn more money. 420$ is around what I paid for a small apartment out in the country so the only advantage Wework provides is that it is at a city-center which is important for meetings and the promise of having a place without smoking or loud music.
That said I now pay rent of 858$ with quiet neighbor's and enough space to make my own workroom , its out in the country though but that shouldn't matter if I only work online anyways(and in the small community I rent at there is also a decent looking large meeting hall that I could probably rent for cheap during the day if I really really need).
So I think Wework caters to a very specific high-end industry where software is mixed with officially official business with city center people who need to be very close to industry. And it also caters to people who are willing to pay extra for that high-tech office experience that might help them stay productive and do networking.
All that so long as Wework is a decent environment without harassment. I know that in many countries it goes without saying, but I think that in some places it might not be something to take for granted.

Only beneficial thing of such workplaces is networking opportunities if there are any, otherwise any city library will serve the purpose (for atleast short terms) for individuals working independently. But it could be good option for small start-up companies.

There's no way I would be able to focus in a coworking space. That main room with your desk was so loud compared to the offices I've been in. It's interesting as a concept on paper but it doesn't sound like it functions all that great

It's more about being in a place of work.. at home your surrounded with tv, spouses, kids, dogs, video games, staring at the wall and contemplating life. But investing into a place that's dedicated for work would theoretically exponentially increase productivity and creativity. Not to mention that for such a small investment you'll be around so many other professionals to network with. You know they say it's not what you know it's who you know.

There are options to make the video 0.75 - 0.25 slower, but mostly people sound drunk when you do that, so be aware of that :-) However I don't think it would be a great idea for her to speak slower, just because one or two people don't understand english well. Sorry, but I had to be honest.
