Lyrics:
We're one mistake for being together
Let's not ask why it's not right
You won't be seventeen forever
And we can get away with this tonight - Hudba
I remember being 14 listening to this, couldn't wait to be 17. I'm 27 now. 💀
U so old! Jk. I'm 40 😭
I do too! Ugh who were we kidding.. wanting to grow up 🥲
@@purrfectlyprtty6142
Right! Here I am about to be 28 in August, remembering the blissful teenage years.
Sure they were difficult, but damn...what I wouldn't do to be there again..
I'm 25 as long as I have time to join the 27 club I'll feel young
I was 17
I'm 27 and I cannot explain how much I miss this vibe right now
Facts
im with ya!! 💯
I feel this so hard
I’m here too 😭😭
@@luisdelgado-qn5po buddy😭 in this together
I was actually 17 in 2009 and this song did hit a spot back then .. now 30 years old me feels nostalgic
Haha same here buddy ! Damn time flies
ditto... great years.. just living, no crazy political bs or "sickness"... or ja-bs.
Literally same
Same bro. Time goes by way to quick
Same here!
This the type of music id listen to when the homies aren’t around. I STILL DO and don’t regret it. It’s actually rly good
cringe. Listen with your homies
😂😂😂😂😂
How old are you? Own your shit ! Or getting better friend
Lol i would unapologetically blast stuff like this alone in my frat house and chicks would flip out when theyd come over, all like "Omg i used to loveeeee Metro Station!"
Its really attractive when you unapologetically express yourself and the things you like, ive come to learn
😂 always when the homies aren’t around
I was 14 when this came out.. couldn't wait to be 17 ..now I'm 21 ._.

Yep..
I was 22. I’m 35 now 😳
Same here I was 17 when this came out best time of my life.. now I’m 30 :(
I remember waiting till I was 17 till this song was relevant. I heard this song when I was 15 and now i'm 19. I missed it. oops.
Same aha
Me too! except I'm 18
i was 17 when i first heard this song, now i'm 22. Times flies.

ME TOOOOOOO! but i guess that's the point of the song-we won't be 17 forever!
I was listening to this song as I turned 18.... I'm turning 32 this year and this song still brings about good vibes!
Who's listening to this in 2021? Gosh the fucking memories.
Srsly 🥺💜
What a time :’-( wish I could go back ❤️

same !! lol
How fast did the 6 years since you made this comment pass?
I used to listen to this song and think 'when I'm 17 I'll have loads of fun a boyfriend and get invited to loads of parties!!! XDXDXD'
I'm 17 now and am consumed by anxiety and paranoia
fuck being a teenager
you said it so true
still 14 but its the same - no girl interested in , no one that wants something more from me...
This is literally going to be the easiest part of your life being 17, you should enjoy it
+Bryonie McCarthy
As a 21 year old university student whose suffered with crippling depression and social anxiety, I can honestly say, if you push past your boundries, do the things that scare you and go out with friends as much as possible, you can make a hell of a year to remember.
It's what I did at 17 while obsessed with this song and it was the best year of my life. I became more outgoing and confident due to it too.
+Bryonie McCarthy Haha I used to be consumed with anxiety and paranoia when I was a teenager. I used to think it was because of relationships. However I'm now happily married but still suffer from anxiety and paranoia from different things... so basically it was just who I am.
So yeh, based on my experiences. Your symptoms will change but the core problem will probably always exist.
Listening to this song in your mid-late twenties after years of not hearing it just hits different wtf
Very true. Anything to go back to the teen party's not caring about anything #bliss.
Try early 30s. Memories.....
As a now 33 year old...
Not sure how I'm supposed to feel about this comment 😅
When I was 11 I thought this was a song about 17 year olds about to do something illegal/stupid and fun (like spray painting or skydiving) because they won’t be 17 forever and are still kids so now is the time to be kids lol
being a 90s and 00s kid is so weird. it's like i'm a mix of those nostalgic 90s people who can't stop being obnoxious about the 90s, and then i'm this, with myspace and songs from metro station and panic! to remind me of middle school. i just feel so weird.
sam perfectly stated!!
00s nostalgia is underrated tbh
I grew up in those years and I'm glad for it. If I had not been around in the 90s I would not know of many good movies that I love. I think those who grew up in the 2000s are out of touch, due to the fact that all they have is garbage movies TV shows etc. And they missed out on pokemon, DBZ, hey Arnold, Ren and Stimpy etc etc. Instead they got, spongebob and shit like that.. lol
sam I’m a 90’s kid 27 here 🤘🏼
Layne Combs hey spongebob has a pass lol other shows today can fuck off
low key wish it was still fucking 2012. shit was simpler. :(
It literally has been 4 years since then. Chill, lol.
Light RED FIRE lot has happened since then. #staywoke
low key.. high key, mid key.. but like.. low key
#whoup
this came out in like 07... lmao
I'm 17 now, and tbh it kinda sucks being 17 in this decade
But the song is still a vibe
It sucked to be 17 when I was 17 in 2012 too lol
I'm 27 now and it still sucks tbh
ugh yeah i turned 18 last year and i spent the whole time waiting for 18... i can assure you 18 in this decade isnt that much better either :/
this is 10 months ago so you're most likely 18 by now or just about to turn 18, but enjoy your time as much as you can. i hate having consequences now like i still want some more time to be a reckless minor
@spookieolive 17s sucked no matter what decade lol enjoy your life and don't let any year go by! I didn't know all the good things i was missing out on until you grow out of your teens haha. Im 25 now and fck i miss those days
05-15 was the last good years of being young. I’m still young and felt rug get pulled from under us quite early. The vibe definitely died around then, music became dry and social division became rife.
I’m sorry you got snubbed in your golden years, but adversity creates characters, your gen will likely be quite resilient.
i remember being 17 back in like 1582 and this still hits the same
i miss 1582 so much tbh 😕

I miss this sort of music, this genrations music is just bleh now. Metro station still pump me up and get me in a cheerful mood.
Shut up
How about you keep your mean comment yourself.
Rachelle Blan I wasn't trying to be being mean this is still considered this generations music Missy
Venomous_Pandaa Completely agree .
Venomous_Pandaa Alot of people hated that song and that band back then. It's always the same
Metro Station was deep into that emo phase & they've been stealing yo girl since the early 2000s.. ♡
Sounds creepy now being an adult.
Yeah, really creepy 😂
Damn i thought i was the only one getting this feeling
Yeah but I was actually 16 when i first heard it so we'll pretend Romeo & Juliet laws made up for it and not dig any deeper 😂
What a fucking throwback holy shit
This song always made me feel some kind of way
Guatafack ! Hahaha same...still does
It did and still does
yep
Juridia Monarrez Still does now!
Because the lyrics low-key encourage pedophilia
Twelve years later and the moment the beat dropped i remembered every single lyric. Music is powerful. 💗 I’m only in my 20s but this song makes me feel so old and nostalgic. I want to cry; these past couple of years have been so rough and this music reminds me of such simple times 😭😭
I'm 20 and I remember all the memories 😭 this is depressing
+Brenda Renee then live a better life, do something
+Brenda Renee 24 here. I remember being 17. older is better. Nobody takes you seriously at 17, and you don't have much life experience yet. Be happy :)
I was 20 when this song came out in 2008. I'm turning 30 soon. Enjoy your youth, kids
Brenda Renee I can relate man
Me too I'm 20 as well and this song isn't even fun anymore because I'm over the age. I always liked older guys and I would sing this song about them
when i was 12 everyone said me, it's just a phase...well i'm 24 and still here so...i won
You are young and so am I.
And this is wrong, but who am I to judge
You feel like heaven when we touch
I guess for me this is enough
We're one mistake from being together
But let's not ask why it's not right
You won't be seventeen forever
And we can get away with this tonight
You are young and I am scared
You're wise beyond your years, but I don't care
And I can feel your heartbeat
You know exactly where to take me
We're one mistake from being together
But let's not ask why it's not right
You won't be seventeen forever
And we can get away with this tonight
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Will you remember me
You ask me as I leave
Remember what I said
Oh how could I, oh how could I forget
We're one mistake from being together
But let's not ask why it's not right
You won't be seventeen forever
And we can get away with this tonight
We're one mistake from being together
But let's not ask why it's not right
You won't be seventeen forever
And we can get away with this tonight
We're one mistake from being together
But let's not ask why it's not right
You won't be seventeen forever
And we can get away with this tonight
Oh oh, oh oh

Fell in love at 17 when this song came out, it felt so fateful. I'm 30 now and we are still going after years of off and on.
Same ..
I also did as well. This song came out when I was 17 and the girl was talking to at the time was 20 and we used to love this song cuz I wasn’t 18 yet. Lmaoo. Miss that time for sure 🥲
what was i doing, liking boys like this at 8 years old??? i was wild 😂😂😂
Vanessa Cazares Lmao sammme
Vanessa Cazares Same! I was maybe 11 and I was major crushing on them alternative boys. My brain was always like "EMO BOYS 100%". Still have a soft spot for those boys in the alternative style 😂

Bro no way. I rediscovered my lost feelings here.
U can’t never get the same vibe as back when u was a youngin but listening to this song sure do take u back to that moment 😔
I'm 22 now and first heard this song at 17 so you know this is a special song.
Good old days. Glad to have grown up with this kind of music, today is just lost.
The feeeels. We all wish that we could turn back to time and be a teen for a bit amount of time once again.
Gotta feel bad for those that weren't around in the 2000s. Such a memorable decade. 💯
I listened to this in private when all my mates were listening to house music and rap, I’ll always have a soft spot for pop
When you realize he was 20 when he sang this about not getting caught with a seventeen year old
Amy al he was 17 but nice try
aye he said in the interview he got his first tattoo's when he was 18 and hes got tattoos
At least he isn't 40 lmao
He wasn't 17, you idiot. That's the entire point of the song.
So? your point is?
I was 11 when I heard this song I wanted to be 17 so bad. Now I'm 17 almost 18 not as exciting as I though.
Thought
lml. right.
story of my life
and when u are 21 u will see it is not fun being older. lol
SAME. I'M 17 AND IT'S NOT EXCITING AT ALL
I don’t think anyone is talking about the fact he’s older than her and she’s underage. He said you’re young and I’m scared but you’re wise beyond your years
I'm 24 God how time flies but ohh the memories
I was 17 when this came out :( I'm getting so old wah

I waited five long years for this song to be relevant to myself
Im turning 35 this year. When this came out I was 21... With 2 kids graduating college. This whole album helped me through tough times.
How did you have two kids graduating college when you were just 21? Impressive
*Metro Station:* You won't be seventeen forever!
*Today:* Komi Shuuko, Belldandy, Sanae Furukawa, Eleonore de la Vallière, Macrophage... *forever seventeen years old!*
Holy shit it has already been 5 years. Enjoy 17 while you can
Does anyone else miss this version of Metro Station?
Yes!
Bet you miss it even more now
This was blasting distantly in the background at a backyard party on a cold winters night. There was a fire pit lighting up the night and I remember hearing laughter between the chorus of this song. I was 14 maybe 15 and my heart was full of excitement and hope for the future. I feel like I could step back into that moment as easily as I could walk through my bedroom door.
We all lost touch and some didn’t make it here. I’m now a father and the world is strange and uncertain. We brought this on ourselves. We didn’t appreciate what we had and we let fear and anger guide our society.
To the generation that follows us. You were robbed of that feeling. The feeling I can’t explain. I’m sorry we couldn’t keep it for you. I’m sorry for what comes next.
Lol please
This is so true 😭😭😭 this came out like my junior or sophomore year in high school. It was super different back then….this generation will NEVER understand it.
@@thedrunkenfish5855 it’s true tho
Don't feel so special & entitled. Your "generation" is not anything remotely special.

Holy shit I was in 12th grade when this came out, now I'm 25 and struggling with heroin addiction. Pretty fucking sad.
Holy moly that escalated quickly
Kim sorry
Damn bro, you just made me appreciate life 1000x more now
Tell me about it, first heard this with my first girlfriend at age 14, now stuck in a basement addicted to drugs at age 23, most frustrating thing is being taken back in time to a better place, only to realize its just a memory :(
you're not alone. this used to be my shit in 7th and 8th grade. now I'm almost 23 and while I'm not doin h anymore, I still use opiates daily and it's sad to think that middle school was an awful time for me but realistically it's probably the last few times I was happy. now I'm lucky to just be content occasionally.
Miss being 17 on the Oregon coast bon fires 🔥 hanging out in seaside Oregon at the arcade those memories will never die I’m 31 now I wish I could go back when life was great 👍:(
listening to music can reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and pain as well as improve sleep quality, mood, mental alertness, and memory.
Hello from Canada🏴How are you doing today? I hope it's been a great year so far?
Id love to go back to 17, 21 almost 22 so much has changed feels like it was forever ago
I miss being 17...seems like forever ago. I remember living in the moment and not wanting do anything I was told, which I never really did. :) high school were the good days. if your teen listening to this song in 2015, it's so very true and as you get older you'll want to a teen again. cherish the memories and friends you have because life happens and you'll lose touch with many of them.
currently 17, and this in fact was my birthday theme song
This is the style that no one thinks “let’s bring it back!”
Nonetheless
These were the days 😂😂😂😂
They might one day
I would looove to bring it back lol
This song makes me sad for some reason, maybe because I’m longing for the past? Remembering how young and happy I was then, and being with friends I don’t talk to anymore, that was a whole different life for me, maybe a part of me is grieving that
It’s tough man. This song came up as a recommended and I hadn’t heard it in 10 years. It was like I set down a drink 10 years ago and picked it up to keep drinking it in 2022. I can still taste it- still has the fizz. Crazy how music does that.
This has been weighing on me of late. I’m a new father and it’s an incredible feeling, but I’m sad for for nights 15 years ago. I’m sad because they are gone and because it may have been the last time youth could be enjoyed. The world has really changed in recent years and I think that feeling of being young and excited is lost. The golden years of the 50’s to the 2000’s was a special time that that was appreciated enough. Hardship appears to becoming again.
1:22 I think I saw mitchel musso
You did lol
His brother is the lead singer

I did the same thing, thought it was sentimental but now that I think of it, it wasn’t really. For me at least
How did the last day of school feel? How did it feel that people you had known for years you would have to put behind you and go to college?

I remember listening to this song when i was seventeen and my boyfriend was 19 and had his own place since his mom went on vacation and never came back lol I was so desperate for that freedom and was always sneaking around to stay over at his place, I remember telling myself, I won't be seventeen forever, after hearing this song lmao and yeah it went by too quick and now I'm 26 and miss those days
Remember those days, the days with your friends fulfilling memories. Those are just a few of your most beautiful moments in life.
On my 18th birthday this year I played this at 11:59 and it changes over to 12:00 (and me being 18) at the end of the song so perfectly
Wow that came out back when I was 16 years old 17 years old and that was the best time of my life hanging out on the Oregon coast and just being young wild and free. I just turned 30 years old on April 3 and every time I listen to this song it takes me back to that time in my life when I was 17 and all I have to say is live like today is your last day don’t take life for granted and be thankful for every day
Same dude. Was such a shock when it was the 10 year high school reunion.

Thankfull to be able to live / love throughout everything.
2012 was 17 forever 😢❤
I'll always consider this one of my theme songs. I'll be 29 soon, and this song quite literally still makes me feel 17. Just a grown ass teenager 😂😭
I remember listening to this when I was 17. I used to drive around with my friends and go to sonic for ice cream cones. Now I'm 20 and living in Northern Ireland. Where did those days go? Goodness.
Yay Northern Ireland!
My moms family from Dublin, Ireland. Sick :-)
This song is bad ass !!
I remember singing it on my 17 birthday, and now I'm 20...
Omg time goes by so fast!
This vibe..... I just can't control myself....
Going through memory lane. Oh my gosh I’m about to sleep well after this song
This song came out when I was 17. I loved my life back then. I had a beautiful girlfriend, I'd moved out, and had a very good job.
This song is 10 years old this year (I know, how time fuckin' flies?!) - while unfortunately I'm now single, I am a homeowner, have a couple of nice cars on the driveway, and have moved up in the job world.
With that said, this song still takes me back to my teenage years. No mortgages, no overtime, no fuss and no pressure. As much as I reminisce, I also use this song as a bit of a reality check. 10 years ago I was happy with my innocent life. Nowadays I'm really damn happy with what I've achieved. I'd never have thought that in 10 years I'd have bought a big house and had a Porsche 911 on the driveway.
I'm looking forward to revisiting this song in another 10 years and thinking about being "27 forever" (it doesn't have the same ring) - but hopefully be married with a couple of kids and a dog by that time. Maybe the kids will be laughing at my 4K TV - "dad, it's so outdated! Everybody now has 4k headsets, you wouldn't know what they are because you're ancient!"
Danny D you can move out at any age but I think you have to be 16 before you are allowed to rent etc. I certainly wasn't 18 when I moved out. The fresh prince wasn't 18 when he moved out either.
