    Hi there.
    I do have the same problem with the seat material on my Xciting 400i (not S400i) from 2018.
    Additional to that the front fork is not working that good as it should. On bad roads the reaction/tension is working to late and to hard - even in corners of bad roads this ends up in giving me a push to the handle bar. Something I never had that much on any bike before. AND ... another negativ point on my scooter: The front break is causing vibrations when I use it - no not because of the ABS system. The most vibrations are caused on lower speed breakings (city for example if you are heading towards a traffic light and you try to break smooth to zero).
    Anyone out there who has a solution(s) to this problems ?
    By the way: Bying another scooter is not an option because beside this little faults I do love my Kymco ! ;-)

    • @ajmaralit
      @ajmaralit  Před 4 lety

      Looks like I’m not alone on the seat issue then, I wonder why this isn’t being addressed. Suspension wise, mine is just too stiff - similar to sportsbikes I’ve had in the past (vs standard bikes). Regarding your brakes, maybe a warped disc? Weird tho that it only happens at lower speeds. Hope you find a fix for it. Ride safe!

    Hello Sir. I own my Kawasaki versys x300. It's a great bike but not comfortable for long riding. So I'm looking for a comfortable scooter with a possibility of long riding. Roads in my country aren't perfect. Would you recommend kymco xciting s400? My other option is the sym cruisym 300. I've heard only good things abou comfort of the Cruisym.

    • @ajmaralit
      @ajmaralit  Před 3 lety +2

      Hello sir. I haven't ridden the Sym but for the Xciting I can definitely say it's comfortable enough to tour. Is it the most comfortable scooter that I've owned? No, that distinction goes to the PCX150 that I owned prior to the Xciting.
      The reason for this I think is my height. I'm 180cm tall and have long legs. I think because of this there is limited space for my legs. Interestingly enough, while smaller, the PCX has more legroom. Second is that the Xciting suspension is definitely stiffer than the PCX. That said, if the roads in your country are smooth, this won't be an issue.
      Where you will an advantage is in the power of the engine. Because it has 400cc, then cruising along the hi way is no problem. Overtaking is not as difficult on lower displacement scooters but at the end of the day, a scooter will never beat a regular motorcycle. Finally, the big tires and weight of the scooter also help with stability at high speeds.
      Hope this helps.

      I’m pretty sure it would. Right now, I use both front and rear if i need to stop in a shorter distance so its manageable. I just really thought it would be stronger since it’s a radial set up. Not a deal breaker tho, still love the bike.

    • @djnoyon
      @djnoyon Před 3 lety

      PCX got a combination brake which means when u press the front it does use others too as they don't have abs at the back. I own a nmax which uses abs in both brakes so I have to use 50/50 to stop. Abs in both brake pad helps you to stop in bad weathers or emergency stops more efficiently and safely where combi brake will skid your bike off. Hope that helps.

      The PCX is perfect for getting the “feel” back after so many years of not riding. You can also tour on it (as many do in the Philippines) but it won’t be as comfortable as, say, an Xciting 400. I think the Honda bike you’re talking about is the Rebel. It’s a nice bike too, but if touring is what you’re after, there are better bikes out there (Kwak Versys for example). Anyway, either way you go, enjoy the ride!

      @ajmaralit  Před 3 lety +1

      That is a tough one.. if we didn’t have restrictions (400cc and up only) along our National Highway where I live, I might have gone with the XMAX.. please note as well that I haven’t had same ownership experience with xmax so I may not know the downsides of owning one...
      3 reasons:
      1. Yamaha reliability. While Kymco quality isn’t bad, Yamaha probably a little better.
      2. Comfort. Yamaha ergonomics fits taller riders better. Kymco is a bit more sporty I feel so while not tight, it’s not as spacious in the leg area as the XMAX
      3. Trunk space. Xmax can fit more stuff under the seat.
      At the end of the day, it’s a very close match up. Choice at end of day will come down to personal preference based on type of use.

    Nice review! I'm a pcx user and my only complains are it can't pass all roads(xpress) and its a light bike,specialy when i ride on edsa. I'm looking forward to own an xciting 400 especially that there's a lot of xpress roads being built in ncr already. Is the compartment of the xciting the same with the pcx? And would you recommend this bike as an all around bike?

    • @ajmaralit
      @ajmaralit  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks!
      I actually had a PCX before getting the Xciting. I eventually sold the PCX since I didn't feel the need to have two scoots.
      The PCX definitely had the more compliant suspension. Mas comfortable talaga siya. However, it didn't bother me much because I knew coming in that the Xciting was more sport oriented. So sa Marilak, super planted siya because the suspension was more stiff.
      In terms of compartment, mas malaki yung compartment ng PCX pero isa lang - the Xciting has 2. More importantly, lockable yung compartments niya - when you lock the steering, the compartments lock as well.
      Overall, I'm very happy with the Xciting. Pero if daily driver mo siya, talagang matagtag compared to PCX. If you're willing to live with that, you'll be very happy with the Xciting.

    Do you counter steer into corners..when I first got my T max after riding motorcycles for 40 years I found it ponderous into fast corners..I then started counters testing and the bike tips into the corner with amazing agility as quickly as anything this side of a full on sportsbike..it also holds its line and is planted so long as you don't come off the throttle mid corner..try it with the xciting .just start relatively slowly as the bike will tip into the corner faster than you might expect.. Enjoy..My Tmax is more fun on a twisty road at 50 to 70 mph than a sports bike travelling half as fast again!!

    • @ajmaralit

      I’m 5’11 and I can easily put my feet flat on the ground. If you’re 5’3” you can still probably ride the bike but you’ll be tip toe-ing when stopped on the bike. The main challenge i would say is when trying to back up from a tight spot for example as the bike would feel quite heavy if you’re on your toes. At the end of the day, you will still be able ride it, there’s just going to be some challenges. I would think it would be the same for most maxi scoots anyway so if you really want a maxi scoot, you’ll have to live with the challenges. I know a lot of guys with your height that ride bigger bikes so it’s doable.

    How can you describe the feeling changing from a motorcycle to a Maxiscooter?

    • @ajmaralit
      @ajmaralit  Před 3 lety +2

      Jose Manuel The transition is very easy since the scoot is lower so easy to flatfoot as well as weight is lower to the ground so bike feels much lighter than it actually is. The main ‘drawback’ is the power. You feel a lot of slippage when accelerating and top speed as well isn’t great.
      In terms of ‘cool’ factor, it’s not as cool as a full on motorcycle. But then I don’t really care much about that anymore. The bike is a hoot to ride, no shifting, light on its feet, and very utilitarian with its luggage compartment.

      I have never ridden an Xmax 300 so I can't answer the question. From a looks perspective, I feel the Xmax probably edges out the Xciting. Engine-wise, for me, the bigger displacement is more useful for touring on the bike. Suspension wise, the Xciting is a sporty ride which is a other way of saying it's pretty stiff and so not as comfortable as I would prefer. Not sure about Xmax suspension.

Ang mga kailangan lang na considerarion is height (medyo mas matangkad siya sa smaller scooters), weight (mabigat talaga siya so mas mabigat i maneuver lalo na pag paatras), and size (medyo malapad siya so hindi kasing dali sa singitan tulad ng maliit na Scooter). As long as accepted naman yung 3 factors na yun, mag e-enjoy talaga kayo sa Xciting :)
      Thank you for subbing boss!

    Paps ano masasabi mo in comparison with xmax 300?

    • @ajmaralit
      @ajmaralit  Před 3 lety +1

      Hindi ko nasakyan yung xmax ng matagal so can't really compare. Sa looks, I think mas ma-withstand ng time yung design ng Yamaha. Sa ergonomics, at feeling ko mas maluwag yung xmax but not by much. Sa engine, not comparable kasi 300 vs 400. Sa overall quality I think pareho lang.
      For me pinaka importante kasi yung ability to sa expressway kaya no brainer kinuha ko Xciting. Pero if pareho pwede sa expressway, medyo mahihirapan talaga ako pumili. Baka mag lean pa ako towards xmax because of underseat storage.

      Yes, mahihirapan talaga ako if both were expressway legal. Matagal ko na kasi gusto Xmax but I held back because of expressway legality. Then nung lumabas yung Xciting na new look, I was sold since I knew the Xmax wasn't going to be available in the 400cc variant

    Kamusta naman po fuel consumption long ride and city ride

    • @ajmaralit
      @ajmaralit  Před 4 lety +1

      Kung puro city ride lang ang gamit, hindi ko siya ma rerecommend kasi mas practical yung smaller displacement. Ang advantage talaga niya si for long distance riding kasi while mas malakas consumo ng gas, yung comfort niya and safety features (big tires, better brakes, bigger fuel tank, etc) are big plus factors. In my opinion, perfect itong bike for those na mag s-scoot to work, but also mahilig bumyahe sa weekends.

    I have mine since May 2020 i have 4000km on it. Problems are as follows too much vibration and hurts the groin over a medium to long ride. The seat is poorly shaped for posture. And i raced a yamaha xmax 300 which was much quicker acceleration. I just ordered the arrow exhaust race version. Once fitted a remapping and change of Variator change too. It does lack a little acceleration should be a 6 second bike for 400cc. Handling while riding fast in corners a little twitchy. And the starter button also works as hazard warning lights which is easy to turn on accidentally. There is no wind protection on the legs. So if you live in a cold or fresh climate you're legs will be icy. As for Noodoe It's not good at all. Bad menu and having problems with kymco maps doesn't want to work properly

      I do agree with the vibration but haven’t ridden far enough (thanks to the pandemic it’s difficult to travel in my country) to feel discomfort. I also find that having it always near to full on petrol helps absorb some of the vibration. I do agree with the seat being not as friendly to posture, at least compared to my PCX. I did notice the acceleration but just brushed it off to the weight of the thing - I don’t doubt you tho as I can hardly keep up with my friend’s Vespa Sprint on take off. Unfortunately Yamaha don’t offer the xmax 400 here in the Philippines otherwise I would’ve seriously looked at that bike as well before buying. As for wind in the legs, it does get windy down there but it actually helps with me because of our tropical climate. Nodoe i really don’t even use so to me its just a gimmick. I do like the gauges tho as they’re easy to read and are well lit.

      @@ajmaralit the xmas 300 i believe is better than the 400 as its a new engine the 400 I'm told is slightly slower. Friend has the 300. I put the Arrow race exhaust on my xciting. Too loud and not a nice tone. So next Monday when they open I'll see about changing the baffler if not I'll put back the original you only gain 1.5 horse power more. I am looking into remapping and the Variator change by Malossi in Italy. I'd like to find 1 to 2 seconds better acceleration top end is fine for that scooter. In May and june I did 1000km july 3000km.

      Fabio Gentile from looks point of view, the xmax edges the Xciting for me by a little bit. The design is a bit older but I really like it. The Xciting is more modern looking but my guess is that the xmax will age better. Unfortunately, in the Philippines, below 400cc bikes are not allowed in 2 of the major highways which is why the xmax 300 was scratched off my list. Otherwise, it’s possible that an xmax would be sitting in my garage. That said, I still love the Xciting, it’s really the perfect bike to get on when you just don’t want to be bothered by shifting and lugging around a big motorcycle.
      Good luck with the baffle install, hope it sounds good!

      @@ajmaralit the good thing is once outside the city limits of the national capital region ( NCR) , every bike of different displacement will be on equal footing here in the Philippines, taking away the advantage of having an expressway legal motorcycle , scooting in the countryside i think will be a breeze in a 300 cc scooter

      That is true! The 400cc "predicament" is only for those in NCR.. Everywhere else, it's fair game..
