Tony..sit down with Brian and work it out mate..before it's too late...be the bigger man....life really is way too short.
Brian not that sound of mind ? I wish him all the best but between the two fellas something always goes wrong even if it's Brian precipitating e.g. the 06 reunion , Tony paid for ticket stuff/ venues etc and they got signed by Sony after the concert.. Brian turned up late for studio time and responded to Tony's annoyance with disdain and bam.. arrangement over.
What I think would work a treat would be leaning into how heavily their stuff was remixed, get in old producers again, use old vocals and record new extras and do it in seperate studio sessions so that Brian and Tony don't have to be near each other much at all and make it a project that does new takes on the classics like Take That did with Odyssey BUT make remixes that will actually hit clubs etc
It's a travesty some of the old mixes weren't their own songs e.g. The Swing mix of Its Alright has different lyrics outside of the chorus and is like an R&B track of its own.
Come on London Records , get ON it !
No, I think is to late.., they are totally different people now...
Brian is in a dark place and he is talking about it but no one will help him so how can CALM help him before it’s too late?....and Tony, lets be fair he brought your song to life so even if you don’t talk to each other this is a situation for this charity to address??
And i was thinking exactly the same but didn't quite Kno how to put it so thank u!..Couldn't agree more, from one Nick to another😀
You've got an absolute valid point. 👏
Can't beleive he is the same guy from 1992-97. Not just his appearance.....his whole mannerisms and accent. Total transformation.
The 90s was a time for music E17 was not my favorite but as the years go on they are right up there with great memories cheers lads...give Brian a call mate life to short...
Seems like a really cool guy and what a terrific song Stay Another Day is. Wish there was something that could be done to help Brian out a bit.
Brilliant Bloke!! :-)
First thing is, why has people put the thumbs down on here, those people are gutless…..
Secondly Tony is a great music writer, genius stuff he has done,
Come in people it’s for a great charity, which I’ve kind of got involved in, on 2 incidents I was call to on my own time trying to help find these 2 people, but I was a hour too late. Life is short, mental health is still a big issue.
We must help charities about this subject. Anyway stay safe people,
Wow your such a nice guy xxx
No one sings your song like Brian Harvey. (even when there's a choir involved) The song doesn't sound quite right without Brian it would be good if the two of you could resolve your differences.
Brian harvey. Your the man
Brian made this song so popular without him never would sound the same ssd how he ended up with nothing
Still love Tony Mortimer. ❤ Was my fav member of East 17. I remember seeing them in concert in 1994 at colston hall in Bristol. It's nice to see him again and can't believe I'm 40 next year, but still 14 when I watch East 17. Xx
Nicola, how does it feel to be 40 in the age of corona.
They were ace live
This is a Tony Mortimer interview and when i look at comments, almost all are about Brian Harvey. So... Brian's the man in charge of e17 succes.
Brian here, Brian there ...
Doesn't really work like that .
Tony got a record deal based on his own material and abilities and was instructed that he needed a band for optics cause it was the early 90s and he grabbed John who he had already tried a 2 piece thing with and then grabbed Terry and Brian As backing singing/dancing types
They all eventually discovered Brians voice but the real hardwork to set the whole thing up was all Tony and until the 3rd album be continued to do all the writing and even the songs good enough to singles were all him that time round except If U Ever which is a cover.
It's like Robbie over with Take That , being younger, louder, perceived as a drug using badboy will get you attention doesn't mean you are the secret talent.
Best of luck to Brian but holy hell does it seem like he is a mess
@@etherspinYou are right, i know it was Tony's band and it was a great combination of his writting, Brian's voice and Tom's great management skills that put them on top. But Tom wanted to destroy Brian and convinced Tony that they can continue without him.
So Tom destroyed the band with the Brian setup interwiew.
Awesome fella!
Tony, please speak to Brian before it is too late. I have seen his recent rants and it is not good. He needs a friend. Just call him please.
@From Oberon I see the other guy from East17 walking around Waltham Abbey but Brian was the one with the voice. He still has a wonderful voice. I just wish he would stop whinging and sing.
He definitely needs support but I don't know if he would accept it from here - some of the reunions were gestures of good faith e.g. in 06 Tony paid up so venue and promotional materials would allow for the performance and then they fell out because they had an ensuing record deal from Sony and Brian didn't show up for paid studio time till late and then was mouthy about it instead of saying it was a mistake on his part and they got into a fight
Periodically over the years Brian will just say things like that he never liked any of the music, that Tony can't write etc and then he will do something like a stint of performances using the band name and singing those songs
Years of that attitude makes it very loaded between these 2 in particular and it doesn't take much to mess it up
I would LOVE to see London Records get them to do what Take That just did -
Select best 12 or so tracks
Get old producers and remixers back in, do a new take on every track , have sessions where each band member records their bits and you don't necessarily need for Brian and Tony to overlap much and then you release and album of refreshed and new sounding versions of classics
East 17 was my favourite but I love ❤️ Tony his my favourite rapper love his style but love all they’re cool… make me young again listen to East 17 album…
Tony certainly knows which Christmas classics reached number 2. He could have added the songs by The Darkness and John Lennon. Maybe 1994 was the last great battle for Christmas number 1. It will always puzzle me how in 2003 the Darkness lost out to Gary Jules’s dreary version of Mad World.
Not gonna lie, he's gone from scrawny 90's chav to hot middle aged dad. Here for it.
Good on ya Tony get the old viynls out u dow even no how good you are
Pints and more pints... fair play to him
Mental Health.. Do something for Brian before it's too late. He needs help. He's got nothing, no hope or anything.
He wearing a scarf to hide his neck. It was hard to say where his neck ends and his chin starts
What's wrong with his neck?
Время никого не щядит
Aged well 🤣🤣
GPMB Gray Parson's looks pretty good just put about 5 stone on
@@neilgregory6237 he gained about 30. he looks like a whole different person. no wonder people at the bake off thought " wait... who dis ! "
@@PHlophe he really didn't.
He is one of those people who fills out in the face whenever they have any body weight above that of a garden rake.
When the group were together he had an eating disorder and some around the group called him PT (painfully thin) - since he was a kid be did various martial arts but in his 40s he had a bad recurring leg injury from it and kept putting weight back on when his main method of exercise was out of the picture. He isn't all that heavy really. Just someone who has a full face relative to body.
He's gorgeous 😍😍😍 back then and today...it's in his eyes...
maybe you should of had the bollox to speak out about what watkins did to you ..could of prob saved a few victims
Considering he hasn't, maybe it's cause there isn't anything to speak out about in his case
@@etherspin i ve heard recordings of john and terry confirming tony broke down and told them watkins had raped him...maybe it was nt rape ?
Funny how you are a millionaire? Did Tom Watkins help you ?
Writing a number one record did
Tom Watkins helped psb and bros what's your point are you jealous
@@joseph9074 which brian sang all the way to number one.
I'm guessing the scarf is his attempt to try and hide his double chin.
It's really cold 🥶
