Tony Mortimer was my biggest love and dream from my 11-17 years old🧚♀️. So I still respect him veryyyy much! East 17 is my favorite group ever and i know all song of this group by heart.
I'm from Germany and I'm still a fan of East 17. It's a shame that the formation with Brian Harvey and Tony Mortimer no longer exists. I still have the albums Walthamstow, Steam, Up all Night &Around the World(The Journey so far) and still enjoy listening to them.
Tony is looking much better here than on that documentary a few years back. It's sad that the other 3 basically ended up skint while he's living in a mansion on the basis that he wrote the songs but they all worked together. At least he could have sorted them out with a few quid...especially Brian who we know has had some problems.
Tony deserves more money but it doesn’t seem fair Bryan is living in poverty . Tony wrote the songs but was foolish to think he could just kick talent like Bryan out of East 17 and then continue to be successful. Fans don’t like change especially when losing the main singer , Bryan was just as important to the groups success.

Nope. It's because he was the only member of the band (because he was the writer) who had a publishing deal, and that's where the real money is, management doesn't come into it.
Brian is a hero and we salute him for his incredible strength and will to bring justice to those who deserve it. He has been to hell thanks to individuals involved in wrong doing.

I don't know how Tony Mortimer sleeps at night, the other three guys have no money to show for their time as East 17, yes Tony wrote the songs but the band of those four guys was the vehicle for them to be recorded and performed, Stay Another Day would be nothing without Brian singing it.
If he was trying to come back as a solo artist, it won't work you need catchy songs especially if you're up against the likes of Rick Astley, who still sounds great, sorry Tone!

East 17 were the boy band it was 'alright' to like in '93. Then a year or two later it was paisley shirts and Beatle haircuts. Still, I have a great amount of respect for Tony, who was genuinely a gifted songwriter. He's respected in the UK music industry, but never got his due in the media for being a real artist. If Noel Gallagher had written and sang Stay Another Day instead of the cheesy boyband, no one would shut up about what genius it was.
