- There are some people who have done their own research to find out more about Islam. After converting, they are unable to practice in public because of the backlash they could face. Some people also live in very small towns but there isn't a Muslim community. What should these people do in order to be able to practice their Islam?

Conditions are and can become bad for a muslim but one must keep his iman strong and not be weakened by these situations. Allah is with you. They try to scare you more.
May Allah make it easy for our brother and grant him steadfastness and an easy and long life. I wish to get to know this person and wish to Pray his Janazah( as I would like someone to do the same for me if I was in his place) InShaAllah, (if Allah wills) to take his soul before mine.
Announcing your acceptance of Islam is hard sometimes in places like India.
I would have encouraged this young man to make Hijra to another place and if possible, to connect him with Muslim community there.
